Wonderboy K.O'd one guy with a variation of it, in one of his first fights in the UFC. He did it by hiding over the shoulder instead of the guard bcoz they were bladed it landed sideways of the guy but same idea the kick lifts and goes downward at the last moment before hitting just like a question mark kick.

Started throwing these after an oblique style kick to the body and I've gotten a lot more to land than with other variations

Hello Mr. Varga do you have any fighting tips for people with poor vision? For me I try for the mid range because the long range is nice but hard to see my opponent (other than a human shaped collage of colors) and short range I try to grapple because it can rely less on visions but I still get torn up in the clinch. I tend not to bite the bait for many feints because of my vision, which is why I've learned it is a bit more crucial for me to have strong defense/distance management (because I can't always trust what I think I see). Thank you for your time 🙏🏾

i landed this kick once when i was sparring with somebody who was going 100 percent with power for no reason and i think he also used bad techiques so i got lil angry and then i threw left teeps to the body ( southpaw) not hard teep but the ones u gotta do something about. then i teeped againg and the third time when i tried to teep the other guy dropped his hands to hip level and i changed height into a headkick very veryyy cleaan to the neck/literally head, but but i did not use power unlike the other guy. i just stuck with techique and gaught him with the kick and ofc he still tried to attack like i didnt land the kick. what do you gabriel think of this and what should i do next time if this happpends??

Just ask him to not throw as hard, if he doesn't listen stop sparring him. It's not worth it.

Awesome Gabriel, I have evaded atleast more than half of the question mark kicks thrown at me in sparring. After I watched this video I decided to use them more often myself to land better too. So I must say thank you so much Gabriel and I will join the Strike Ready monthly program as well! Keep up the awesome work, the defense course was beyond good! 🥊

I think, "question marks" are not used often - because - they're weeker than full roundhouse kick. You waste energy because of that "direction change" in the middle of your kick.

The thing with kicks is, the legs are really powerful. Like really seriously powerful. I'd say that a technically sound (not pulled, but not full force, just executed correctly) roundhouse delivered unopposed to a chin will knock out anyone if the kicker is, say, 65kg or more. You don't need all the power when kicking at the head, you just need to land.
