Amanda Bynes said in an interview that doing this movie and seeing herself as a boy actually gave her terrible body dysmorphia. Her mental health took a really severe downward turn as well (due to schizophrenia, I believe) and I can’t imagine that identity crisis was much help
Imma need Cam to react to Red, White and Royal Blue. I really like his reaction style as he’s not overly critical of anything, it’s like he’s very aware that most of these movies are really beloved and doesn’t want to be disrespectful, it’s really refreshing.
Very similar to "Just One Of The Guys" they are all based off a trope in Shakespeare plays where a girl would have to pretend to be a guy. Sadly Amanda doesn't "go full Joyce Hyser" at the end because this is a Disney film lol
@CamKirkham cam I wish you could do Dogma but stupid Harvey wienstien have held onto the copy right to it 😢 it's my favourite movie. Alan Rickman was ace in it. RIP legend
no one realised she wasn't sebastian because he got kicked out of his old school and Allyria was his new school, which he didn't attend yet since he was in London doing his music lol
this is one of my FAVOURITE movies omg. watched it on youtube as a kid at like 8 and been obsessed since hahah. loved seeing your take on it cam! you NEED to do more of these movie reactions we love them. it’s a great style of content. i’d love if you watched 16 wishes next pleaseeee :))
"She's The Man" is an absolute whirlwind of comedy, chaos, and clever twists that keep you entertained from start to finish! The premise itself is a wild ride, where Viola disguises herself as her twin brother to play soccer at his new school. It’s a crazy setup that not only leads to hilarious misunderstandings but also explores themes of identity, gender roles, and the passion for sports. The performances by Amanda Bynes and the supporting cast bring a perfect blend of humor and heart, while also addressing deeper issues like self-acceptance and the pressures of societal expectations. What I love most about the movie is how it plays with the concept of 'being yourself' and challenges traditional norms about masculinity and femininity. The comedic moments are expertly timed, and the romantic subplots add another layer of intrigue, especially with the love triangle that emerges. Plus, the film is packed with memorable quotes and scenes that have become iconic in their own right. Watching it again, you can't help but appreciate the blend of slapstick humor and genuine moments of emotion. It’s a film that never fails to make me laugh, yet it also makes me think about the lengths we go to for our passions and the importance of staying true to ourselves. Definitely a cult classic that deserves more love and recognition! What are your favorite moments from the movie?
This is my favourite movie, I love Amanda Bynes so much!!! I grew up with this movie and I just watched it yesterday!! Perfect timing, I love your reactions!❤
Another actor (who definitely looked more like Amanda Bynes) was first cast as Sebastian, but they replaced him for some reason. The other actor was shorter too, so I think that explains why people would have a harder time differentiating them
6:58 mate in GCSE drama we did a play where we were waitresses who were impersonating the guys that you get in bars and I kid you not we were strutting around pelvis thrust forward to "the boys are back in town" 😭
They do those ”rituals” in some highschools in Sweden as well, but most are more tame and fun. Although some old prestigious weird “upperclass” schools (like the Young Royals one) still do the really harsh ones. And there are always scandals in the news about them.
and he missed that they're still in high school. The reason she wants to play for the guys team is she's afraid college scouts won't get to see her play because the girl's team has been cut.
The way I have been losing my mind laughing at how funny this is to rewatch through the eyes of someone who never saw this as a kid - you’re hilarious! I would love to see you react to Just Ny Luck another Lindsay Lohan movie
11:45 In America we call it Hazing. It’s banned at many if not all colleges and high schools because sometimes the things they make them do have resulted in death and/or severe injury and trauma. Obviously it still happens and depending on who’s doing it (rich frat boys, football teams basically anyone who is privileged and protected) people in charge will turn away just don’t get caught. For some reason they feel that freshman need to be bullied and abused to join the cool club. Super childish and I guess it sets the tone “be scared of us because we can do whatever we want.”
11:45 hazing, it’s banned but people still do it. Not piss or anything but when I went to learn in America all the frat guys did it. I’m glad I’m back in the NE now 😂
If you can... 'Get Over It' is also a slightly cringey teen rom com. Kirsten Dunst features.. or 'Drive Me Crazy', would love to see the other Twilight movies, they just never aged well haha !
She’s genuinely so talented. I have really good memories of watching All That with my dad as a kid, he was always so impressed with her comedic skill at such a young age. It makes me really sad that she’s had such serious negative repercussions from her mental health issues.
It’s kinda funny watching this video when u know that it’s based on a play by Shakespeare, even the names are like the same. Obvi the original is not about football/soccer but all the twist and turns are the same. One could argue Shakespeare set the tone for the dramaturgical curve for basic storytelling
I got you 11:28 they call it hazing. It used to be really popular but a lot of colleges have prohibited it and started to take legal action to stop it.
Should we keep doing these movie reactions, genuinely would love to hear what you think! ❤️🙏🏻
Why did you comment I could’ve been first.😭😭😭
For sure m8, give a list of big movies you haven't seen 😊
Yes I’m really enjoying them
Pineapple Express 💨💨

Fun fact! She's the Man is actually based off 'Twelfth Night' by Shakespeare lol
A lot of the names and places are directly from the play too!
Oh that’s fun, it’s like 10 Things I Hate About You being based on The Taming of the Shrew.
No way! I performed that play in school 😂

Good shout lol scanned the comment section to see if someone mentioned this. From 1985, that one :D
Well at the time she has a swarm of fans from the Amanda Show so it was always gonna be slightly corny
Also not a Disney film, just PG-13 (15).
@@krmickey9764 huh so it isn't, it's Dreamworks Paramount 🤷

I doubt it’s been banned in UK for censorship reasons, it’s most likely just an issue with copyright and regional licensing
