    Hello Santirx, today I did this job. I drained only 3.3 litres, which I find odd. She was on level ground. Refilled to the brim at 3.7 litres. I was hoping to get 99% of the 4.1 out of course, any comment on these figures? Regards.

    • @porscheDIY
      @porscheDIY  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This is fine… the 4.1L I listed is dry fill…3.3 to 3.7L sounds about right for wet fill…. apologies for not clarifying that… I will clarify in the description. As long as you filled it back to spill on a leveled surface, you are fine… it would be good to check level again at some point.

    hello.. Santirx.. I recently purchased a used macan and your diy videos have been so helpful. with your videos ive done; my engine oil change, transfer case oil, pdk oil and thought those were all the oils and have just now come up on this were there are two more fluids to change, Gearbox and Rear Axle oil. are these actually the last oils to change? Anything else about these that we should know.

    • @porscheDIY
      @porscheDIY  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes, gearbox and differential rear axle seem to be the ones you haven’t changed yet. As far as lubrication is concerned, these are it. Now, you also have the brake hydraulic fluid that you might want to flush, if you are not sure when it was done last. You might also want to change the coolant, if you are not sure either. Then, that’s it.

      @@lalala12345678900987 The filling capacity I show in the video is the dry filling capacity (4.1L), so it will take less oil when you are actually changing the oil. As long as you used the filling methodology I show (waiting some time in between short fills) and then seeing oil coming out of the fill port, you should be fine because the oil should be at appropriate level. If you are concerned, drive it for a while, then open the fill port and check if oil is still coming out. If not, fill again until it comes out… it should not take that much oil at that time.

Using your DIY videos, I plan to do a full transmission service (w/ both filters+gasket), transfer case, and rear diff service on my wife's GTS (it has 42K miles and none of that has been done yet). Hi, I recently changed the clutch side oil (6 litres) which has to be done every 60,000 km. No change period / maintenance interval is indicated on the transmission side, would you also replace it at 60,000? And I think there should be 4 liters in it. It appears that no filters need to be replaced. And if I'm right, the transfer case has been filled separately again, which has just been replaced and refreshed in my case. Regards Roel

      I did my gearbox side oil replacement at 100,000 miles (160,000km). Probably better to do this every other transmission fluid change (every 120,000km). No filters on this side. The transfer case is different and separate. I have chosen to replace the transfer case fluid every 40,000miles (60,000km) at the same time I replace transmission fluid.

    how many litter of transmission fluid and brake fluied does a 2015 2.0 macan need? Anyone can help?

    • @porscheDIY
      @porscheDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All Macan variants use the same PDK transmission, so, the fill quantity for the clutch side of the PDK is about 6.5 liters of fluid (if you remove pan and replace internal filter). It is about 5.5 liters of fluid if you don’t remove pan. This is not the video for clutch fluid transmission replacement, you can see that video here: PDK Dual-Clutch Transmission Fluid and Filters replacement - Porsche Macan S 2015
      th-cam.com/video/W-1JpAB2g0Y/w-d-xo.html.
      For this specific video you are commenting on, this is the gear oil for the gear side of the PDK, and the fill quantity is about 4.1L of gear oil.
      All these values come from the Macan workshop manual.
      For the brake fluid, there is no set fill quantity. You do what is called a bleeding process to fill the brake hydraulic system. You keep filling and bleeding until there are no bubbles coming out of the system…. PDK Dual-Clutch Transmission Fluid and Filters replacement - Porsche Macan S 2015

      @porscheDIY  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@healthimpactmodeling3096 This is a good question. It started when I purchased Motul DCTF high torque for PDK. First, they sent me bottles that have different color oil, and although they said it was just a colorant, I started to suspect something wrong. Then, when I started to look at technical information, realized that they changed the formulation and decreased the viscosity index significantly (meaning that the oil viscosity is now more susceptible to temperature changes). It was very different from OEM oil, so, I dropped it in favor of LiquiMoly DCT 8100. WHen I added LiquiMoly, I felt the PDK smoother than ever, smoother than with Motul. So, that convinced me to start moving away from Motul altogether. Changed oil in rear diff by LiquiMoly. Went to Redline on PDK Gearbox and Transfer Case. Then engine oil. I’m glad I did. Thanks again for watching and for your questions!

    • @porscheDIY
      @porscheDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would recommend you do your research. There are known problems with Timing Chain Cover or Valve Cover leaking oil due to snapped aluminum bolts (a problem from factory that they corrected mid-2018). There are also known issues with transfer case, and Porsche had extended warranty to 7 years and unlimited mileage on transfer cases. In my case, I had the TCC issue with 2 specific bolts I was able to repair myself for about $30, the right tools and a little bit of patience. My transfer case had been rock solid. The other issues I had are more random but not general issues. I had one of the rear air suspension bags fail and I replaced it myself (need PIWIS for that). And also the thermostat failed, and I also replaced myself. Those had been my most significant issues. But I would say that in general they are very reliable.
