People like Dawkins worship Natural Selection as the Prime Mover, when it's likely Intelligent Design for all but the most basic viruses, NS secondary, with the intelligence to adapt offspring (and own cells in response to stimuli) built into and gathered by the parent at a very deep level. As I'm utterly against normal imaginary and techno Intelligent Design this is a problem! DNA Error correction and modification and DNA itself are separate, symbiotic things.

Ancient Judeans commonly ate non-kosher fish surrounding the time that such food was prohibited in the Bible, by a study published in the peer-reviewed journal Tel Aviv.
The Judean capital city of Jerusalem, bone assemblages included significant proportions of non-kosher fish remains, before Roman era.
The study is from 30 sites which date to the more than 2,000-year span from the Late Bronze Age (1550-1130 BCE) until the end of the Byzantine period (640 CE).

You will either learn something truly amazing, or (even better!) you can ADD to its resource of knowledge-- because we don't deal in "revealed truths" around here. Even when the series was current, people would point out corrections in the videos and Aron would acknowledge them and allow for discussion. That is how EVERY subject should be treated. Let me educate you Doc, 100% of the evolution we see if adaptation by mutations that create a slight birth defect that is sometimes beneficial. In other words degradation. Darwin’s finches have a mutation on the ALX1 gene creating a birth defect that creates smaller deformed beaks. That’s how it works. Evolution from a common ancestor or macro evolution would require the creation of new sets of genes making useful proteins that create a new system or body part. This is impossible since random mutations cannot create DeNovo proteins in groups. We have never seen macro evolution.

I like the simple joke that the monk was able to supernaturally materialize food at any time but spent the entire day pretending to meditate just so he could do it in the brief instant they look away (later on there is a hint that it could have been sleight of hand but it's set in a universe with magick regardless).

Aron Ra uses very simple, step-by-step explanations, while still using scientific terms.
He introduces the word, uses it until you understand its meaning, and then proceeds to a new lesson or term, while never treating the watcher like an idiot, but never bombarding them with a bunch of new terms.

Except thats not their standard. Their paradigm is an uncreated deity from whom everything follows causally. Materialism and evolution are logically just subsets of that first axiom. Thats their standard. If we assume that Neo darwinian evolution could be proven without even the slightest doubt remaining it still would not change this paradigm it just changes to "evolution therefore God" which is already some peoples believe (because science has knocked out the biblical account as a narrative from their pov). None of the materialistic empirical facts could ever touch their first axiom since materialism / naturalism is always defined as a subset of the metaphysical set (uncreated -> created) and thats not a unique position to religion. For example Idealism which does not use religious arguments similar to ID has a similar approach to reality. Idealism defines the mental as foundational to reality while the material observable world is defined as a dashboard object of our disassociated minds. Just because you hear someone making a god of the gaps argument doesnt mean it's their axiom. Maintaining that strawman is not the slam dunk you believe it is. In fact you are just employing a thought terminating cliché. Google it

That series is amazing and chock full of the details needed to truly understand our descent with modification, but it doesn't lend itself to being a quick response to "My daddy ain''t no monkey!". This video isn't as pithy as Erika's (Gutsick Gibbon) description (that I can't for the life of me remember right now), but is a great overview of how we classify organisms and how we fall right in line with it all.

I've commented alot on AronRa's amazing content, and many other atheist, or anti religious content over the last couple of years. Where I've mentioned that my mother, whom is a big time Christian, or at least makes that claim. For years, I've tried to explain to her how the mechanics of evolution works. And time after time, she pulls a cut me off, and tries to change the subject or will say to me "You believe what you believe, and I'll believe what I want to believe!". Well, if miracles were actually a thing, I'd say that one happened with her a couple of days ago. And I wanna thank AronRa for being someone that explains it in a way where people, especially someone who is 73 yrs old can understand. His Systematic Classification of Life series was what helped. But there was a heartbreaking moment as she wants to question it, but she can't, because it makes way too much sense and she knows it does. And I had to explain to her that just because evolution is a fact of reality. That it doesn't mean that she doesn't have meaning to her life or that we don't have meaning to our lives. Even though I believe that when we die, we simply no longer exist. And I used to say to her when I was a teenager - "Do you remember anything before you were born? That's what I feel how it's gonna be after our brains shut down. I understand it's a hard thing to get around for people who have been taught from birth basically. That we are God's creation, and that God made everything, the Bible is the truth, and Jesus is the one to follow." And I'm like AronRa when he says - "It's not death that I'm worried about. It's how I get there is the problem." I know that's not his exact words, but I think it's close 😊. She nearly fell out laughing about the episode where she learned that at one point in our evolution, that we were literal assholes. 😂Thanks AronRa!

As someone who never bought into religion to begin with, I just don't understand how people wrap up so much of their identity and purpose in a bunch of childish fables from the iron age.

    • @NoFalseTruth

@@chameleonx9253 The reason is because so many people are indoctrinated AS children. When youre taught by parents that you trust implicitly that god is real, it's hard to break free of it, ESPECIALLY if said parents are also hardcore with their beliefs and discourage learning information that goes against it. I was raised in the Jehovah's Witness cult, it took me 31 years (and 8 of the last years spent in mostly isolation due to agoraphobia and social anxiety) to start thinking for myself and break free.

@@chameleonx9253 My mom took me to church when I was a baby, until I was 10 yrs old. My first and middle name is Joshua Adam. And she literally wanted me to be a minister or pastor. I don't know why I never could believe any of the words of religious doctrine. I'd like to think that natural selection kept me from being able to have my brain turned to spam spread. So you could imagine what my mom was feeling as her 10-12 yr old baby boy told her that he believes that book is a load of horse shit! I used to have the typical tantrum a young teenager has sometimes. And she would say I was possessed by the devil. I'd tell her - "I ain't possessed by no devil. I know exactly what I'm doing!". I love my mom, and she is a good person. Just has been fed a bunch of insane bs from the time she was a little one. And I think she doesn't want to believe that her mother lied to her. Which I try to explain that no one was lying to her on purpose. And that her parents were fed the same deceptive nonsense, as did her great grandparents, her great great grandparents, on and on. I think alot of people today, that believe. Only believe because they're affraid to think differently. Maybe being affraid of becoming an outcast by other believers, or that they've lived with this belief for so long, they wouldn't know how to think if they decided to stop believing. Mom and her sister tried to tell me that the bible is the way to understand how our morality works. So I decided to read the damn thing one day. I read it once with confusion, the second time with even more confusion, a third time made me angry, the fourth time made me sick. It damn sure helped me with my morality, I agreed with that. Because I knew I was 1000 times more moral than what that book of lies, contradictions, manipulation, and insanity ever could. Just wow!

There must have been 100 of these silly euphemisms. lol
