Steer by Wire or Fly by Wire just means that wires carry a signal between components that instruct them what to do instead of a mechanical linkage.

So what happens with a loss of all electrical power? And don't say it can never happen. On an airplane there is a wind turbine that pops out to provide electrical power. So I guess on this truck you just accept that you will die if that happens...

I had both the Tesla and the Prius nod. Bought my Prius in '04 and people waved and gave me the thumbs up. Then got my Model 3 in '19 when they were still pretty novel. Took my Cybertruck on a 100+ mile trip, today. I absolutely LOVE the handling! The ride feels like a limousine! With my playlist on the speakers, there was 0 road noise. I would not ever want to go back to anything that doesn't have steer by wire. The handling was superb! The Autopilot worked perfectly in both heavy traffic and open road - all I had to do was keep it between the lines. It takes a few rides to get used to the "rear view mirror," but now I would not want any vehicle that doesn't have that, either! The coolest thing is that I plugged it in when I got home and will have a full range (over 250 miles) when I leave tomorrow. And, agree, that this is AWESOME for picking up chicks! They're not shy about it, either! LOL! I'm convinced that this isn't just a pickup truck - it's the best large SUV out there. And I don't feel guilty about taking it on short errands, because I'm not polluting the environment with toxic fumes! Just sayin'.

Here's my curiousity on the steer by wire... If you're driving 5mph and turn the steering wheeltangle 15º the wheels will turn more than if you're driving 75mph and turn the steering wheeltangle 15º. So what happens if you are driving 45mph, turn the wheeltanble 15º, let off the accelerator, regen braking slows you down over the next 10 seconds down to 15mph. Does the steering angle of the wheels actually increase as the car slows down even though you aren't changing the angle of the wheeltangle? (wheeltangle = steering wheel rectangle)

Re the external appearance, for me after a while the side view of the section after the passenger’s door look a bit uninteresting at this point, maybe an option to fold down the side panels to resemble the traditional truck rear section. I could never make a turn like that in my 2007 F-150 XL Long Bed. I bought my truck new for $16,000 and now have 36,000 miles on it. It's a 4.2L with manual transmission. I need to start dealing with the rust. The age of manual transmissions is gone, so I'm hanging onto my truck until I can pick up a Cybertruck for $40,000.

Cybertruck owners should always put the sentry mode on at all times because people will always swing a bat at you knowing your cyberstruck won't dent and you have a victimless crime with no physical evidence of damage except for the sentry mode recording of assault on the car. People will intentionally push grocery carts or other things at you while doing no damage.

I love all of the hate in the comments, what a beautiful thing , that’s what the Cybertruck does, gets people talking and watching. I think it’s the best looking most advanced vehicle on the roads. Free advertising for Tesla for years! Elon , dragging people kicking and screaming into the future, and dragging the haters along with it! 😄😁

$150k with taxes here in canada for the tri motor. And probably near $100k canadian for the rwd. That's a good chunk of money.. you guys in the US are lucky to have tesla alot cheaper than us in canada. A model 3 rwd here cost almost 50k with the taxes and incentives applied.. where i believe it ia almost under $28k USD anywhere in the US. In other words, when you see a canadian with a Cybertruck it means its a damn rich canuck big shot guy… or a real gangster,

Many spend far more then $100k for a pickup in Canada, which never sees dirt, never tows anything, moves a case of beer a few times a year

The steering on the Cybertruck at low speed is not like a normal steering in that it will only require to turn the steering 320 degrees, instead of several turns.

anyone who knows how to actually drive knows right where to put that steering wheel in a side or anything, having a electric gizmo changing the ratio is dangerous besides the stupid square steering wheel ,

@@cardboardboxification This has been used in fighter jets for a while and I don't think that they would use it if it did not perform well. Always the same refrain whenever something new and different comes along.
