Minipix (Camtrix) Security Camera Actual Review - Is It Worth It? How Good It Is? Is It Just a Scam?

- Check out my Camtrix Security Camera review to find out if it’s a scam or legit product, if Spyfocus is any good, if Minipix is a good quality WiFi camera or just a piece of trash. In the video you’ll find out a little bit about the setup (ask in the comments if you need more info), about its features, audio and video recording.. And, of course, you’ll see the actual footage that was taken during the day and in the evening with some rapid movements test. I am glad I watched your video. Now I know the Minipix Camera is fairly cheap "NOTHING" what their advertisement States. It may not be a scam but it's definitely "FALSE ADVERTISING". Thank for your video.

Thank you very much. I was curious. I appreciate the work in your review. I currently use the Alfred camera app my brother put on an old smart phone for me. It worked great as a peep hole camera until they started making their own cameras. Now a few things have changed. I can still see who is at my door better than looking through the peephole ❤

I tested one of these cameras. It requires an Android app be installed from a website, not the Google Play Store. It needs to be taken down and put on change every day. And it contacts an IP address in China.

It's a scam if they don't provide you with the service you have bought into. Where you see the video footage from a infrared camera being used with the voice over exploration of the HD night vision feature thats not true to the device's capabilitys. Maybe showing one thing while describing another isn't against the law but it certainly is deliberately Installing buyers confidence by misleading them to believe the product they are looking at is the same as the one they are hearing about. So in that context they are trying to Con people into buying their products without apology. And you're in on the con if you try to claim otherwise.
I've also been approached by doggy online popups to review their products and received completely different devices from the one's they ship out. I ordered the rugged smartphone from Duggie e6(same phone hardware as the Almoof M1) and night and day compared with what they asked me to review so I did my review on the actual phone you get and they were not happy with that saying it was a prototype model that was sent by error (must have use the same software to organise the delivery I imagine) the good thing about it is that they sent me a other one so I sent them back nothing, I kept both of them opening up the two phones good and bad to see what they were doing. Basically from the looks of the components and build quality they went no exspences spared. Them devices cost more than than £500 in hardware alone software was a hacked Blackberry prosser diligently scised with their branded 36s full entro startup using borrowed CGI backdrops graphics and on the animation screens savers in demo phone 1. A complete 7s clip from last year game interstellar2. Did they have rights to the gaming industry hard expensive programmers? I thought not
The phone I bought from them looks like a chimp put it together with hammers! Nothing short of a miracle it's working at all by the amount of soldier holding the capacitors in place. Talk about trying to save money on manufacture! Was missing screws and glued down instead. I've a video of it but was taken down like every other thing I exposed.. Canccel it an it never happened....

Hi there, good job on the demo and review. It is as you stated, cheap but does what I need. Only question I have is that after a long charge to the battery, it does not keep charge. Also, the tape is really bad, 15 minutes at best for sticking. Let me know if you got any hints to what I did wrong or I need to adjust. thanks again

What you did wrong is bought this POS, instead of Wyze home cameras.

Do not buy via the link it takes you to a supplier based in Lithuania who charges you £50 and takes over two weeks for it to arrive from China. Same cheap piece of rubbish available from Amazon with next day delivery only £8. Do not waste your money it is awful only fit for the bin

I don't think you addressed their big selling point - no monthly contracts. Is it able to store video photos for a long period of time?

Alfred it has an SD slot
My indoor Blink cameras pick up movement from inside the house through glass.So if anyone tries to get in the camera warns me on my mobile with a video of the person outside trying to get in.Long before they can get in to turn off the wi fi.

Any ideas how long the battery in this will last ? On average …..
1 hour max after a 10 hour plug in charge. Had 3 cameras dont get these junks.

Yeah, it can, especially if you need to record inside the car where there’s less movement, but if you want to record the road, then it’s better to find something else
Why i can’t connect my device to bluetooth
All these "security" cameras are gimmicks for people who do not know too much about monitoring and security. You pay no subscription, but where are your videos stored? Who owns them? And how do you get them whenever you want? Who do you depend on to use this camera now, and in 6 months time?
Exactly, where are the products that do not connect out of your network to a server somewhere goodness knows where, were any creepy employee/owner can screen camera footage for their side gig in voyeur porn filming you while you get undressed, etc. It seems pretty simple to provide a device that simply connects to your router and streams a live feed to any device. Sure, it's requires an operating system on the device running some basic software, but there are plenty of options out there to do this.
I had 3 of these Camtrix (Scamtrix) cameras. It was junk. When i checked my wi fi router i found a new MAC address that had nothing to do with the 3 cameras. Its a Chinese company operating out of Lithuania.
TY do you KNOW or recommend something similar but free of the bugs you mention? And is good quality. I admit I did not KNOW of any issues of where the recordings went once recorded and how to access footage. Or how OTHERs could see it. I will research, but like your information. Also for a tiny wifi camera the battery life has got to be terrible.

To be honest, for a camera in general, seems pretty good to me😊, and it's small and cute looking 😊
This camera is being heavily promoted as a Canadian Engineered device, and that we Canadians should opt for it. I have, from other TH-camrs, who said that it is also sold under a different brand, that is Made in China. For me, Chinese or other manufacture is OK if the quality is there.
From what I saw, I believe that the selling price should be at max, about $150.00, Canadian dollars, anc come with attachments. The lifespan of the device, due to what appears to be a non-replaceable rechargeable battery, is about 3 years.
I will check it out in one years time, when I believe, competitors will have their products available.
Also advertising that it was made by two Australians!
Don't waste your time on this POS. Check out WYZE home cameras, if you're on a strict budget.

I bought 3 of these and got the mini sd cards - they did not work with my 5G - I sent them back
I Brought this Camera -I have not installed it yet .It came with no wall mount included in the box and no instructions in English. And because I need it for my Foyer ,how do I install it as it has a USB Lead but no where in the Foyer to plug it in. I am having second thoughts why I brought it in the first place.😲
I have since found the wall mount but no SD card or do you buy these separately

You have to buy the SD card separately. They are sold on the site where you purchased the camera.

I am so thankful for your assessment. I am in the process of returning the order I purchased. It arrived late and I canceled it then it arrived. They can have it back and have a refund when I placed a dispute with my cc company. They want me to pay return shipping.
This exact camera is on TEMU for under $10
Temu reviews show the service is bad, ship time is worse and sometimes the product never arrives. But they take your money fast and have several security issues to threaten your identity and bank account.
TEMU has issues . The Chinese gov't takes many companies information on the buyers. I think they will use people's info in the future, perhaps in a massive shutdown of our computer grids and power. The gov't can do that kind of thing with companies we access.

It's a lens with weak Wi-Fi and tiny internal battery, there's no room for anything else.

So if you want to view any activated video you got to get out a ladder. Climb up and remove the sd card. Go find a computer to see what was recorded only to realize it was a pussy cat. I will keep my Blink cloud subscription at a few bucks a month and batteries only needing replaced every two years as they are Lithium. Oh and you can buy this junk direct from China for eight dollars with free shipping. As they say, you get what you pay for. Oh and this so called company. They are not a real company with a product. All they are doing is drop shipping to you from China with a several hundred percent markup. There should be laws against this
