Despite how much travel content there is for Japan out there, this channel still does it better than everyone else for me. So many great shots in this video and damn if that bbq didn't look amazing
Thanks a million for the rich vocabulary and the art of storytelling which I am trying to learn. Your channel will now be my library. Thanks again Sir.
I've watched this video twice now and it's one of my favorites. Your channel has been my favorite travel channel for years and the quality just gets better and better. I'm a video editor for a TH-camr here in Japan and I'm really hoping we can experiment with videos like this someday! Oh and my wife and I went to Okinawa this past summer (my first time, she's been there many times) and it absolutely blew me away. I fell in love immediately. It's so different from the mainland.
25 minute Attaché videos such as these take me about an hour to watch - continuously pausing and rewinding to take in the fabulous scenery and thoughtfully shot clips of the locations culture. Congrats and thank you for yet another excellently made piece to add to the channels collection. 😊
I have never felt more compelled to visit Japan, and particularly Okinawa, than after watching this fantastic video. Thank you Alex, for always putting your whole being into these travel guides!
I have been to Ishigaki, it’s like a dream I can’t wake up from, a dream that stay at back of my head and support me to go through life, a dream I want to fulfill forever after retirement. When you say it’s your favorite place on earth, I both laughed and cried.😢
That is almost exactly how I feel. And I just had a conversation with somebody the other day saying nearly the same thing. It’s just that kind of place.
I think Attache has genuinely been the most convincing travel channel I've come across. Every video is viewed as a "I'll probably go here in a few months", when I have a friend that wants to go somewhere, but they're still a tad unsure, I send them an Attache video on that destination and it never fails. I'm the solo-traveller friend to most of my friends, and within my family. I aim to do 2 to 3 trips abroad a year, but in all of my trips with friends (and come October 2024, my first with my almost twin older sister who's finally a fellow and can take a vacation) Attache videos is what sells them. I've gone to Berlin (twice), Barcelona, Paris, Rome, and Zurich with friends/family thanks to Attache, and for solo trips I've gone to Toledo, Madrid, Vienna, Berlin (solo, not included in the twice previously mentioned), went back to Montreal, Chicago, London and Amsterdam solo because of, or after a refresher from Attache. And in my queue of future Attache influenced trips are: - Copenhagen - Lisbon - Toronto - Seattle - Vancouver - Mexico City - Tokyo - Hong Kong - Helsinki - Stockholm - Florence - Athens - Budapest - Singapore
Okinawans are some of longest-living and high-quality people in the world, from your video I can see why. Your video about Japan are my favorites, this one has crazy beautiful colors!
I just wanted to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for this incredible video on Okinawa! Your channel consistently offers such rich and enlightening content, and this review of Okinawa was truly amazing. The way you capture the essence of each destination while educating us on its unique culture and beauty is unmatched. Thank you for taking us on this fascinating journey around the world-especially this glimpse into Okinawa's vibrant culture. Your dedication to travel and global education is truly inspiring! 😎
I was there 30 years ago while in the Marine Corps, I enjoyed it, didn't see everything there, but it was nice there. I wished I had my family with me.
@@attachetravel You're extremely good at conveying the emotions that come with new experiences. Most people just go here's a shrine, here's a store, here's a restaurant.
Can't believe I missed this video as I love your Japan vids so much. The quality of the videos is as good if not better than anything on TV. Hope you get back to Tokyo as your first video was 8 years ago and Tokyo has changed so much since then. BTW, glad to see Joseph is still around. Used to love seeing him dressed like a Xmas tree and running marathons. LOL
When I was in the USAF I was stationed in Okinawa. I really enjoyed that deployment and I had my first wife over there with me. My biggest regret in my life was not staying in the USAF for a career but got out after 4 years because the Officer trying to get me to reenlist made me mad when I told him I wound let him know tomorrow about signing up for another 4 years. He told me “quit yanking my chain you’re not stupid enough to turn this deal down. My Irish temper flared and I told him I wouldn’t sign the reenlistment contract even if He made the bonus double. So I got out. Stupidest mistake of my life. My Brother is USAF retired has a pension and retired benefits and all I have is good memories and a hat.
Dude, this brought back so many beautiful memories of my backpacking vlogging trip there 10 years ago. I'm dying to go back. You covered everything so beautifully. 100% agree with your comparison of Naha to Honolulu, and I've not even been to the latter. Guam though, I have, which feels like the other side of a mirror. If Okinawa is a part of Japan full of American influence, Guam is the reverse! It's Japan's Mallorca. 😂Did you ever manage to hop on a ferry from Ishigaki to Taketomi for the super rural experience? I also wanna see Miyako island too, the beaches look beautiful there.
So glad we were able to bring back some happy memories! I have never been to Guam but I have always been fascinated by it. One day. Didn’t get on the ferry this time but I have in the past, an amazing experience.
@attache I lived in Okinawa as a kid! Dad was in the military...loved the ocean..they taught us to look up under each tree before going under do to the viper snakes that would drop on you and kill you. I also played with a live grenade on the beach from WW2 that never detonated and mom freaked out and called the police and they came and took it away. So many memories in Okinawa! The hermit crabs we would collect from the beach and put in our pants and mom would check the pockets when doing laundry and scream!
Great video, and thanks for not overly highlighting the negativity of American military occupation. I was stationed there for several years and will be going back next spring for a few years. However, I do have to ask why you chose not to document the rest of Okinawa Honto? You don't have to go to Ishigaki to experience pristine beaches and laid back villages. Pretty much anywhere on the island other than Naha has that, especially the further north you go. I get that you're trying to show the shark contrast to Japan proper and the hustle and bustle of city life, but there's so much more to Okinawa than Naha and Ishigaki.
Okinawa - where Japan meets Hawai'i ! Possibly one of the more perfect places on this Planet. Except for the locals really being "over" all the US service people... Did a Tour there back in the 80's, USMC. Can't blame them though, a lot of young men don't behave as well as the Japanese are accustomed to from their own young men = Culture Clash! Well done as always on the video, you guys are Aces!
Both okinawa and hawai colonised by their respective countries though in okinawa's case they've been colonised twice both by the Japanese and later the Americans
Thanks for this very nice video. Sadly, I find it difficult to become exited for Japan. I love (old) architecture, history and nice, calming spaces. I've dropped myself on street view in Japan so many times and looked at many cities, but their urban landscape seems like a place I would not find a lot of happiness in compared to old places in Europe. I would love to go for the food and to visit some actual historic places, but the cities really turn me off.
I would encourage you to go anyway. At least experience it in person. And don’t just stay in the cities, venture out to the countryside. You won’t regret it.
I love how you just completely stereotyped American military personel. Predominantly males who have never before left their hometown, let alone their country. I love the videos, don't get me wrong, but damn.
Forgot to add more about the people of Okinawa too. How multi-generations are American and Okinawan (including me). Also, missed the mark on the cultural heritage. IMO military is more well traveled than the average person. This was a great travel ad for Zamami and Ishigaki though. lol
Despite how much travel content there is for Japan out there, this channel still does it better than everyone else for me. So many great shots in this video and damn if that bbq didn't look amazing
Truth.
Thank you so much, Mark. I really appreciate that. And yes, that beef was amazing.
You’re absolutely correct..This is a masterpiece channel.

Music to my ears

the shots, the editing, the quality - just a brilliant video, Attaché did it again!
Glad you liked it!!

I adore this channel.
By a mile the best travel content on TH-cam
A beautiful love letter to Okinawa. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Your video about Japan are my favorites, this one has crazy beautiful colors!
I did quite a lot of reading about that before I went on this trip. It’s truly fascinating. And yes, you really can see why they live so long.
Love the film and how it is produced. Absolutely need to visit

I have watched over and over the video of your first visit to Japan so long ago. I am glad you are back in Japan again to explore. from 🇯🇵
I was there 30 years ago while in the Marine Corps, I enjoyed it, didn't see everything there, but it was nice there. I wished I had my family with me.
Thank you that you are back! You are the best👍
I lived in Onna son over 20 years. I still have family in Okinawa and a house. What a fantastic time and life🐟🐟🐟
There's Attache and then, there's everybody else.
That’s really kind, thank you!
@@attachetravel You're extremely good at conveying the emotions that come with new experiences. Most people just go here's a shrine, here's a store, here's a restaurant.
Right.. I'm heading to Okinawa next year.. Thanks for your wonderful video.. And for all the other videos you have made in this fantastic series 😊

We're off to Japan in May and very much looking forward to it.
I hope you have an amazing trip. Come back and tell us how it goes.
Ok now I want to visit Okinawa. The water looks so pristine.
It is some of the most perfect water I have ever seen. Must be experienced to be believed.
Perfect timing
Amazing! Are you headed there?
Looks amazing
It was!

Hi, wonderful video - what time of the year were you there? We want to visit end of October but are a bit afraid of the weather turning.
This episode was so good, I almost didn't realize you didn't do "The Rundown". Wondering what the price of a Ishigaki Beef Big Mac would be.

I must admit that part of Okinawa through me. I wasn’t expecting it. But it does offer that very interesting contrast. And almost necessary contrast.
Hello from Bucharest, Romania - a huge underrated city in Europe:) Hope you will visit soon and make a video about it!
I know we’re not exotic or glamorous enough, but you’ve got to come and visit Detroit.
お帰り!!
