  • I always wanted to make a round purse and it is a great excuse to tool a Mayan Zodiac Circle. Join me in tooling leather and constructing this circle purse. I use vegetable tanned leather and a nice chrome tanned leather for this leather crafting project. I also use antiquing.

You did a great job. I was unsure about the white paint as I have not seen this done before. However, the results were stunning! Looking forward to seeing more videos.

Thank you! The trick to keeping the white clean is to use a resist before you antique it. Maybe even two coats. It is so unpredictable but you just hope for the best. Thank you for your comment. :)

This whole process looks amazing. The purse must've taken some time to finish and definitely came out great. Even if not used as a purse it would definitely be a great art piece on a shelf, like a conversation piece. I love this kind of art, it is so personable to know that it was made by hand. I know that only I have it, makes me feel unique. By the way, by bridge, what do you mean? You said you had to make one when you were stitching the purse together. Did you mean uniting both pieces of leather together?

Thank you very much! I agree with your perspective of handmade crafts. It makes the item special in the ways you explained so well. What I meant by bridge was that I had to stack wood and scrap leather together in order to elevate my stitching surface to be able to put holes in the side of this purse for stitching. Putting the holes in first might of helped but I wanted to make sure everything lined up so I made the holes after gluing the sides to the gusset Thank you for the question and comment. :)

Thank you so much for watching this video! I love tooling this design. Plus I also used my laser for the other side of the purse. Check out the laser if you like. th-cam.com/video/bUoA2iR3zDI/w-d-xo.html
