The void downstairs should have been a little hallway so you could easily get from the kitchen to the dining room. It would have made so much sense.
I was thinking that would be perfect as a little laundry room with the washer and dryer stacked together
I would have just shifted the stair one tile and deleted the “void” on both floors

A lot of times these videos don't necessarily highlight the shortcomings of the build kit but of the base game 😭 like the swatch situation? DIRE
Which wouldn't be as much as a problem if they let you choose the wood swatch separately from the upholstery swatch. (Like you don't even need to allow the color wheel)
@@steggopotamus RIGHT?? We had that technology in THE SIMS 2! It doesn't even need to be for every item either! Being able to change counters and beds would add so much

I love this house! I cant wait to reno it a bit to be a nice vacation party house instead of a family home, i think its really well suited for that!
I'd like to see her use this kit with other packs or kits to see what she thinks goes together well, could be helpful for people to see what matches
From the looks of it I’d say it goes well with wedding stories, romantic garden and maybe from pure vibes not looks get together
I also feel like it could go well for like a spanish style house
I think that tiles are supposed to be used in the pool. (I mean wallpaper and floor tile) But either way awesome build! 😎👍

A fancy house using this kit and using the book nook kit to have a huge library with a fireplace would be SO elegant.. mayhaps a maze garden too lmao
The pebble terrain paint under the new stepping stones makes them work really well.

I think she said it was a terrain paint from one of the more recent packs that was the most likely to bug. I've never had my terrain paint and i only have the basegame terrain paints available.

With the pool rock wall, Kayla, I would personally stack them in a mound form, by raising them and alt placing, make just a big hill of rock that are scattered all over, and than size down ground cover, and tuck them in the crevices of the rocks! 😊❤ LOVE YOUR VIDS!!!
You used curtains in the bathroom upstairs from Cozy Bistro too...

I think they are going to make a new world with the expansion pack and be like a Italian Villa (similar to the Monte Vista in sims 3) because they hinted something to do sith live and dates and wine and etc... And the kit act like a complement to the place. Maybe hotels resorts where people can travel and honeymoon

My best friend only has base game so I've built her some things with only base game and it's definitely different. I have so many packs so it get tough to not accidently use things she doesn't have 😅
Especially if you have some of the earlier preorder bonuses like that tree and bike from Cottage Living.
you should do a build with only the kits/packs that have been free, since a lot of people will have them!

5:40 the clippings with the extra rocks actually made it look like moss and I think it looks so cool. If I didn't know, I wouldn't guess there were objects on top of each other.

OMG, Kayla, the outdoor space is just GORGEOUS, as always :-) I LOVE the pool area and especially the secret garden - such a great idea. I admire how you can work out any style, whatever the kit or pack contains - you find a way how to use it. Riviera Retreat is not one of the worst, ofc, but you made even the Party thing work :D Well done. Love watching your vids.

i think this pack would go great with spa day to create a spa with an outdoor pool for relaxing. maybe even a community lot that has a fancy gym with a spa and outdoor pool.

I found it a bit odd that they made the half curtains but have them slotted to go to the top of windows. This pack is obviously Euro centric, and through most of Europe the half curtains have the half curtains touch the windowsill, so the top half of the window is bare but the bottom half has the curtain. This makes perfect sense if you think about it: lets the sun shine in, but gives the people in the home/cafe/restaurant some privacy. Especially if you're in a cafe near a window and have customers directly outside the window. I love half curtains for these reasons (it helps that I lived in Europe for 11 years and experienced this myself, so using them here in the States no longer feels awkward). Of course we have half curtains set up like that here as well, but generally there's a top portion that's also part of the package, that gets tied or pulled back during the day and closed at night. But there's nothing that says cozy to me than having a half curtain at night with a view of the stars and a fire in the hearth.
Totally with you here but unfortunately that is a problem with the software and the windows, not the curtains, since the windows determine where we can slot curtains and in order for that to change they would basically have to go back to every single window in the game and change their slotting, which we know EA would NEVER do💀
A lot of the taller windows have more than one height for curtains to slot, and if that isn't working for you, move the window, put the curtain on the wall where the window is going, and move the window back to it.
I would love to see a similar build with no pack restrictions! Such a beautiful style.

Am I the only person who thought that this pack came with tiled flooring and wallpaper bc you’re meant to put them in the pool to make it more fancy? (Edit: also! You can use different colors of wallpapers and tiles that kinda ‘change’ the color of the water! Like different colors look different with the blue, so it can appear that the water is a different color! ) ((that was a really bad explanation, I hope that you get it lol))

I like this pool kit I hated having to make my own waterfalls so time-consuming lol one of my houses that I made has a lot from this kit.
There has to be some kind of love island type challenge to go along with this pack and weddings

Can you do a build with jungle adventure and an indoor pool?
Looking at this if someone had this kit, and either for rent or the pack with San myshonu I believe is the world basically with apartments you could build a really nice patio/ community pool because of the rock with the fountain and all the rock details that came with the kit

Watching lilsimsie build with the Riviera kit makes me feel so strongly that I wish a bunch of the kits were bundled into a stuff pack. Like this kit plus the castle kit would make for such a beautiful setting, but the kits are so expensive for the content they have that it makes me want to not buy them at all. At the same time though they do have some really cute stuff. It's just infuriating that getting 2 kits is like the same price as a stuff pack and when you look at laundry day or something... there is no comparing the quantity of content. Like really just give us the ability to buy a stuff pack and get one free and I would probably buy them

My tv is above my fireplace in real life
I feel like the landgrabbs would have the Riviera retreat suff in there backyard 1 because they are rich and can afford it and 2 the are in the desert so they are bringing their surroundings into the backyard

The reason you don’t put a tv above a mantel is that it’s tacky to make a television set the focal point of a room. When entering a room with a fireplace the eye is naturally drawn to it; how you style it is key to the general vibe. With a tv the general vibe is, “I didn’t bother. I have no taste and/or I give zero effs about my environment.”
But for most people, the TV is totally the focal point anyway.
