More great content. Thanks, Kitty! I love the fact that you’re doing such great stuff while confined to your place. It gives people likd me no excuse to feel bored. Just look around! 😊
Thank you Kitty! So educative. I have always wondered if monopods are really important. You’ve given a great perspective to using a monopod. Thank you 🙏 💕
Thanks Kitty for making this video as you have great ideas for using a monopod. I use my monopod all the time and I run out of ideas of how to use them. :)
I always wandered why one would go for a monopod rather than a tripod, but I guess I was only thinking about stability. This video finally gave me some reason at the point where I might start budgeting to get one :-) Thanks for keeping sharing ideas
...howdy from Nashville, TN...this is a perfectly timely video!! the hair is high shelf adorable on you... luckily I have my monopod in the car so I will try this when I make my next prep intensive meal! THANKS, KITTY!
Excellent video, I really liked the suggestions and ways to use a monopod, I just purchased an ifootage Cobra 2 Strike and I would like to learn more and get as much use out of it as I can
Hey thanks for posting. Was wondering about these. Saw one about a month ago for around 400$. Was not sure how I felt about the price point. But... I do use an E-Image tripod for my B camera. And it was a lot nicer than I expected it to be for 300$. I think it’s a definite must have for a beginner in film making with a smaller budget that needs a cheap pair of sticks. And you can put a much nicer head on them also. For a monopod. These are more in the “advanced” or gonna play with it all the time “realm.” I’m curious about the weight of them. These look heavy. Guessing 4-6 lbs? For just run n gun shooting and photos I’ve always carried a cheap carbon fiber monopod. No more than 50$. It’s light. Takes strain off your arms for long shots (as you noted). Can fix a gimbal to it etc etc. They are very useful. Even a cheap one is a must have. If you mentioned the weight of these I must of missed it. But would like to know. Cheers. I see you are using the Sirui Anamorphic Lens as well. How you like them? I am digging them for the price. Got my 35mm about 2 months ago, to go with the 50mm. Both are excellent. Though I am still partial to Vazen lenses. The 1.33x is perfect on the 16x9 sensor. Anyway. Maybe I’ll check one of these out. I like that one with the ball swivel.
I have just ordered my first one and, I see myself in no time practicing your tips. Quite useful and, smart ones. Awesome video & Thank you so much !!! Namastê 🙏✨ Keep Cool, see ya
@@atolavisuals I am actually going to wait to pick one up as I just bought a SamllRig cage kit for my Nikon Z6 plus a cage for my Sony RX100 VII, a Lensmate filter kit for it, and tonight I just ordered the Peak Design carbon fiber travel tripod
Wow. I can't believe how tall those monopods are! The foot release is nice. I think I'm more interested in that one. Let's see how much they cost. Edit: $220 and $400 Good to know the plates are compatible with Manfrotto 501PL plate.
@5:27 it looks like there is some roll along the optical axis during the faked slide. Did you apply some (software) stabilization to your footage? When I look @0:47 (if this is even the shoot), I get kind of an idea what might help to overcome the unwanted movements w/o stablization in post: cut it and match it to the beat. If this is the case: Nice technique. I didn't know it, yet.
One of the locking feet on my Benro monopod literally just stopped working so great timing. Do you know if you can buy just the locking base portion on the compact ikan separately?
@@atolavisuals Thanks anyway :) I ordered the iFootage one to test out a couple weeks ago, but Amazon orders are taking forever right now. The Benro's base always had a habit of unscrewing itself anyway and the only fix they suggest is using locktight.
@@atolavisuals Nope. Had it for like 4 years now and used it once and it wasn't even for video work. It was to stabilize my Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II with a 2x extender (I was shooting at 400mm) for an event gig. I literally never used the 2x extender again either. Such a wasteful purchase. -_-

These short tutorials and tips are great. Thank you, once again for showing newbies like myself how to deconstruct your methods. Time to give it a try

Monopods for the win!! I need one with the feet on it.
Monopods are underrated for sure
Very beautiful
How did you like the GH04 head?
Yea, I finally get to use your affiliate link.
I have been needing a monopod for a while now....so ordering one of these

Ya speed ramps and slomo help with stabilization. It wasn't what I want but it was the best I could do in that little area unfortunately
So that’s what that flip screen is for!!!
Haha yessir
Is the fluid head removable to put on a tripod
One of the locking feet on my Benro monopod literally just stopped working so great timing. Do you know if you can buy just the locking base portion on the compact ikan separately?
I don't believe that's possible... hope you get your setup fixed soon!
@@atolavisuals Thanks anyway :) I ordered the iFootage one to test out a couple weeks ago, but Amazon orders are taking forever right now. The Benro's base always had a habit of unscrewing itself anyway and the only fix they suggest is using locktight.
5'3"... Someone's the literal definition of "shorty"
What is on your lens on the camera on the left? BTW love your channel!
that would be my anamorphic lens :) check more on that in my other video - th-cam.com/video/vWeV1s-yIHg/w-d-xo.html
What is your oppinion on the Sirui 50mm you using? Worth it?
I shot this entire video with this lens. Do you think its worth it? : here: th-cam.com/video/vWeV1s-yIHg/w-d-xo.html
Rack Focus wasn't what I was hoping
It wasn't what you were hoping?
@@atolavisuals Just a joke..lol
😁
Crap ! Now I want a monopod 🤣
An excellent tool for any filmmaker
Shame we can't get that monopod in the UK.
Power Ranger vibes in the beginning :)
LOL I'd be Tommy... the white ranger not green, then!
I can picture her saying "Nunchucks MFs" while playing with the monopod in the starting scene. 🤣
I def can see myself saying that as well 😹 you know me
@@atolavisuals i do, i do 😂
glad you didn’t suspend the monopod from the ceiling for your glamour shots... but definitely would like to have one
That would have been EPIC :)
The closest I came to this monopod life is when I hacked together a short dinky Frankenpod out of spare parts 😂.
Haha whatever works works
What Monopod do you have currently? Why an upgrade?
I had a pretty banged up aluminum Benro w/much smaller feet and video head.
👍👍❤️
🙏💜
Those monopods are better than all my tripods 😂😔😭
What kinda tripods are you using? lol
@@atolavisuals Amazon Basics, of course! 😏
White and Asian parents make the cutest kids.
Is that an anamorphic 50mm lens?
RIP your bank balance 😂😂
Yes! I love it 😻
The picture quality and the bokeh is mind-blowing.
😀
😊
A monopod with a crank! Can you get a smooth shot with it going up or down?
I tried that and couldn't get stable enough footage...although, it might be possible with a heavier camera setup?
I have the Manfrotto one but never use it. :/
never use it?!
@@AutoFOCUSED. It sounds like you are really mindful of making the right investments!
@@atolavisuals Shots fired!!! POW POW POW!!! "I'm hit!!!" :/ lol
@@AutoFOCUSED. Noooo shots fired! 🙏
So i learned i should probably get a monopod instead of another tripod
Possibly a good idea :)
✌✌✌✌😎
✌✌✌✌😎😊
If these are so good then why we have tripod 😂😂 I hate tripods... But can't figure out their major usage and marketing.
Mmmm. Done. Is he your boyfriend?
He's my personal chef 😂😊
@@atolavisuals He's a very luck chef, knowing it's lockdown all around the world, being with a beautiful cute 5'3 foot cute lady like you :))
