To answer the question about holiness. Technically the word Holy isn't in the original Hebrew text. The definition of Holy is refers to something that is dedicated to a God or deity. The correct translation is "set apart". So technically we should be set apart from the world, and not do what the world does. The word Holy originates from the Proto-Indo-European language, the ancestor of many European languages. The word stems from the PIE word *keh₂ilos, which meant "whole, healthy, or uninjured." This connection suggests that holiness was originally associated with completeness and physical well-being.
Over time, the meaning of "holy" evolved to encompass spiritual wholeness and a connection to the divine. This shift is reflected in the Old English word "hālig," which meant "holy, consecrated, sacred, and venerated."
