I took my 2023 Elantra N to the track completely stock and it held up very well. I melted the PS4S tires after my fourth session and had a little heat soak on the brakes, but it was amazing. The limited slip makes this car amazing out of corners and it doesn't understeer. The auto rev matching makes it smooth. As a front-wheel drive car, I can't believe how good it is. Any capable driver can have a great driving experience in this car - and the exhaust sounds so good I let off the gas just to hear it sometimes. The only gripe I have is the wheel hop on launch. Why? Many reasons why FL5 looks better then the FK8 both interior and exterior and actually has presence on the road. I own this car in Australia, it's called the i30 Sedan N. I actually use it to teach people to drive in so the vehicle is dual-control. The car is fantastic because you can drive it in ECO mode with the students, but also ramp things up in N mode for some fun and to showcase the difference in handling. It's ready to go on the race track and can be driven around as a daily so it's perfect! The engine, performance and adjustability is where it's all at. I'm super happy to see you enjoyed the vehicle, Misha. It is very sad it's not available in Europe but I guess that makes it unique. Thanks for a great video on the same car as mine. ❤
One thing to add is that those cars have a thing called octane learning which sadly resets every time you refuel the car. This makes the car go from 15-16psi to 18-19psi resulting in a quite noticeable difference.
@@Cernunn0s90 There are two ways to do it, you can do it by doing multiples pulls, but I'm not too familiar with this one or you can do it by going between 109-159 km/h for 5+ minutes in the car max gear, but yea speaking from experience it does not always work first try.
You can bypass that all you have to do is fill up no more than 3.2 gallons(107 miles) of gas that way it tricks the ECU to keep octane learning. I get 18-20 psi all day and beat cars I shouldn't. Truly one of best bang for your buck nowadays.
After watching the i20 and i30n videos, I'm so excited to see my car on your channel. I'm glad it impressed. I've loved it already at nearly 30k miles in 1 yr
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Hyundai hire some BMW engineers to help design these N cars? If so, it probably explains why it’s so darn good for being a FWD platform.
My wife and I had the pleasure of test driving an Elantra N and it was supremely fantastic. Probably 90% of the fun factor of our Focus RS with more comfortable seats and better tech. We just wish it was a hatch/estate.
I am an Elantra N user in Korea. In Korea, it is called Avante. It's a shame it's not sold in Europe. Korea also does not sell the I30N, Fastpack and I20N. In Korea, only Kona N, Veloster N, and Avante N (Elantra) were sold. Many people were disappointed that we do not sell I30N, Fastpack, and I20N in Korea. Kona N and Veloster N have been discontinued, and Elantra N and Ioniq 5N (Daddy N) with revised specifications are on sale. I'm happy to see this video! I hope it was a good memory.
As a Hyundai owner I'd appreciate some more variety concerning sedans / saloons here in Europe. With the Ioniq and i40 discontinued there's only the i30 Fastback and Ioniq 6 left.
@@BaGGuiToruL yeah, I was contemplating buying an i40 but went with an i30 wagon instead. Driving an Ioniq PHEV now. Also the i40 sedan was canceled for Germany. In the end, only wagons were available. 🤷🏻♂️
Love my Elantra N DCT , i have the octane learning done so i hit 18-20 psi everytime vs the stock un learned 14-15 psi. I beat cars i shouldnt be beating ,drag/circuit racing. Truly one of the best bang for your buck out there nowadays.
@CarsUncovered gotta run the car to damn near empty around 15 miles or less and don't put more than 3.1-2 gallons of shell 93 v power that way you trick ECU to keep the full boost. It's about 100-105 mile range for gas so you just might have to pump every other day but it's worth it imo.
@@Jcastro9444Doesn't work for me. I tried everything. I left the car running while filling...Reset. I put 3 gallons in....Reset. I put 2 gallpons in....Reset. I put 1 fkn gallon in....Reset. Nothing works and it drives me up a gd wall.
Its such a great car. Ive been waiting for someone to take it onto the nurburgring. Even in wet conditions it looks like its doing great. Tou weremt even in full N mode and it was tearing it up. As an owner i could tell there was no octane learning cause it never hit peak boost at 20psi so even more power to take advantage of. Great driving though. In dry conditions id love to see an actual lap time
Noticed he had the suspension on the softest setting and he had the steering in the middle. Would love to see what you would do with a manual transmission version with stiffest setting suspension on dry payment. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of people complaining about the octane learning but I'm sure it was at its peak setting driving on a track at wide open throttle and the PCM figured it out.
Softest wouldn't be fastest in this car even in those conditions. I've done semi wet track days you get better drive every time with suspension in middle or hard setting on a track.
My wife wanted a new elantra so we got an SEL model. Main use case was for the 10 hour road trips we would take at the time, 40+ mpg was very useful. What I came to realize was that even the standard car has a well designed chassis and platform. Comes with 225/45r17 all around from factory too. I took it in the Malibu canyons on a trip out there once and can confirm that they are well designed. Just too bad ours had the cvt, I am surprised it survived those canyons
i have the same problem with the toyota GR corolla wish we had those in EU aswell. would be the perfect 1 car stop to have fun with and to do daily activities with.
Will we see an IONIQ 5N someday? I hope it comes with much better tires than the stock ones. People who have already tested it on the Korean circuit say that the car holds up, but the tires don't, so it doesn't really get the full performance out of it.
As an Elantra N owner, it's sad to say, but we can't buy the i30 N and i20 N in South Korea. Instead, 'The New Elantra N' with Smart cruise control was recently released.
I was waiting for a video like this! :D Such an amazing car. It's crying shame Hyundai decided not to bring this car on sale in Europe. That is one hell of a beast for it's price range. Had privilige of driving in one and the sound, cornering, bump absorption and acceleration for 280 PS car is just astonishing. A missed opportunity by Hyundai I would say.
I highly anticipated a road spec EN will eventually take the nurburgring, I have a 23 DCT myself and I'm in love with this car. Sure it ain't as elite as the Type R but it can definitely keep up with it on the track, awesome Misha!
In the country where I'm currently in, I live in a village where people import hyundai elentra, avante, Kia k3/cerrato from Korea. There's a guy who has this previous gen elentra but with similar big wheels, quadro exhaust pipes and bit of aero around the whole body, it says avante sport in the back, very nice car in dark red aswell
I have a Veloster N and the car is fantastic! The Elantra N is a very solid car! Misha i know is a Veloster N in Germany the only one the owner move and ship the car over it will be nice if you can reach out to him
My cousin has one and my only experience in it is going on a trip to a car show. The only thing I dislike about the car is the lack of cup holders in the back seat.
I bought a new 23 Elantra N last year, Cyber Grey, and absolutely love it . It's been a blast. I'd love for Misha to get another chance to drive it , but with good weather, so he can really get on it. Are there much better cars? Yes, but it's a amazing bargain
I loved my 2022 Elantra N for about 1 month...... I bought a brand new 2022 model and from the experience I have had I would try not to be too sad that you can not buy one where you live. Mine is just a daily driver and one month after I bought it I dropped it off at the the dealership for Window tint. Two days later when I returned to pick it up the minimal power steering it is supposed to have in N mode was missing and the car handles more like it's in normal mode. I also had two fuel injectors go out within two months of each other. My car and the local dealership have both left me very disappointed... I hope everyone else that has an Elantra N enjoys their car and has a much better experience than I have had but I will not ever buy another Hyundai again.
in Europe there is the Hyundai I30 sportback N it's basically the Elantra N but it's the i30 N sportback version. hope this helped, So Misha, don't be that sad, Hyundai thought of us in Europe as well :D
I waited for the European launch of the Elantra N since it was announced. I then realised that this car will not be available for us poor folks. I bought instead the Kia Stinger 2.0T (RWD).
If someone told me 30+ year ago whilst they were making stellas & ponys that they would make a well built, track capable and a nice looking car, i would never believe them. They'll be a few of those imported into Europe i think. Also pity the track was wet.
I have a Elantra N with a jb4 tune, and intake. You need to hold down your traction control button to turn off that collision safely, stability control and traction control
2L, 276 HP, 0-60 in 5.2, some with mods have broken the 5 sec mark. Also dyno's are getting 270 to the wheels, we think Hyundai low balled it and that Crank HP is closer or over 300 HP.
Fun is subjective to every person :) that’s why it’s great to have options. I drove both manual and DCT back to back before purchasing and fell in love with the DCT. All depends on use case as well!
@@fabioribeiro5071not according to every single motoring journalist and racecar driver that has ever compared the two. Pretty much all serious racecars are DCT now
I think the temps were high due to the fact that he was revving it out, but not going that fast because the track was wet. That means not a lot of air was going through the radiators. Funny enough it would probably be better if he _was_ able to push it harder and go faster so that fresh fast air could be piled in the front grilles!
I remember when the GR Yaris was released in Europe but we didn't get it here in the states. It infuriated me how it got so little attention here. Even die hard enthusiasts seemed to know so little about it. Of course that all changed when we finally got the GR Carolla. Still, I wish we would've gotten the Yaris. The 3 cylinder seems to be best suited for the smaller car.

These new N cars are so incredible. Absolutely love the shape of the Elantra. Shame we will not see them in Europe.
I bought a Kona N about 6 months ago and it is one of my favorite cars I’ve ever driven. Love it every day
I'm a secret admirer of elantra N. I love the way it looks. Would love to own one
One thing to add is that those cars have a thing called octane learning which sadly resets every time you refuel the car. This makes the car go from 15-16psi to 18-19psi resulting in a quite noticeable difference.
How long does that take?
@@Cernunn0s90 There are two ways to do it, you can do it by doing multiples pulls, but I'm not too familiar with this one or you can do it by going between 109-159 km/h for 5+ minutes in the car max gear, but yea speaking from experience it does not always work first try.
Just tune it and you get 20+ every day!
@@LTLIB1933 20? Try 120+
You can bypass that all you have to do is fill up no more than 3.2 gallons(107 miles) of gas that way it tricks the ECU to keep octane learning. I get 18-20 psi all day and beat cars I shouldn't. Truly one of best bang for your buck nowadays.
Very clean trajectories! Smooth and efficient drive!
And yes the car seems like a train on rail. A fast train.
Yes
Albert Biermann was a former M exec at BMW who hyundayi hired and he had a lot input on these N cars
@@Pete0126 The i30N was essentially his pet project and if I remember correctly, he also worked on the 8 speed DCT.
No, they hired THE BMW engineer. Albert Bierman.... Father of the M cars. Also Lamborghini engineer if im not mistaken.
@@Pete0126Dont forget the Kia Stinger. The child everybody likes, but no one wants to adopt.
I hope we get to see one on the ring.
My wife and I had the pleasure of test driving an Elantra N and it was supremely fantastic. Probably 90% of the fun factor of our Focus RS with more comfortable seats and better tech. We just wish it was a hatch/estate.
There's the hatch one, and it's the i30N
@@baoquoc3710 No doubt. But we live in the US and for whatever reason nobody is interested in such a thing here.
@@afterburn2600the veloster N is a thing
“Oh shit, I’m retarded” had me😂
I am an Elantra N user in Korea.
I hope it was a good memory.
i30n 은 근데 아엔보다 안좋음
아엔은 신형플랫폼이라 고속구간에서 안정성이 뛰어남
I wish we had a Korea spec elantra in the US. I would own one if it came with adaptive cruise control.
As a Hyundai owner I'd appreciate some more variety concerning sedans / saloons here in Europe. With the Ioniq and i40 discontinued there's only the i30 Fastback and Ioniq 6 left.
Many will do, but usually most people love the "suv bullshit" and i40 sucked at sales, i drove one i40 tough, loved it.
what? The ioniq is discontinued?
@@SimoBenziane Ioniq without a number, a compact sedan, was available in EV, hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations.
@@BaGGuiToruL yeah, I was contemplating buying an i40 but went with an i30 wagon instead. Driving an Ioniq PHEV now. Also the i40 sedan was canceled for Germany. In the end, only wagons were available. 🤷🏻♂️
@@SimoBenziane the original Ioniq though, the hybrid one before it became a strictly EV lineup
Love my Elantra N DCT , i have the octane learning done so i hit 18-20 psi everytime vs the stock un learned 14-15 psi. I beat cars i shouldnt be beating ,drag/circuit racing. Truly one of the best bang for your buck out there nowadays.
Same but it resets every time I put gas in. Is there a way to keep it Octane Learned so I don't have to keep doing it?
@@CarsUncovered might be your gas choice? I've only found that shell 93 v power works best
@@Jcastro9444 I use Phillips 66, it's a top tier gas based on the website I checked out. Hmm
In dry conditions id love to see an actual lap time
Oh man…exhilarating albeit vicariously. Have an EN manual, bought mine new and can’t stop loving it. I wish I could have Misha drive it for me 🙏🏼👍🏼.
Most underrated car rn. In love with this car I would buy it again
Softer suspension is often times faster
Softest wouldn't be fastest in this car even in those conditions. I've done semi wet track days you get better drive every time with suspension in middle or hard setting on a track.
Hardest setting's way to hard on this track.
Owner here, wonderful drive
Man, that's a well put together modern platform. That's what you get when the head of the M Division joins Hyundai. Good car.

"Most impressive thing is you just jump in the car and drive..." Yes, this!!!
The track looks very pretty in the Fall
i have the same problem with the toyota GR corolla wish we had those in EU aswell. would be the perfect 1 car stop to have fun with and to do daily activities with.
Suspension pretty much is the same gen2 with the FL i30N hatch and the CN7.V1 N... the Sedan was built to feel like a rear wheel drive car
Will we see an IONIQ 5N someday? I hope it comes with much better tires than the stock ones. People who have already tested it on the Korean circuit say that the car holds up, but the tires don't, so it doesn't really get the full performance out of it.
Next year! It was shown off at Goodwood this year.
fun fact in Korea there is already an Ioniq 5N used as a taxi
So glad to finally see you drive this car, im so glad i waited for the facelift, hopefully you can drive one of those too, lots of changes!
if this were available in EU i'd instantly buy one
new 2.0L petrol models with ~280hp are awesome, sound is also good
I30N is from what I know, its smaller but it still has that awesome exhaust and features
Or i30 N fastback, which is more like a sedan
As an Elantra N owner, it's sad to say, but we can't buy the i30 N and i20 N in South Korea. Instead, 'The New Elantra N' with Smart cruise control was recently released.
@@silviu4365 yeah but the elantra n looks better in my opinion
i have a 2.0 165ps 2017 mazda 3 but I'm saving up for this as my next car! for the last 2 years, cant wait to own one within the next 2!
Live 5 minutes from 2 local tracks, own a manual EN. EN has set the SCCA time trial record 2 years in a row now where i drive at. Pretty neat car!
I’ve driven the veloster and Elantra N versions and I’m a honda guy. These cars feel mushy and soft compared to an Si or Type r.
Misha you definetely need to tell him to bring it back when its dry. Would love to see a true lap with you at the wheel with this car.
Hyundai is doing such a good job with N cars. fr I really love N series of hyundai really top job
U mean the beamer boys are doing a great job?
I have a Veloster N and the car is fantastic! The Elantra N is a very solid car! Misha i know is a Veloster N in Germany the only one the owner move and ship the car over it will be nice if you can reach out to him
My cousin has one and my only experience in it is going on a trip to a car show. The only thing I dislike about the car is the lack of cup holders in the back seat.
These things are brilliant. CTR rival at a very reasonable price. Owner seems like a good dude. His reaction was great.
God my hearts racing before you even drive it, i love my kona but its not an n, just the nline, i wish i could experience that feeling
I rented an Elantra N to take to the backroads in arizona and I wish i bought one.
I’m telling you, I’ve had fun cars. This blows all of them away, it’s an incredible car. Nothing like hitting backroads in this thing!!
I would love to see more Elantra N in Europe, especially in Germany.
It is a really nice car, but to be fair, my Kia Stinger is not bad too ;)
Stinger is also amazing car!
@@DkElija And i love it :)

That face and comment from the owner at the 1:00.00 mark, lol! Priceless.
his face was totally priceless. he was totally like wtf just happened :D

I waited for the European launch of the Elantra N since it was announced. I then realised that this car will not be available for us poor folks. I bought instead the Kia Stinger 2.0T (RWD).

Living in the US, I was jealous of the type R's before the FK8 came out
The EN is a great car, but I went with the VN because I love hatchbacks. I only wish it had the same turbo as the EN and KN.
If someone told me 30+ year ago whilst they were making stellas & ponys that they would make a well built, track capable and a nice looking car, i would never believe them. They'll be a few of those imported into Europe i think. Also pity the track was wet.
The owner's reaction on the steering adjustment was the funniest.
what a beauty. I was instantly interested.
Ok that's the final approval I needed.. The only concern is the oil temperature. 120-123 all along and as Misha said not even pushing
The N cars are a Hyundai i'd buy, very nice!
You have to do it again when it dry , and you weren’t in N-mode which is the track mode!! You were in a custom mode

Nice looking car! Maybe you can add in the beginning some specs like the engine size, hp/torgue, 0-100 times etc (like the AutotopNL video's)
2L, 276 HP, 0-60 in 5.2, some with mods have broken the 5 sec mark. Also dyno's are getting 270 to the wheels, we think Hyundai low balled it and that Crank HP is closer or over 300 HP.

we have none of them :(
A friend has the n30 and is very happy with it, cherry on the top is very cheap insurance for how capable a car it is
I have same car but in manual trim, its more fun than DCT, but DCT is faster.
Fun is subjective to every person :) that’s why it’s great to have options. I drove both manual and DCT back to back before purchasing and fell in love with the DCT. All depends on use case as well!
Dct might be faster on a straight line, bit it’s slower on track.
You are right. Manual transmission is fun !.
@@fabioribeiro5071not according to every single motoring journalist and racecar driver that has ever compared the two. Pretty much all serious racecars are DCT now
As an N owner I was amazed at how high the oil and water temperatures were.
I think the temps were high due to the fact that he was revving it out, but not going that fast because the track was wet. That means not a lot of air was going through the radiators. Funny enough it would probably be better if he _was_ able to push it harder and go faster so that fresh fast air could be piled in the front grilles!
In 6MT version of EN, Engine temp and oil Temp are more inline... Also, they recommend 0-30 for that car.
