In Logic you can simply "import" them. In othe DAW, I am sure there's a similar function. Also, simply drag and drop should also work...

@@AutodafeSynths BTW my favorite drum modules for VCV Rack are yours. I love the fact I can switch between drum machine samples so easily to make a custom kit.

OMG Why have I never seen your project? Love the idea, software modules to control physical Modules !!! (I have tested something similar in the past, a 8-voice polysynth using Teensy and controlle by a software VST). Will keep an eye on your project for sure!

@@AutodafeSynths thanks! It hasn't got much attention since it's basically all vaporware until I can get it in an easily build-able state so others can play with it. The setup is a bit complex right now as I've spent most my time developing the voice cards without a lot of focus on the ease of setup. I'm looking to get actual build docs together soon, so stay tuned for that.

@@AutodafeSynths It'd likely be full builds at least early on to ensure everything is working. I'm still trying to figure out how to get this towards launch; there's a number of things that need to be resolved to get there. It's all on github though if someone has the time/patience/reverse engineering skills to order PCBs and try it out. And yeah- they're all SMD. It'd be tough to get all the digital & analog stuff on the 80x80 mm PCBs any otherway. I get most SMD stuff done by the PCB manufacturer then solder on the various specialty analog chips from Sound Semiconductor & Alfa Rpar myself.

@@jqmark the quite complex patch you bear and see in the video consumer about 30% of the CPU. CV in and out will probably not work, unless used with some MIDI-CV converger. Audio in couls work using any audio card with an input

@@AutodafeSynths Did you look at the Zynthian Project? It runs on a Pi and has a case with USB midi host capabilities. I wonder if one could run cardinal on a Zythian Pi as it already has a screen buttons and I/O for audio and Midi. That would make it even easy enough for even me to slap together. My mind is getting a little a head of myself sorry. Hope to see more videos of this in use.

well, yes, there are some memory expansion, but they will probably cost like a new sampler just for a few Kb. Not worth the money IMHO...

well, you could use an external small touch monitor or tablet using hdmi, load the patch and then disconnect it, maybe? or maybe you could use a tablet and connect remotely? Patchblocks suports connecting to the RPI using a standard web browser, for example...

@@lommelinn not at the moment, and the audio Hat only provides audio outs. I plan on having midi controllers using USB, or work with some CV-MIDI converters to get clock and modulations IN the module. Stay tuned 😎

@@AutodafeSynths Are you running the JACK Standalone? then there are 10 CV i/o that you could use in combination with a DC-coupled interface.

@@_DRMR_ I was wondering about that. This is very useful as is but if there was a way to exploit the pin headers and get some DC coupled outputs this would be ground breaking in terms of of price. This seems like a great project for the opensource community and then maybe some pre made etsy products could follow.

@@scottharris7222 An extended version of EuroPi perhaps? That only has 6 CV outputs and 1 CV input. No idea how that would work with jack audio CV ports though.

@@_DRMR_ it is easy to imagine but harder to realize. Regardless I would love to see a 6CV out and 4 CV input DC coupled interface. That would be enough to make VCV Rack (cardinal) very useful in a eurorack case. I have a computer dedicated to VCV Rack with the LCD Monitor above one of the cases using running through the expert sleepers ES-9 interface. That is a good solution but expensive.

On the discord 2 with Monterey had same issue I think. Yea I placed it in my plugin folder. Used the file to mark the location. The plugin should still show in logic even if the firmware is wrong right?

It’s a little bit tricky. I guess the preset browser is still not 100% implemented yet. You can go to the preset browser and then “create” a new one. AFAIK there’s no “save” function, or at least I wasn’t able to find it….

Hi, on Windows you can use "old" VST2 or VST3 files. In case of VST2 you should have a .dll file and put it into your C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VST Plugins folder. in case of VST3 you should have a .vst3 file/folder and put it into C:\Program FIles\Common Files\VST3 in both cases the firmware file should be in the same folder (at least this is how it works on my Windows machine)

That's right, but after installing the nord lead 2x firmware at this address, it says that you need to put the nodal red 2x firmware of a certain size there, specifically on windows 10, it opens a window with the message - Device Initialization failed No firmware found, expected firmware .bin with a size of 524288 bytes The firmware file needs to be copied to C:\Users\Admin\Documents\The Usual Suspects\NodalRed2x oms\ The target folder will be opened once you click OK. Copy the firmware to this folder and reload the plugin. There have never been any problems with any of their plugins, but I'm stuck with this one, maybe there's a bug in the demo version after all.

@@V47566 Could it be a matter of admin rights? My Your_PC_name has admin-rights. I'm also on W10. 'Your_PC-name' is of course your name on your PC (John, JoeS, AliceB. Caroll).

@@fritsvanzanten3573 thank you for your answer, but in the window that opens after launching the plugin, for some reason, the required file (firmware?)is missing. another name is indicated not nord lead 2x but nodal red 2x and the size is larger than the size of the firmware for hardware downloaded by me from the well-known archive of Vincent, I don't think it's about administrator rights

@@V47566 I have kinda the same issue but it is the correct size for me. After creating that ^ folder and placed the F-ware in it. The vst itself opens the correct folder where i put it in but it doesn't recognise the f-ware. It is indeed weird that their other plugins work just fine.

@@thegroove2000 spectrasonics didn‘t sample synths. you are the one that is dumb. you have the respective waveforms of various synths and then omnispheres own engine. even kontakt can have it’s own engine within the sampler itself. yes that’s the dumbest thing i‘ve heard in a while. sampling synths is… 🤦🏻‍♂️
