I am amazed at all the different ways you catch fish. Not only do you catch them, you show how you catch them, the equipment, how you clean and how you cook them. I used to own a 25' offshore boat at Orange Beach nearly 30 years ago and I never even tried to catch fish from the inland waterway. I wish I had been able see your videos back then. I wish I could go back down there and fish. Watching you do it is the next best thing.

You can open up the entrance holes in your minnow trap if you want larger bait. The smaller ones can swim out easier, but if you don't want them anyway it means less sorting. Another entertaining and informative video. When you can't get to the water as often as you'd like it's great to watch videos like yours. Thank you.

Depending on where you're at, there might be a restriction on the size of
the entrance to the trap. Used to be
      one inch here.
Best to always check your local
      laws and regulations

I always used chicken liver in my minnow traps. I'm going to start using dry dog food since it's not as nasty or smells terrible. I know the wife won't let me use any of our Blue Buffalo dry dog food.
I don't eat fish, but that plate looks delicious. Nice job on creating it. We go to the Indian buffet every couple of months. I love the butter chicken and naan the best. It's so delicious when both are hot.

Another great video Stephen! Probably my favorite you’ve done! Great cooking segment. I like the idea of showing more about what goes into prepping for a successful trip, like catching your own bait. I think you could make some videos just on that facet that could potentially bring in new viewers.
The right way to spool a reel. Matching line size and reels. Matching reels and rods. Explaining rod sizes, weights, speeds. Best knots for different applications. When to use a swivel. When to use a leader. Hook types and their pros and cons. How much and what type of weight for different rigs and conditions. Etc.
It’s all stuff that you touch on in every video, It would just be fun to see you take it more in depth with the why’s, when’s and how’s.

Steve, just wanted to tell you that you have reinvigorated my desire to fish. I have logged more time on water than 99% of people out there but have been surfing a lot the past several years and not fishing as much. I still have a bass boat but no good for saltwater, I live
On Padre Island CC, Tx. Anyways, your offshore/light tackle vids have me looking for a boat so I can get back out there. I got real into offshore stuff few years back. Took lots of business customers out on charters and learned great deal and got my own equip for it. Cant wait to find right boat and go after some king, spanish, snapper, Mahi, tripple tail, other. Thanks for motivation.
Also, just like to say how cool it is that you use so much of the fish you keep. You seem like a very respectful guy and I hope that shows up as success in your life. Good luck to you!

That food looks great! I had a neighbor from India in Sarasota Fl. Who cooked curry type foods for her church. I was an offshore captain and brought home fresh fish quite often and she would make curry grouper and snapper for us. It was so good! That brought back some memories. Great job man!!! Be safe!

Hey dude I am no expert on filleting fish, instead of cutting the fillet off at the tail, if you stop just shy of the tail leaving it attach to the fish, it helps when holding the fish to remove the meat off the skin. I have a question for you. A while back I may have gotten confuse with your you tube channel "Bama Saltwater". My question is are you associated or related to "bama beach bums"?

Nice looking redfish and trout love redfish looks really good the way you cooked it I from south Louisiana bout 10 miles south of New Orleans I like my redfish on a courtbillion that's nice little spicy red sauce with the trinity in the sauce, and some creole seasoning, nice video for your minnow trap to keep your dog food and minnows separate get a small mess net cut the bottom out to your desired size to fit in your trap put your dog food in it tie off top of net and it won't get dog food and minnows mixed together
