Thanks for showing this build. Ordering parts now!. I'm an amateur at soldering. Any tips or videos to avoid overheating? What gauge solder do you use on these types of electronics? Cheers!
I normally use a 0.38mm solder, i use it for everything and some SMD as well, but you can use 0.5 or even 1mm in this build, there’s nothing too little or too close to other stuff...
Pay a lot of ATTENTION to Teensy headers, they need to be soldered on top, read the build guide carefully. If they don't make good contact you won't see anything on screen or have any kind of misbehaviour... Also, the D+ and D- pads are VERY fragile, if you just pull the cable after it's soldered you will damage the pads (happened to me :-( ). Keep them as a last step once you are done with the rest. Apart from these possible pitfalls, it's a quick and easy build
@@AutodafeSynths Is it just me, or the 5pin header really tricky soldering? The tip on my iron is quite fine but there's barely any contact to work with?
What's the part number for the 1x D-Shaft Rotary Encoder ?, i ordered the one in the BOM but is not the right one, it has a splined shaft and threaded bushing which the build guide says not to get, bit confusing.
HI Marco, honestly I always buy them in bulk (50x) on Aliexpress. I don't have a specific part for an encoder, but almost any encoder will work. However, this seems to be the part referenced in the BOM: bit.ly/38uPmKY

Great video, any tips for those about to start building there own T-synth ?

@@Passenger-hn5fb what 5pin header do you mean?
@@AutodafeSynths that goes on the teensy.
I'm looking forward to building one. Should make a nice new friend for the Sonic Potions LXR Drum Synthesizer I'm building.
I also have a LXR, great drum machine!

OH, and BTW, this is the one I used from Aliexpress (ita has shrouded bushing (not an issue) but are a bit too tall, but they 100% work

BTW I just released another TSYnth video with Presets
