Props for mentioning Mr. Thornton. He's forgotten more about fishing than most of us will ever know. I haven't seen any other TH-camrs mention him. When I took up surf fishing, I read everything I could find that he ever wrote, and because of it, was able to rapidly get my bearings in the salt, as a central MS/AL fisherman.
2-5 Cav here buddy. Good to see First Team Vets here on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Love your content, my 10 year old and i watch from over here in Mobile.
Great job man, it’s hard to beat a good old black snapper. Thank you for the great videos. I’m not able to fish like I use to so it’s a lot of fun watching you! Thank you for including God and thanking him in your videos! You are a class act!! Best of luck to you and God bless!
I like that Plano. Love how it is the one latch instead of the three on their other waterproof boxes. Price is very good for what you are getting. Black snapper are my favorite fish to eat also. Sweetest meat on the planet.
I know this video is old, but I just saw it. I met Mr. David while I was trout fishing on Dauphin Island last summer. Super knowledgeable and a genuinely nice guy. Love the videos.
Brings back old memories of fishing the wall. My parents owned a place in Grande Point years ago. I taught my sons to saltwater fish on that wall. Best fish there was a 30” cobia. Looks exactly the same. Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it. Have subscribed.
Another great video. I love the catch clean and cook. I’m down here now. I can see that bridge behind you from my condo. BTW. The weather sucks right now. Pouring rain.
Best way to cook all fish IMO. Tho I put my lemons in the cavity and put the garlic mutter on 1st for the seasoning to stick to. But the taste is most important. We are lucky we can catch some of the best food available. Nice one mate.
What type of fish can be caught here during Late July, possibly early August? Beside from snapper? I am considering a vacation visit to Orange Beach next Summer.. Thanks
Small suggestion, hook a smaller mullet through just the top of mouth, not too and bottom, it allows them to breath better, they will be healthier and last longer!!
Great video. Ive never fished the wall that far down before, a must do. I'm coming down in October. , did you throw your cast net from the wall or someplace else?
Big Snappers have been running in my area new Symerna/Daytona beach / Titusville. My mom and I went out on Labor Day and caught a few keeper magos. I was seeing bigger ones chasing finger mullet and I was kicking myself for not bringing my Cast next . Anyways love your videos man🤘🏽
Great video !! I must get a Engel Bait Cooler. I think using live bait may be a whole new world of fishing for me. I did manage to catch some nice Spade fish at the gas rigs off Fort Morgan. Last weekend. I can only imagine if I used live bait. The snapper looks absolutely delicious!! Keep them catch and cooks coming.
Any help or guidance on where to catch some finger mullet in orange beach/gulf shores? Im getting tired of waiting in that shrimp line at 5:30 in the morning after driving an hour from Bay Minette . Any input or advice would help.
Bama, you know that when you start using bigger baits that you should use bigger gear. Even with your bigger rod and reel I'm not sure you'd have unstuck that stingray though! They're like a suction cup when they burrow under the sand. I've never even heard of a Soap Fish either and I've been fishing in the gulf my entire life! Maybe they don't work their way down to Texas.
IF you like that Chef Paul's seasoning, I recommend you check out his jambalaya, ribeye, and gumbo video (all 3 in one youtube video). Dude is a legend!
Nice vid. But I always wonder why you guys don't use a simple plastic pearl under the weight. Every time the lead bounces on the knot while casting and fighting, it lowers the duracy of the line. Often there are sharp grades on it and even if not, the pressure damages it. That's a standard thing in Europe, and I think every fish you can save from dying is worth a few cents for that very cheap cosmetic. No offend, just wondering why... Good catches and greets from Bavaria
I love you Billy. I always love your videos. I am so proud of you. I am Mrs. Wellinonington. I was your 4th grade teacher. I miss you. Come back to me. I miss you little ol Billy.

Great video, I met David Thornton at a surf fishing clinic we volunteered for this past weekend. Super nice guy and very knowledgeable.

Another great video. I love the catch clean and cook. I’m down here now. I can see that bridge behind you from my condo. BTW. The weather sucks right now. Pouring rain.
You are easily my favorite fisherman. I just wish you posted videos more often , lol

Man grovers are so so tasty!!! Great video. Loving the fish name and regulations on the video.. keep up the good work.
I’ve learned a lot watching your videos … great job 👍, nice content always
Mangroves, triple tail, and flounder are some of the best eating fish out there!
Beautiful sunrise 🌅
2nd catch, clean, cook, and eat with another recipe I'll have to try. Nice mangroves too!
They're delicious for sure! Thanks for commenting
Another great video!! I am going to have to try some snapper cooked like that. It looked great!!
Just subscribed to your channel and loving it. Well done. I think we call it butter fish here in Jamaica
Good stuff man! That mangrove looked delicious.
Man you're having so much fun doing what you enjoy i really wish I could join you
What type of fish can be caught here during Late July, possibly early August? Beside from snapper? I am considering a vacation visit to Orange Beach next Summer..
Thanks
❤ definitely one of my family's favorite to catch and eat. Thanks for the recipe.
How many shears did you do or did you do any?
That baby spot is killer flounder bait. I have seen some monster fish caught on it. If you get bigger spot, they are excellent Cobia bait also.
im your new follower i enjoy the way you fish with ligther line.. fish on! from Philippines..
That "shiner" is a Mohara, they are the best snook and snapper bait. Softer than pinfish, big predators prefer them, easier to eat.

Small suggestion, hook a smaller mullet through just the top of mouth, not too and bottom, it allows them to breath better, they will be healthier and last longer!!
whats the best spot to fish in gulf shores?
State Pier is a good place!
Enjoyed your catch And keep video very imformative
Great video. Ive never fished the wall that far down before, a must do. I'm coming down in October.
, did you throw your cast net from the wall or someplace else?
I threw it somewhere else, but there is a lot of bait that hangs around the wall.
Excellent video! You make fishing so do-able for my sporadic visits to LA. Keep up the great work! Love the flag flying at the end of the video!

Do it. Live bait is king!
Good stuff! I use cut greenback for them here in Florida.
That dried up soap fish slime, almost reminds me of Jack boogers !!!
Any help or guidance on where to catch some finger mullet in orange beach/gulf shores? Im getting tired of waiting in that shrimp line at 5:30 in the morning after driving an hour from Bay Minette . Any input or advice would help.
I cast net at home but there’s plenty of public areas that’ll hold bait.
Awesome video brother. I have yet to catch a mangrove! It's on my kill list.
Very productive sea wall. Good content. I fish the Indian River off Hutchinson Island
Great catch and eat video, love it ! Question, why are the docks by your home not usable being disintegrated by weather ?
Grate job on the fish!
What size weight would you use for 2500-3500 and 4000-5000?
Bama, you know that when you start using bigger baits that you should use bigger gear. Even with your bigger rod and reel I'm not sure you'd have unstuck that stingray though!
