So beautiful! I haven't been to the White Mountains in years. Thanks for showing us that the hotel is still as beautiful as ever. Just an FYI, that bar called the Cave used to be a real speakeasy during prohibition.
You are correct about the arm and leg. Just stayed two days this year (8/1-2/24), and my bill was $1898.58. Food, drink and room. No other costly activities like golf or anything. We've been going every year for about 25 years and have seen the prices slowly increase, but most dramatically since Omni took over.
Beautiful, Chris! Thanks for the tour. That's quite an impressive resort, and the history with the IMF and World Bank most imteresting. As always, you are the MAN! Thanks!
So glad you stopped in here. It is a beautiful place that I was lucky enough to stay at a few times. It also looks awesome from the top of Mt. Washington.
As I'm watching you walk around in there all I can think is that in 75 years there will be someone like you doing an urban exploration there when it's abandoned & maybe that person will do some research & find this video to show what it was like in 2023.
The last items printed in the print shop were around the late 1990s. The story goes, the one person that could properly operate the print shop passed away and so the hotel shut it down. The second floor was fully furnished housing the print shop operator in time of operation.
When my ex and I visited some years ago, the Mount Washington Hotel was the largest single wooden structure in the world. Beautiful place to visit I might add
I spent my honeymone at makinac isl. Its how i have always pronounced it. It was a beautiful place. But the food was horrific. I really cant say anything was good. It was in 2010. So not sure now
I am not a fan of chopping of animals' head and sticking it on a plaque for humans to 'admire' - each to their own, the rest of the video is fantastic ..

They would look through a slot in the wall to see if any "Federal" vehicles were coming. Great stories told at the MT Washington Hotel.
Oh my goodness, I had no idea about that new development. Looks amazing and modern
I believe his name is Bullwinkle. Big place and very nice. End of the day I prefer a truck and camper. Looking forward to tomorrow's trip. 😊
Is a tad stuffed shirt at my perspective.
😉👍
W0W that place is just absolutely B-E-A-UTIFUL
Definitely has the Overlook vibe. Thank you for taking us here. Safe travels!
The view all around is 👏 🙀
Work @ MT.W&R early 1990s as main dinning room waiter. They were still daily printing the menus back then :)
I was going to mention a certain movie, but then you beat me to it.
It's got those vibes all over it! Kind of creepy.
They don't make movies like that anymore.
🤔?? 5:09 "-if there's still work".
Besides an edit error, what is it??
🤔
Thanks Chris! Stayin tuned!
🤠👍
Stayed there a couple of times in the late 70s mid 80s. The views are absolutely spectatular. In the morning as the fog burns off its incredible.
Awesome place and beautiful area!! You should try and stay there sometime. 👍🏻😀

What a beautiful part of the country. I have never visited there. Great videography as usual.
Thanks for taking me there, Chris
Good video 👍
My favs were Bullwinkle the Moose and Curiosity the Bear , The old print shop so lonely and forgotten, replaced by modern technology 😢 great vacation
Pretty neat they were their own Kinkos! Guess you wouldn't be toodling into nearest town in winter smart move for early marketing.
Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC is another cool old place on the east coast
That is a massive building
Beautiful Coverage
🎊🍂🇮🇳🎊🍂
What an Old World Treasure!
That was amazing
Ghost Hunters did a show here. 2012. Caught a glimpse of Carolyn, the old owner 👻
Hi Chris, Amazing video. Feel bad about the print shop.
Beautiful
Nice 👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
Famous Bretton Woods Conference took place there
When i was young, we spent two weeks there, every August until my parents bought a camp nearby.
Life in the Grand Manner....
Absolutely Gorgeous and breathtaking scenery. My mom worked at the World Bank when I was a kid and thought it was a regular bank, how wrong I was 😊
Hope you took your sweetie with you ❤
Reminds me of The Grand on Mackinac Island
Beautiful. Did you stay there.?
Did you spot the upside down baluster on the porch?. One of 5000
Was the movie the Shining actually filmed there? Other TH-camrs claim that is was filmed somewhere else
It was not filmed here

As awesome as that sounds, I hope it's never abandoned.

The moose head above the fireplace is blocking the fire sprinkler.
Post10 was here I believe
Yes, the print shop, I thought the same.

Happy 4th of July!
Hopefully you recorded your room.
