    CANNERS:
This is similar to the old canner that has lasted me for decades. It has the weighted jiggler which is easier to maintain the pressure with less hovering over the stove to make sure it’s at the correct pressure: amzn.to/42fonwJ
If you can afford a bigger one, it will be worth the investment if you plan to do a lot of canning. This one doubles as a water bath canner: amzn.to/3N9foJp
    PRESSURE COOKER FOR MEALS:
Please choose a stainless steel pressure cooker, not an aluminum one. Old aluminum pots are pitted which indicates that aluminum leached into the food! This one is similar to mine. I cook dry beans in the pressure cooker and then use it to also can pint jars. amzn.to/3MGTWKh

It almost hurts to see you harvesting the moss. I love looking at it, and it's not as plentiful around here as other parts of the state. Last time I was in Dunnellon, I saw one oak that probably had as much Spanish Moss as my whole town :-)
The last place I had a garden, I actually started buying bags of leaves from a neighbor kid. His yard had too many, and mine had none.
Pigeon Peas make pretty bushes in my opinion. I grew them as ornamentals and let my neighbors pick the peas back then.

I get it. People with manicured lawns don't want beautiful moss in their trees. It's part of the landscape and I wish people wouldn't clean it out to throw it away. I love that you bought bags of leaves from a kid. I've paid kids to rake in order to help them go on a mission trip. It helped both of us!

Yep. I know. These tips work about 6-8 weeks before planting time, no matter where you live.
