So beautiful! I haven't been to the White Mountains in years. Thanks for showing us that the hotel is still as beautiful as ever. Just an FYI, that bar called the Cave used to be a real speakeasy during prohibition.
They would look through a slot in the wall to see if any "Federal" vehicles were coming. Great stories told at the MT Washington Hotel.
I believe his name is Bullwinkle. Big place and very nice. End of the day I prefer a truck and camper. Looking forward to tomorrow's trip. 😊

Work @ MT.W&R early 1990s as main dinning room waiter. They were still daily printing the menus back then :)
Yes a big great place and love the fires in the fireplaces. Also loved the outside fire and that bear that came in thanks for sharing.

Stayed there a couple of times in the late 70s mid 80s. The views are absolutely spectatular. In the morning as the fog burns off its incredible.

My favs were Bullwinkle the Moose and Curiosity the Bear , The old print shop so lonely and forgotten, replaced by modern technology 😢 great vacation

What a *GORGEOUS* Resort ! so tastefully decorated too. Must cost an 💪&🦵 to stay overnight.
You are correct about the arm and leg. Just stayed two days this year (8/1-2/24), and my bill was $1898.58. Food, drink and room. No other costly activities
like golf or anything. We've been going every year for about 25 years and have seen the prices slowly increase, but most dramatically since Omni took over.

When i was young, we spent two weeks there, every August until my parents bought a camp nearby.

The last items printed in the print shop were around the late 1990s. The story goes, the one person that could properly operate the print shop passed away and so the hotel shut it down. The second floor was fully furnished housing the print shop operator in time of operation.

As I'm watching you walk around in there all I can think is that in 75 years there will be someone like you doing an urban exploration there when it's abandoned & maybe that person will do some research & find this video to show what it was like in 2023.

When my ex and I visited some years ago, the Mount Washington Hotel was the largest single wooden structure in the world. Beautiful place to visit I might add

I spent my honeymone at makinac isl. Its how i have always pronounced it. It was a beautiful place. But the food was horrific. I really cant say anything was good. It was in 2010. So not sure now
