Listened to this for the first time just now... And I realized how heartening it is to hear today's folk singing the songs of our times. Not that it already wasn't before these guys, but "Time after Time" suddenly FELT timeless; a feeling of tender assurance that people will still appreciate the same things we appreciated back then; a teaspoon of comfort at bedtime for dreams of teddy bears, guardian angels and Mom; our protection from these wildly unfamiliar times. Great harmonies. The dynamics in the vocals and guitar playing was top notch. Excellent arrangement. Mic placement in that room was exquisite. The acoustics in that room was great. Well tuned. FYI, they never get the credits, but this song started with a moderately successful Philadephia band called the Hooters. Their leader Rob Hyman wrote it, the Hooters backed up Cyndi Lauper, and SHE got the Grammy, and in her acceptance speech she threw a call-out that went like this, "and I'd like to thank my band before I had a band." That's it, didn't mention Rob Hyman, or the Hooters, even though Rob got a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year, 1984 (yup, Rob, not Rob and Cyndi). I was in Philly throughout the '80's and what's in Wiki is not how it went down. So here's a shout-out to Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian an the boys of the Hooters, who gave Cyndi her first number 1 hit. Everything after that, well that was all her.

To be fair it was probably accidental. I’ve done it before. The thumbs up and thumbs down are too close to each other on a phone if you have fat thumbs. I’ve caught myself after hitting it thankfully. I don’t know if I’ve ever not caught it before though.
