Correction: CPU clock does not mean higher performance as said in this video. And GHz isn't the amount of instructions processed per unit of time, it's the speed of the clock. Modern CPUs can handle more instructions per single clock cycle which allows for more performance on lower clock speeds. In the same fashion, it also depends on the number of cores. A dual-core 3.7GHz CPU from let's say 5 years ago will be significantly less performant than a modern 6-core CPU with a lower clock speed (e.g. 3.2GHz). Higher clock speed can only mean better performance if comparing CPUs from the same family and generation. And just as an example, if you look at server CPUs like Xeon you will notice they rarely go over 3.5GHz base clock (and this clock speed is also pretty constant during operation) whereas some desktop CPUs start at 4.5GHz-and the Xeons are far more powerful because they can do more calculations per single cycle.
I remember when the standard PS2 memory card was 8mb and can holds respectable amount of save files. Now days, 8mb is the size file of a *single* great quality picture off Patreon/Pixiv and the likes. We're blazing speed the technology advancement and I'm thankful for whoever responsible greatly.
Long Simple Answer: GPU: VideoCard CPU: RAM APU: it's a Built-in processor... An CPU + GPU= Built-in. Only legend will understand this ;) not only the technician.
@@tcistrash9911 there is a big difference between AMD and intel, one being that AMD uses something called pga (pin grid array) where there are pins on the bottom of the cpu and there is 1 hole for every pin on the socket, and intel uses lga (land grid array) which have connection pads on the bottom of the cpu that presses against the connection pins in the cpu socket :)
Whoever made this video made a mistake, Hz (Mhz, Ghz, etc) = Cycles per second which is much different than MIPS. MIPS is how many instructions per second. Some instructions require multiple cycles to complete which is why they usually go by MIPS in processing vs the clock speed. GPU equiv to MIPS would be FLOPS or Floating Point Operations Per Second.
Gotta say, you explain all of this wayyyyyy to good, I’m a dumb fuck for this kind of things and was easy to understand everything, already subscribed the content is priceless
Very nice video -- I liked it, but I think you should've added a small note about Intel and AMD CPU's being the only two choices more or less applies *only* for notebook or desktop computers. After all, there are other brands and types of CPU's that are used on phones, tablets, and gaming consoles -- the various types of ARM CPU's come to mind. And there's a similar bit of "fine print" (so to speak) for GPU's. Don't get me wrong, I thought the video was fabulous, a great general explanation, but a very small mention of other things would have made it even better. It's just my opinion -- I don't mean to criticize too harshly
daddydaddy_ c00l if you haven’t already got a pc, you defo want a dedicated graphics card, and preferably a powerful one like Nvidia RTX 2080. I think the 1660 would be okay too.
Isn't clock speed like the amount of times the CPU clock cycles per second? And the number of instructions per second is determined by instructions per clock cycle (IPC) and the clock speed? Edit: at 4:32 Edit2: overall good video though this part just confused me

I've seen many videos on some PC builds going up close to 300 fps, but on my build I'm only getting about 190fps. I don't know what I did wrong, but it seems to me that the GPU & CPU combo is not a good fit. I have a RX7900xtx with an i5-13600KF, so I can't turn ON S.A.M. unless I have and AMD CPU (according to a how to video) My RAM is a 5600Mhz twin of 32GB combo. I'll keep tweeking it and see how much I can get out of it. :(
I bought a gaming pc that comes with an Ryzen 5 4600g (APU) and a gtx 1650 super so the best thing is I can use my apu to record gameplay and use my gtx 1650 super to play games and still have a lot of FPS
Elijah Samuel Kurian the graphics card has more impact on performance than a cpu does, so i’d go with the top one. Also, dont worry about bottlenecks. any ryzen 5 will do for a 1660.
Hey guys can u make a method and post it on youtube which tells how to fix frame drops on pc ? i get 90% cpu usage i got no idea how to fix it , all youtube methods were useless
I currently have a GTX1050 in my laptop but my game is still very laggy, would getting a APU help much? Or are they about as good as what I already have? Thank you in advanced 🙏
No its will not improve that much - for example latest 3400G APU will perform similar 1030 GPU.So you can play any 2020 games with 1080p with medium setting (50% scaling reduced run at 75fps)will give equivalent FPS with RX 560 GPU (RX560 runs 1080p with ultra at 75fps)
