Hot take: Nick and Maya have no chemistry at all and their dynamic is really boring! People just like Maya because they have nostalgia for the original trilogy.
Seeing her in Spirit of Justice next to Apollo, Athena, and Rayfa makes her look like a plank of wood.

“Your honor, because my client is a *fairly scrawny fourteen year old boy,* he could not have picked up the gun *that is explicitly stated to dislocate your arm if you aren’t someone like a police officer,* let alone shot the victim!”
Not to mention that everyone other than the prosecutor thought the boy was blind

Judge: Oh shit u right.
THAT'S IT!! THAT'S THE GAME!

Ace Attorney has always been a Kangaroo Court, but for me the bit I could never "forgive" was a case in the second game; at one point you genuinely, decisively prove that it was literally impossible for your client to have commited the murder. But the identity of the actual murderer is still up in the air, so you have to work it out or your client gets found guilty.

You may think that the justice system in Ace Attorney is unrealistic, illogical, and complicated and be inclined to lovingly mock the game for it. This is because the game is loosely based off of Japan's real life justice system. A lot of the weird bullshit Phoenix Wright has to do in the game echoes an irl issue. For example, you don't need to declare or share your evidence before the court date, so "updated autopsy reports" being introduced at the last second is actually pretty realistic.
Okay but the “actual item” vs “picture of item” straight up happened to me with the chief of prosecutors trophy. Bitter to this day.
It's not really that bad in that scenario though considering the objection is about the lance and the lance is only in the photo
And if the photo was taken the day of the murder and it has the date printed on it (some cameras do this) it’s more reliable (in my opinion)

Jesus christ, I don't know if Maya or Phoenix is the more pitiable one here
Naw, she got accused 2 times in spirit of Justice, and in the same case at that!
0:29 can we just appreciate that Maya is eating the popcorn in this image?
I always felt sorry for Gumshoe, especially in the long-ass-SL9-case in the first game. If you listen to him, he is under payed, serves his colleagues coffee as an Inspektor because they don't trust him properly, only has 1 friend that's basically a Cactus, tries to make the mascot of the police station with all his heart so it can get insulted from his colleagues and THEN he loses his job to protect Edgeworth who won't even give him a second look 😑 and we have to talk him into that!
Da fak! Screw those "tragic" backstories of the sidekicks, the real tragedy is right in front of us and we're supposed to find this amusing!
Gumshoe is the best boy 😭😭 honestly he’s been fired enough times for following his morals over doing his job/supporting corruption, he’s exempt from ACAB in my eyes

Things That Get Forgotten After The First Game:
- The Judge not being a brain dead moron (except in Rise from the Ashes, but his personal friendship with Gant would likely get in the way)
- Evidence Law in it's entirety (Both Wright and the Prosecutors just start tossing stuff that no one really approved and sometimes stuff that doesn't even have relevance yet)
- The Prosecutors facing actual consequences for constantly bullshitting in court and hiding things from everyone
Monokuma, Headmaster of Despair I mean, in all fairness to the second game I believe they have a couple moments where the last one is shown but Von Karma literally pulled her Whip card and got out of it.

Add "three-day trials" to that list as well, since we never got them outside of the first game, too.
ChessmasterOmeyrolx / Majora8J that’s actually a good point since most usually last two days at max, seems kinda off because id love a case where they are on day three and see what happens if doubt still lingers
