How to Crochet a Pumpkin Leaf (Small and Large Versions)

Stitches used (US terms):
CH - chain stitch
SL - slip stich
SC - single crochet
HDC - half double crochet
DC - double crochet
TC - triple crochet
ITTY BITTY PUMPKIN LEAF (STARTS AT 0:10)
Row 1:
Make a slip knot
Ch 4 (counts as 1 DC)
Into the first CH, DC 8 (9 total DC)
Sl into the same starting ch to end the row (does not count as a stitch)
Row 2:
Ch 3, turn (counts as 1 DC). DC into the same st
DC-inc into the next 2 stitches
DC 3 into the next st. Ch 2 and sl into the second ch from the hook
DC 3 into the next st
DC-in to the final 4 st
Sl into the center hole/starting ch from Row 1
F/o, leaving a long tail for sewing
BIG BOY PUMPKIN LEAF (STARTS AT 3:15)
Row 1:
Make a slip knot
Ch 4 (counts as 1 DC)
Into the first CH, DC 8 (9 total DC)
Sl into the same starting ch to end the row (does not count as a stitch)
Row 2:
Ch 3, turn (counts as 1 DC). DC into the same st
DC-inc into the next 8 stitches (18 total DC)
Sl into the same starting ch to end the row (does not count as a stitch)
Row 3:
Stitch 1: Ch 2, turn. Work one HDC and 3DC into the first st
Stitch 2: 4 TC
Stitch 3: HDC
Stitch 4: SC
Stitch 5: HDC
Stitch 6: 4DC
Stitch 7: HDC
Stitch 8: HDC, DC
Stitch 9: DC, 2 TC, ch 2, sl
Stitch 10: 2 TC, DC
Stitch 11: DC, HDC
Stitch 12: HDC
Stitch 13: 4 DC
Stitch 14: HDC
Stitch 15: SC
Stitch 16: HDC
Stitch 17: 4 TC
Stitch 18: 3 DC, 1 HDC

I don’t know if you realize this or not, but your large leaf looks just like a real pumpkin leaf! I was facing making my own pattern to mimic the real leaf (couldn’t find any real-like patterns) when I finally came upon your video. It was an excellent tutorial! Thank you for sharing this.

No way the algorithm is spying on me or something, I made a pumpkin container with the leaf coasters inside a while ago, but I keep losing the leaves and wanted to try a different pattern for them anyway, and BOOM, first thing in my recommended page, 59 views, 2 days ago - what?? I should also mention there’s only three rows total and two rows for what would be the main coaster part, so I’d maybe double up on yarn or size up on your hook to make sure it’s large enough!
