Hi Paul. I think your videos are great. I have been trying to make a single play pause button in the new captivate 12.3 but have had no luck. I know you have done a video on this for the Captivate classic but was wondering if you could do another video for the new captivate. Thanks in advance
I'm always happy to point you in the right direction regarding questions about Adobe Captivate. If you need more than a simple question answered, you can purchase a one-hour one-on-one session with me at bit.ly/Cp1on1. If you only use some of that time, that's okay. You can bank any unused time (15-minute increments) for future sessions. For example, if you use 30 minutes, you can use 30 minutes later.
Hello Paul. I´m a language teacher who is trying to innovate in her classes. I make my own Power Point Presentations for my students, many of them interactives. However, I would like to create engaging eLearning content to complement my classroom sessions. My question for you is how can I use Adobe Captivate to create engaging eLearning content for my students and where a beginner on Adobe Captive like me should start? I don't know if this is a question with a simple answer or if I need a one-on-one session. Either way please let me know. I do appreciate your advice on this. Thank you!
I advise taking a course that will provide you with foundational knowledge and experience with Adobe Captivate. One such course would be the Adobe Professional Certification - Adobe Captivate, of which I am an instructor. Unfortunately, this program is on hold due to the upcoming release of a new version of Adobe Captivate. However, once this new release is available, they will continue to offer this training. In the meantime, if you have specific needs and wish to have shorter, one-on-one training. I am available through my website at the following address: captivateteacher.com/how-i-can-help/1on1-training
Hello Paul, I have a project where I created my own navigation buttons using one of your tutorials. I placed them individually on each slide because I don't want to use the slide navigation buttons for the quiz. Everything works as it should except the pause and mute buttons on slides where I have advanced actions showing other states. For example, I have a course instructions slide with 4 tabs. Each tab has corresponding audio. When I enter the slide, both pause and mute buttons work. Once I select a tab, neither works. Do you have any idea why this is and how I might fix it? For this project, I am using Captivate Classic.
Hello Paul, I'm having issues with Captivate 2019 version 11. When published my slide will play the audio but not the text boxes/animations unless I push the play button. How can I correct this?
Ensure pauses on the slide from buttons or other interactive components occur after your animations. If the pause is near the beginning of the slide, the animations will not appear. If you still have trouble with this, you can purchase some one-on-one time with me, and I can review it with you. bit.ly/Cp1on1
hi, I have downloaded the adobe captivate 12 demo, (october 2023). I would need to generate a button that allows me to send back my video of 30 seconds. I had created this button with the older version of AC, but now I am no longer able to recreate it. Can you help me?
In Adobe Captivate 11 (Classic), there used to be a system variable you could manipulate to create a jump forward or back button by X number of seconds. Unfortunately this variable isn't available in Captivate 12. Hopefully at somepoint Adobe will re-introduce this feature/variable but at present I can't think of a way to do this with version 12.

Perhaps I'll tackle this at some point. Thanks for the idea.

I generally avoid play pause buttons for this reason. It really increases the complexity of advanced actions.
