I would say this is K-Pop, they are managed by a korean company and the first line up had mostly korean members.
Fatou, the rapper, is indeed the leader and the only one left from the first line up. Her path has not been easy for her and likely still isn't. My respect for her is immesurable.
This song and this group are not more popular because it is a kpop group with no korean members. I bow to them for beeing on the frontline of breaking with koreas old fashioned views and mindsets. Koreans need to see diversity in their media.
Anyway if you want you can check out their other title "karma". It is inspired by indian culture and the whole group visited Sriyas family to learn and experiences said culture. (Sriya is the indian member and Maknae.)
