At first, they all looked legit except for #3, the reason for it was because the cartwheel luster on it was too crisp if that makes sense. But after you turned it, the label on #1 and #3 looked fake, and the fact that #3 was CC kinda suspect because they’re usually faked more often
#1 appeared to have fake wear to me. #3 looked too shiny to me, as if it was new or in very good condition, and I figured no one would pay alot of money for a graded coin without due diligence.
Thank you SD bullion I can't believe that I'm the winner I really needed this for me and my family and I'm going to put it all the good use once again thank you so much SD bullion!!!!! For everyone thinking that this was a scam, or just a ploy to get people to check ✔ out their channel 🤔 let me tell you it's completely real and I'll be posting pictures and videos showing everyone how real it was. After everything is all said and done I'm going to collect around $20,000.00 in cold Hard Cash 💸 I'm going to put half in my checking account and the other $10,000.00 I'm going to put into pure GOLD coins or bars i can't decide what exactly I'm going to do.
I came to check out how you found out the coin was fake from your other video where you broke the seal and drilled it. Thanks for providing the link. Subscriptions kinda work out to help not miss a video. 😊👍🏽
Such a sad shame that people go the distance to rip people off! If they took that negative energy to do something positive, maybe they would succeed. They damn sure got close to getting away with the scam, really sad that someone paid for the lesson tho.
If I can't run the code, I won't spend money to buy the coin. period. I understand what your saying, but I won't send money to anyone if i can't verify the coin first.
No I always wondered how the RFID worked on those slabs. Good to know that you can use an app to verify maybe it's time for me to go through my collection of Morgan's.
Another thing I learned was that the 1881 cc would not have the word MORGAN since it was the only silver dollar at the time… the only morgans with that word would be the 1921’s because there were other silver dollars being the peace dollar in that year. Also a pcgs should be on the lower right corner on a real one. thanks for this info… Its so helpful to collectors!… to counterfeit is death.
I honestly couldn’t tell which were which face down or face up. What I did notice once you said which one were which that on the real ones the barcode was flush to the bottom, and on the fake ones the barcode had a little space at the bottom. Now I don’t know if that was coincidence but it’s what I noticed. Thank you for pointing out the difference in label color and the embossed on the bottom of the slab. It gives me something else to look for. Great video, thank you. 👍
#1 & #3 based on the way the labels look. Edit: yes, the edges you caught. I could see the label didn’t go under the plastic. Like it’s a sticker after the fact. That’s what prompted me at the beginning to say 1 & 3.
Side by side I could tell which were the fake slabs, but if I just saw one by itself, I might not think anything of it... might be time to go revisit all the slabs I've bought!
#1 and #3 immediately gave themselves away without being flipped because I didn't see the PCGS imprint on the slab in the corner. And maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think they ever actually print "Morgan" on a Morgan label.
It feels like we're not that far away from there being serious problems, like in the magic community you have to worry about replaced cards, fake labels, and even fake cards getting real grades because of untrained graders. And that's on top of the extreme variance in the grading itself, where you can just resubmit cards and depending on the time of day, get a different grade.
i don't buy slabs cause of the those who would fake them. raw coins are cheaper and easier to test. sad the collectors have test everything these days.
I was visiting an LCS and he was showing me a pile of fakes that he has come across over the years and one that I thought was tricky was a faked Morgan (can’t remember the year) that was made from a .925 Sterling planchette. So if tested at 90% it would still pass. He then demonstrated the phenomenon. He basically said for just under $20 you could create a Sigma “fooling” fake Morgan that would likely sell for $60+. Which sits in that sweet spot to avoid detailed scrutiny.
1 and 3? I answered before he said anything but I guessed on the color of the coins not the PCGS! I was going to erase it and only guess 4 but then he said what was fake
Got it right. Doesn't make me feel good, since I have a gold bar and a coin I think might be fake. Bar was bought at a local coin shop, the coin at SGB (large CDN online dealer). Hope to have them checked out at some point, no one around here as the tools to properly check it.
Well I would say #2 off the bat because the PCGS label does not match the others (QRCode?) My second guess would be #4 because of the hologram being the same size at my first guess, and the shield being a slightly different color yellow (compared to #1 and #3; the ones I think are real) The two I think are fake also have ® after PCGS instead of ™ That is just a guess from the labels (from a graphic designers perspective). EDIT: Whelp, I was on the right tract; I just didn't know what a real PCGS Slab looked like. The QR Code is what threw me off, as I immediately thought that one was fake, so I started to compare against it.
For those who demand to see the cert #, I ask this--I personally sent a slew of 2018 silver reverse proof set coins in to NGC and then sold many of them on eBay. Many were identical high grades sold on one listing. What are you suggesting I should have done instead?
I don't like the look of #1 and #3. The stickers don't fit in their slot in the slab well. They also lack detailing of the pcgs logo and gold shield as part of the plastic slab mold, despite the fact that they have the shield label on the back sticker.
Pirate stacker made a video 2days ago about fakes and yes if u search on pcgs website and If the last numbers dont come out it then there fake.. yes I totally agree with silver seeker about fakes and slabs alot of fakes out there glad I watched this video and learned about numismatics..
I suspect strongly 3rd because it shines so strong and first just doesn’t look real at all. Did turn out to be correct but it was just a wild guess and I could’ve went either way.
That security feature is pretty recent, but there were other tell-tale signs of this being fake besides that. I pointed out many of them in this video.
The counterfeiters will continue to improve their crap regardless of videos like this my friend. I think it's important to show people what to look for so that they can protect themselves.
@@SilverSeeker I understand the point. I get why educating folks is important. But I also understand that agencies like Law Enforcement run into the same issues. Educating the public on their methods of finding evidence and processing it educates criminals on it as well and they then can figure out how to avoid it. At some point the only way to detect a fake coin will be on a machine that can read metal content and quality. Each video I have seen means the folks in China and elsewhere ALSO see it and can deal with that issue. One video I saw on this subject the only the way the host could definitively show the coin was fake WAS the machine. Magnetic test passed, weight check passed, size test passed. Visual check passed. I didn't see him try a ping test though. While your video is fine to educate folks now. You can help people today and in the next few weeks and maybe months. All that has really been accomplished in long term is you have sped up the process of getting to high quality mass produced fake coins into the market.
Psa does the same thing with their cards there will always always be a little psa logo in the bottom right corner if its not there its fake. This is literally one of the best security features and i have never seen a fake slab with it on a holder. Since its into the plastic its very hard to replicate. But i have a real good trained eye at spotting counterfeit items.
15 seconds into the video without seeing anything else up close about the slabs or coins, it looks like 1 and 3 are fake since they don't have the PCGS mark in the lower right corner of the slab. We'll see if that's the case.
Good content. Keeping your community educated. Thanks to your subscriber who shared these fakes.
Great info !
Great video Seeker, thanks for the info.
Great information thanks.
Great info, thanks Seeker! 👍

great knowledge that you passed along, thank you
Thanks for the great Video!
Very Helpful!
As always it's been a pleasure
Very cool video! Thanks for the knowledge!
Cool video man! I liked guessing which 2 were the fakes.
Thanks to both of yall for this. Keep learning
Great video! Thanks for doing this.
The cert numbers for the 2 fakes were good initially- PCGS removed the certs after the counterfeits started being reported...
Very interesting video and I learnt a lot from this! Much appreciated. Great Video!

Best place to learn
I absolutely could not tell from looking at the backs. Thanks for the education!
Yet another reason to avoid slabbed coins. Buy the coin, not the plastic!
Let's get with that GAW! You'll make it very quick!
This is why you cover the barcodes when you post slabs for sale. People will grab the code off of a real one and create counterfeit
If I can't run the code, I won't spend money to buy the coin. period. I understand what your saying, but I won't send money to anyone if i can't verify the coin first.
@@philmckracken1354 agreed. If I see someone selling a coin and the cert information is covered I’m moving on.
@@philmckracken1354 This is quite a quandary. Kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Very True ! Perfect ! You Nail it !
I knew by the gold shield on the back thanks for sharing
Very interesting your video I liked so much, there's any change NGC has similar to detect fake coins?
I guessed right before video even started
Thanks to you and to your subscriber both for the good education. I'm new to this and it's excellent to learn how to spot the important details.
A great educational video for us all. Thanks for sharing this one with us!
Very informative for us, very unfortunate for buyer.
Thanks for the info very interesting
I got the CC right but figured either the other Morgan or the gold w didn’t even think about out the Stone Mountain as one of the fakes
Sorry about the buyers losses, but I enjoy watching videos like this to learn more. Thanks
Excellent video!

Really like the info good to know sense I’m still a rookie at this, especially when it comes slabbed coins. And your giveaway looks awesome!
Thanks for the education
Even the Serial Number is the same on genuine Holder ! This is the Way they Do it now !
I honestly couldn’t tell which were which face down or face up. What I did notice once you said which one were which that on the real ones the barcode was flush to the bottom, and on the fake ones the barcode had a little space at the bottom.

Surprised someone would fake a stone mountain
Too many crooks in collectibles!
#1 & #3 based on the way the labels look. Edit: yes, the edges you caught. I could see the label didn’t go under the plastic. Like it’s a sticker after the fact. That’s what prompted me at the beginning to say 1 & 3.
Awesome video ! 👍
I picked the right ones by their look on the reverse.
The coins themselves weren't right.
Stone Mountain has to one of them so many fakes out there
I couldn’t tell at first but I did notice the real ones do have the PCGs Logo in the plastic on the real ones
the "PCGS" logo is missing in the lower right corner in the plastic slab. That's how I spotted it.
I got the coins right. the fake coins looked off, The slabs fooled me.Thanks for the video.
I wouldn't even consider stacking without having a Sigma. There's just WAY too many fakes out there, especially on Ebay.
Thank You Sir.
My is guess is #2 and #4 are fake because of the color of PGCS logo and the coins looks too good
Guess 1&3 , don't have a clue, 3 looks too clean,
I think the reverse of the morgan was facing the wrong way too.
Side by side I could tell which were the fake slabs, but if I just saw one by itself, I might not think anything of it... might be time to go revisit all the slabs I've bought!
Also the real cases have PCGS on the plastic cases at the bottom right.
Are all the modern PCGS rated coins including a nfc tag? Do you have to pay extra for that or is that part of the service?
I was so wrong , I’m a dum dum 🥺
Great info. Sadly we have to be that careful...
Honestly I could tell from the reverse as the silicon coin holder that touches the coin on the fake ones look like plastic and not silicon rubber.
#1 and #3 immediately gave themselves away without being flipped because I didn't see the PCGS imprint on the slab in the corner. And maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think they ever actually print "Morgan" on a Morgan label.
Doh... Commented too early and you mention it at the end. Lol
They also don't put the word morgan on any of the morgans other than 1921.
It is really easy to identify cuz I have seen a lot of fake PCGS coins in China.

1 & 3. They don’t have the pcgs logo and chip logo on the bottom front corners.
Ones out to the sides.
Hey, I got it right before you flipped them. Cool.
O may be the center two.
i don't buy slabs cause of the those who would fake them.

I look for flaws on coins on pcgs and ngc sites then look 4 them on the coin for sale

I can't see the coins on this small phone.
I'm going to assume by the holders 1 & 3
WOOT WOOT I got it right!!! I cant find my original comment but I guessed 1 and 3 because of the weird shape of the neck/head on the birds
The Morgan’s face is way off and the patina on the Stone Mountain looks like lead
