Have seen this episode many times and have only just noticed Hilda and Emily's reaction when the police officer said to Ken "I reckon you were very lucky Mr Barlow" 15 years earlier Val was killed in a fire.
@@heididegg8478it was 17 years earlier that Val died, it was 1969. 15 years before this he was with Deirdre, so the dates don't add up anyway. Edit: typo 2 instead of 1 on 17.
@@peter0010 Sorry? That equals 17 years. But Val died in 1971, which is 15 years earlier. And 15 years before 1986 Ken was a widowed single father to young Peter and Susan; Deirdre had not yet arrived on the Street.
Ty so much for uploading these episodes great fan from nz here ❤
What a great soap corrie was,sad to see what's happened to it.
Best and dramatic episode of 1986
At the start the shots of the ginnel and back of houses really look nostalgic for some reason, with the soft sunlight
Julie Goodyear said in an interview that, the night dress she was wearing was flame proof.

Val Barlow was electrocuted
@@heididegg8478 She may have been we can't be sure there was a fire too.

@@framey3830 yes, typo, 17, not 27, corrected now.
Val did die in 71, after some research.
This episode gave me nightmares as a kid, I was 7 at the time
It's just a soup it's not real
@ConnorWilson2891 at the age of 7 it could traumatise you

Bet's terrifying scream
love how they leave a load of shit from a split bag on pavement at end rather than sweep up
The brewery wouldn’t have been able to pull The Rovers down because it’s joined on to Number 1
Not necessarily because number 7 is in the terrace and that fell down and was an empty gap for a while
By my reckoning the toilets were in Ken’s house. Mind you they seem to have changed that in the new set.

"Stop picking on your dad." Just what my mum says to me.
is it just me, but is Terry Duckworth's chest actually wobbling when he runs down the street?
Poor bet she lost everything but she got the New stuff when she left
Thank 👍
Man breasts
what a waste of bettys hot pot
Not really, in that intense Inferno, they managed to cock multiple hotpots!
The pre 1986 Rovers looked terrible by modern standards, blatantly a set and not believable as a real pub at all.
With the Snug Select and Public bar spilting it into 3. The decor was rather beige and brown
I Remember most backstreet pubs being exactly like the pre fire Rovers. Beige and brown covered the nicotine rather well
It looked better by the 90s imo. Better set design and lighting
