    I know its been a long time since you posted these but I wanted to say how I appreciate htem for memnotic purposes when I forget a part or see a different interpretation.

    Arbeau puts a step on each quarter-note; but these dancers step on each half-note.

      Arbeau's 16th-C French instructions are certainly useful for interpreting the Old Measures (English MSS from approx 1550 to 1650, often highly abbreviated). However, the English music fits the dances best using the formula here.

    They have got everything right but the lighting..needs a few rushlights, cruises, and betty lamps, even a candle in a spiral holder. Needs a visual context to take it further. That must have been considered,

      Yes, indeed it was. However, these videos are primarily for teaching the dances, so clarity (without shadows) takes priority over atmospheric effect. It would be charming to see any future videos by dancers in a historically re-created setting, with rushlights etc as you say.
