FYI like most people you missed a step. When you unclip the top from the back latches, snap the large plastic clips into the bar before rolling it up. It will make it much easier & smoother. I love this car.
No need for earplugs with top down, and while in some areas, maybe the Bimini is more likely to be used, as a Spyder RS owner, I'll offer that the Bimini solution (top up, rear glass cover section removed) is not an everyday thing, but more likely a sun shower or surprise weather change choice. Regular highway driving with the Bimini even at a quicker pace is not quite per se, but certainly liveable without the earplugs. As for seats, the car is at no charge available (and I chose these) with 18-way power adjustable sports plus seats instead of the carbon buckets. The 18 way seats can be optioned with seat heating as well, perfect for our spring and fall days here in Canada. The glove box is huge and since the owner's manual is on the app, the glovebox is otherwise empty, so I've found it's where a lot of items like sunglasses get stowed. Funny that a commenter suggested this was a track car since Porsche made it specifically NOT as a track car. Not a track car, but trackable, it's also not a daily driver, but it is quite possibly the most fun one can have on a twisty back road on a nice day. The top is fun and engaging like a mechanical luxury watch and oozes quality like a Swiss watch, including its front 'plate' section being made of carbon fibre. It's hard to believe that in this car, one is getting a GT3 Cup car race engine revving to 9000 rpm, and the front suspension from a 991.2 GT2 RS, but with far more capable and refined suspension tuning, stuffed into what starts life as a Boxster chassis. As for the dated cockpit, many reviewers and owners say this is peak cockpit, peak Porsche. Real gauges, real buttons, great touch points, perfect seating position and perfect steering wheel. Agreed I'm biased, but fact remains. For anyone able to order a Spyder RS, one rather pricey but 100% necessary option - nose lift. Do not buy this car without. Great review Miles, and fun that it's a different approach for your content than many reviewers take when illustrating not just driving but as well, ownership experience.
Seeing the earplugs reinforces my decision to cancel my Spyder RS and order the 718 Cayman Coupe GTS 4.0. Much more liveable car. No fussy top. Not as harsh on the road and sounds great but not excessive decibels like the RS. I had a GT3 RS and sold it after one year. Decided it was really a track car only and not for road other then to drive it to the track. Good review of the RS here by Miles
literally in the same life situation...glad we have first world problems. Even if you had 3/4 track days a year ,what the hey! 3 secs?(and 100k in bank !)
Love watching you miles....But in my opinion i guess your previous videos were awsome than these where you started the videos from parkinglot.I loved those!!!!! Keeep going mahnn
It's funny seeing the varying opinions on this car. Everyone in these comments love the car, but more widely appealing (less enthusiast centric) videos get all kinds of hate for the inconvenience of having a tent to disassemble for a roof. As someone currently having trouble with microswitches malfunctioning on my Boxster (at a cost of $1500 to replace once they completely stop working), I dream about having a manual roof with less things to break. It's an experience car, not a soulless appliance.
I started contemplating replacing my LC500 daily with a Spyder RS. To quote you, am I really that unhinged? Probably. Lucky enough to be living in OC as well and working from home so no commute….thxs for the video, very relevant! Loved ‘Karen’’s intrusion at the beginning 😂
Hey miles love your channel,I don’t know how you get the cars or if you choose which cars you get to review but I’m trying to decide between a few cars and you’ve done a lot of them but could you review a Porsche panamera if possible thank you
A spectacular car with quirks that were put in deliberately I'd say... The driving experience looks absolutely fantastic. The 718 is a great platform in itself, but this is something else. For the road it is surely a better experience than a GT3 RS, that sound alone brings so much joy even at lower speeds while in most other GT models (as with many supercars) it seems like you need to really push it to feel what it is made of, which is not recommendable on the road. The question is: can the EV replacement come close to this?
3:15 does the sypder not have the pop out cupholders? Classic Porsche "weight saving". Edit: pretty sure I see the cupholder logo. That would probably be a better spot for the water bottle :)
I own a GT4 RS and a 981 Boxster S with PSE and X73 suspension, I also added FOCAL limited edition 911 speakers , car play to OEM PCM. I would rather vote Democrat after I’m dead than deal with that top. I also ordered the module that raises or lowers top with key fob that other countries enjoy but not America. As the platform goes tree hugger I plan on driving my cars into the ground.
I'd love to be at Porsche right now... when they can charge over 200k for a car with no heating or ventilated seats, no remote start (unless you didn't show it off in the video), no keyless entry, no back adjustments to the seats, no gauge cluster screen, dated tech, the worst convertible roof in the history of the auto industry, all wrapped up in a car that looks pretty much like every other 911... Meanwhile the Z06 C8 is about... 80k? 90k? 100k? less expensive. has heated and ventilated seats, a multitude of seat adjustments, remote start, gauge cluster screen, new tech, a brand new engine setup, a revolutionized design, more practical space, a better sounding engine, an equally fast and nimble coupe, an easy and efficient convertible top.... I mean I could go on and on. The only thing the C8 Z06 doesn't have that the Porsche has is the Porsche badge. It's equally as competent or miles ahead in every other category.
You really don‘t get the idea of the RS-models. It‘s about racing, lap times and emotions. If you want the latest tech, more room, comfort and a faster car in a straight line, you should look at other Porsches👍
@senftomate8342 No, I get that. My point is that those things aren't worth an extra 80k+. My point is that even that little advantage you get on track isn't worth the tradeoff. I'm saying car for car, the C8 is better.
@ Yes, that’s right. The c8 is definitely the more versatile car and you get more of a very good allrounder for your money. Cars like the spyder rs are not for the people, who have to look at the bank account when buying. Nobody is gonna use it as a daily. Furthermore there are only about 7500 units, which are being built, so its most likely a collector’s car…
Not at all, this car is for no roof driving, the top is only for really bad weather, and this is not a daily this is like the finest wine you have for special moments. You can by 100s of automatic convertibles, no one will give you 50% of the experience the Spyder RS provides...believe me
Day 24 of asking to review the M5 E39 Porsche, the car brand I least care about I think I prefer the SUVs over the sports cars, that's just my opinion 🤷
I have much gratitude for being fortunate enough to have both a 991.2 generation 911 Turbo Cab as well as a new '25 Spyder RS and I'll offer that both are awesome in their own right, but not substitute goods. For those who like a 911, the 911 is absolutely the right choice in any generation- amazing cars. My first was a 997.2 GTS Cab and it was so much fun. When it came time to trade something in order to buy the RS, I could not part with my 911 Turbo. As for the gauges and dash, well that's personal taste- I like both, but would not want a 992 (which we could have bought instead). Room inside? Back seat gets traded for trunk. Newer 991 and 992 gen 911s are much wider, the RS feels about the same as a 997 in size. A 911 is a more do-everything, versatile, polished, complete car. The Spyder RS is a more capable canyon companion, and I expect will take a rightful place in the history of the brand.
He feels like that one cool rich uncle everyone has.
Yeah everyone has...
Fr 😅
Except the rich part…
Fr bro
2:35 she nailed that Karen part 😂😂😂
FYI like most people you missed a step.

I never clicked so fast on a video, that's my dream car
Not gonna happen
@@kevanthelemon4054 why?
@ he’s got someone to prove wrong now, that’s some pretty good motivation don’t you think
I believe in you! And now you have to prove someone wrong and someone right.
It’s OUR dream car(I’m not a communist I swear)
Man that 718 sounds phenomenal.

Honestly fast becoming my fav car youtube channel. Super informative.
I love watching your videos man! Keep up the good work!!!
good morning miles! this is easily my favorite new Porsches
This thing sounds absolutely f*cking insane 😱
POV: The Neighbors
Dang, does that neighbor have a new car every day?
POV: MPH
Hello guys, welcome back to another video
it is insane how quickly the Spyder rs became one of my favorite cars of all time.... and I dont even own one

@ 💯
that's what i did, just got boxster gts 4.0, best car of my life
True, same reason why I prefer a Turbo S over a GT2/3/4
Totally agree, it’s just like the 911, for money and power, the GTS models are always the best
Love the pink color
Great car, second fav modern porsche to regular GT4
Love watching you miles....But in my opinion i guess your previous videos were awsome than these where you started the videos from parkinglot.I loved those!!!!! Keeep going mahnn

The rear end of this car looks so cool
Nice Paint Job 👍👍👍👍
Such a great car 😀
Well done and well spoken....."a work of art" !

great car, 911 turbo s when :)
Already has used it 3 times
That is one cool thumbnail Miles!
I love all your videos and everything about your content EXCEPT for the single use bottles 😂
Such a clean car
Finally an american who knows how to pronounce Porsche correctly
I am a big fan of Porsche 911
Very nice content. You just forgot to blur the analog speedometer. ;)
I have the same car in the same colour but no magnesium wheels.

Mr milesperhr is no uncle as someone mentioned.he is so into his work and having a Ball 🏈🏀.
At this price tag there are lots of options with both more practically and performance
can i review the gt4rs next pls i love them
nice, interesting and entertaining
20 bucks for the car take it or leave it
I would take the 20 bucks fs
Bro is the king of low balling

The cupholders are there. Genius. What was deleted was the CD player.
Think you'll ever get your hands on a GT350R? Something of a screamer from what I've heard heh
Your fellow enthusiast here from the OC asking: where is that canyon road you’re driving at the end of this video?
Bro covered the Digital-Speed thing
Awesome car
Miles laugh reminds me of Cleavland's laugh from Family guy lol
This is my dream car I stg
You should do a GLE 63 AMG Coupe
love
What canyon is that?
14:02 my guy went into GTA 5
3:45 I thought it was a manual
The Porsche engineers didn’t want to include the top. You should drive as intended.
I thought I was the only one who knew 71 degrees is the perfect climate control temperature
Cool car
Pity Barbie’s Ken picked the colour 😝
12:53 looks like you failed once 😂
I want to be part of one of those drives 🥶🙏🏽🔜🆙
U know that’s a honey pack… don’t cap😂😂😂😂

i would rather have a base 911. looks so much better, with more room inside, i hate the dash on these Boxers
Agreed. 911 without a doubt

Is this car a fake manual? The gear selecter is throwing me off???
