It is a believers job to help seek and save the lost...if your were on the wrong path about to make a turn into everlasting destruction and separation from the creator wouldn't you want someone to help lead and guide you?
I believe we have an omnipotent creator. I will share my beliefs, and I’ll have conversations about it. But I don’t shove my beliefs down peoples’ throats.
To me, it doesn't matter what religion you represent or what your beliefs are. If it helps you wake up at peace and give you hope/faith and the incentive to be a good person and treat people right, I respect it completely. And I don't understand how anybody can hate on that.
It matters because all but one "religion" would lead to a world that would spiral out of control when given enough time. Basically just take whatever "religions" you think there are, separate them and give them their own world and watch what happens as generations progress through time. The thing about that scenario though is we don't need to do that because we can see it play out in the world we live in currently. Religion's in quotes because there's only one truth and its not to be confined or simplified into a man made word. Please accept Jesus and turn to God, and that goes for me as well.
I agree were all brothers and sisters at the end of the day and if something leads you to be good than good. But I still have to say eventually human beings have to get away from religion and they should start doing it now and at faster pace. God The source of all things actually is a real existent power that we all come from believe it or not. Some people don't like that but it is actually a truth. But God is not religion, basically all religions from Christianity to Islam are man made constructs. Every religion has some truths in it that are beneficial to know, but what religion ultimately does is rob people from real authentic spirituality. It takes them from knowing the truth that they are gods themselves and have a lot of power in themselves to shape their own life, love themselves fully, command the life they want, and among many other important things as well. it keeps you locked in a fantasy world of worshiping dead men that really have nothing to do with anything, and putting power, responsibility, respect, and credence on things outside of yourself. When you should be getting into yourself and your own power and advancing. Yes its nice to have faith in god and love god, that's a beautiful thing. But people never get past that part and realize they are the main character in their story in life and need to evolve and advance and get into themselves. instead their stuck believing imaginary bullshit like there is such thing as hell, and a man 2000 years ago is the literal creator god, and all this islamic nonsense and what not. Its all bullshit, Its all taken out of context concepts made by men. Theres some profound truths that jesus and these men were trying to teach thousands of years ago but what happened was people took it mostly out of context and made a "religion" out of it and now people are stuck for generations with nonsense in their head. The original meanings were twisted around, misconstrued and were not even meant to be worshiped and made into a cult, AKA a religion. long story short if religion gives you faith and makes you a good person that's good. But it should really be avoided and many people should start running from it because it takes you into fantasy land and gives you wrong beliefs and robs you of finding truth and your power. you dont need religion to be a good person, or to have faith, or love god and have a relationship with it
@@estvescalders6597 If you were born to parents in the Middle East, 99% chance you would be a Muslim. Then you would say that would be the one true god. Proof of that is in my country Australia, we only have 43% christians, yet we have a five times lower crime rate than the highly christian U.S. we have an enjoyable lifestyle with people focusing on family life, and they’re not running around hurting, robbing, or killing people. Fighting over religion however, has killed many millions of people throughout history and continues to do so. (smh) Theology isn't hard to figure out if you ACTUALLY care about the Truth -the idea that because there is an abundance of choices they then are therefore all wrong is idiotic, nor does it mean that they are all right for that matter, and moreover conflicts with the reason and logic that a "scientist" like Tyson should be adhering to. Tyson is a goof -he stood with GMO foods even though it's pretty much common knowledge at this point that it's best to eat as organic as possible, he looked like a bumbling tool when he tried to defend his libtard views in a gender/sex debate relatively recently, and the lack of any real scientific deductive reasoning when it comes to a surface question about theology shows that he is only a "scientist" professionally, and not a scientist intellectually. Fr tho his popularity says a lot about how most people these days can't think critically. 🙄 The hyperbolic number of 18,000 is disingenuously overinflated because Agnostics and "Atheists" think it helps their idiot capitulation of "tHeRe Is ToO mAnY cHoIcEs FoR uS to KnOw ThE tRuTh" -counting stories of people worshiping things that they thought (or knew) were just spiritual entities, NOT "gods", will result in moronic counts that end up looking like they're in the thousands, so if you take all the smaller entities out and realize that a lot of those tallies for that "18,000" number are talking about SIMILAR beings, meaning that there were "gods" that were counted MULTIPLE times to come up with that moronic "18,000" number, it then becomes a bit easier to figure things out once you realize what kind of disinfo it is to say that there are "18,000 dIfFeReNt gOdS". 👍 The existence of God is self evident, that's WHY secularists have the burden of proof on them, and MOST scientists throughout history have BEEN RELIGIOUS, but more specifically Christian -whether it's the CODE of reality with DNA (4-bit 3-D code couldn't just magically materialize naturally), the LAWS of nature (AGAIN with NO WAY TO COME ABOUT NATURALLY), or even Historical proof of things that happened in the Bible IN THE WAY THAT THE BIBLE SAYS, like the historical evidence of what happened at the crossing of the Red Sea, the proof is literally all over the place, and to deny the existence of God means that you either don't really care about the Truth, or actively hate the Truth. 💯 What it boils down to, is that we all have this time to find the Truth while we are alive, and if we don't figure it out before we pass, we'll KNOW Him in one way or another when all is said and done. ✌
I was raised as a Muslim, in an Arabic country. I then moved in my early school years to Europe. You can probably guess where by my message, but anyways. I was informed many many different stories when I was a child, and as you know, children are like a sponge, they obsorbe what is told to them. As I grew up and continued to educate myself, I started to question certain logics behind what I was taught and learned myself. Sadly, in public, back in my country I would not be able to fully speak out without being deemed negatively, but thankfully there are so many amazing religious scholars who are super happy to listen to questions, discuss it and share their knowledge. Thats the answer here sadly. Its knowledge. Education, most people arent in lower income civilizations. I don't mean to poke at finance or economy, but it all ties together and as you all clearly know, there is not smoke without fire or some form of chemical reaction. My point is very simple, I refuse to obey words I am told by people, humans aren't perfect, only the creator, I believe there is a higher being in the creation of the conscious sense of what we call life, but is it truly what we are told, I find it hard to believe the words of others. Sorry for my rant, I just wished to share my view.
God is definitely NOT what we are told. When I realized that, I bawled like a baby. Then I got angry. Angry at "them" for lying. For trying to rob me of my ability to think for myself. I found out much later that what I experienced is called cognitive dissonance. God is a frequency. God is everlasting love and total compassion. God is having a human experience through our existence. There is nothing that we need that is outside of ourselves. We already have the answers to all our questions and the solution to all our problems, within. Most of us just have not been taught how to find them.
@@latnew1 I can identify with what you just said. God is definitely not what we've been told, and just like you when I made that discovery, I too got angry. I was livid. Being told that God gives human beings free will to live life, but at the same time intervenes in our lives when it looks like God can score points. I was brain washed, and when people keep pushing this lie about the God character of the Bible I get angry. There were times when I would sit and think just saying to myself how could I be so stupid to believe the stories I was told. I kinda feel it is not ok toi celebrate culture either, it is basically the same thing as religion, somethi ng humans cling on to from an identity, then try to force that identity down others throats, it's why we have culture wars too.
The reason I consider myself an atheist is because I believe in the harm religion has caused me and many people throughout history. I believe it’s why so many people readily accept lies and conspiracy theories, because a belief system based on faith does not require evidence to form a belief, which I think is fundamentally dangerous. Also, the biggest thing religion offers, an answer to the question “what happens when we die?”, I think is comforting at best, dangerous at worst. Because the concept of morality sprouted from the understanding of our own mortality, and we cannot have a fully honest conversation about right and wrong with someone who believes their actions have consequences past their own death.
Well if you speak about the "harm of religion" that's a very broad perspective since the start of religion(s) so let's say we were talking about Christianity since it's the largest group then we would have to compare atheism vs Christianity and see the history of which group killed the most people whether genocide, war, or any inclusion. If we look only at the past century we see how Communist regimes thanks to the influence of Carl Marx as well have killed over 100 million lives and this is only in the past century... You brought up a very good point about needing "faith" and this "belief" system to BELIEVE in God, so I will ask you the same question. What is your proof that God doesn't exist? How did all of this perfection come to be about? How is the earth not too far yet not too close? How is our DNA perfect? How do our mere blood cells reproduce in masses of over 100 million per second and hundreds of billions per day at a 99.9999% replica of one another? How is it that the earths core is so perfect which we call 1G the 'standard gravity' that if it had a bit less force we would all float to space and if it had a bit more force we would all be crushed to death? See, it is the atheists that have to give proof that there is no God for the reason alone that the atheistic belief is derived from believing that all of this came from nothing, it is illogical to believe that something can happen without the cause and effect derivation. Something coming into existence without a cause? A higher source of power does exist prove me wrong. Believing in the morality of a human being has led to gruesome torture and inhuman activities and if we look at history and COMPARE history we will see that nothing comes from atheism but KAOs. Hope this helped.
@@Christopher6hf It is itrational to make an implausible pronouncement and then claim its irrefutability because its truth cannot be contested. If you maintain that purple people eaters exist on Mars can I prove that they don't? No, not absolutely, but since there is no evidence that they exist other than your statement, I can say that it is highly unlikely. The same applies to God. We have nothing but the claims of humans that God exists. I can't say with absolute certainty that there is no such being, but because there is no empirical evidence of it I can say that to the best of my knowledge God does not exist. Also, the existence if things we don't understand does not prove the existence of God. We learn the causes of new things constantly. I think you share somewhat of how I believe. Religions are all « wrong » to a certain extent, especially and obviously when it comes to the myths they create. I love how he describes the dictionary...like a true scientists. Science does not define the rules by which the universe must behave; it observes and catalogs the properties the universe displays. Similarly, the dictionary observes and catalogs how each word is used at that particular moment in our human, cultural, linguistic evolution. Some words have multiple meanings. Many words can have roughly the same meaning. Some words, known as contranyms, can mean one thing _and_ the opposite thing, depending on _context._ Therefore... When discussing Atheism, Agnosticism, or even...for instance...Christianity, one of the most important things to ask the _user_ of the word is, "How exactly do _you_ mean that?" With that in mind, regarding the need for another word to describe Neil's position, Apistevist: Someone who rejects using _faith_ as a legitimate method to reach conclusions.
@@drsatan9617 You're right that Apestivism, "...isn't a position of belief or disbelief in gods," but it _does_ directly influence how one arrives at such a position.
@@drsatan9617 So your position of belief or disbelief in gods _does_ employ an element of faith, rather than being solely dependent on evidence and logic?
As an atheist I don't challenge the beliefs of others, until they push their belief on me. Even then I don't tell them they are wrong, I just present logical contradictions and explain why these contradictions bother me. I defend my lack of faith, I don't attack their faith. I let them try and explain and while they try, they may struggle and they may have a crisis of faith, but that is their issue to deal with. If they're going to believe in something to the point that they will try and force others to conform to what they believe, it is not unreasonable for me to demand that they know precisely what it is that they actually believe, and that they be capable of defending their beliefs, if they're going to challenge mine. It may not be fair, that I come to this battle of witts better armed, but I never start the fight.
@pyongyangbroadcastingservi3086 I'll start with an easy one: You have an all-knowing God who starts off wrathful (Old Testament) and then becomes forgiving and loving (New Testament) An all-knowing being wouldn't fundamentally change its disposition. It's illogical Here's another simple one: If the fruit from the tree of knowledge had to be eaten, before man could comprehend good and evil, how then could man know that it was good to follow God's will or evil to disobey? They were created ignorant and then judged for behaving ignorantly. Seriously, how can an all-knowing being condemn them for actions he knew they would commit in a scenario he engineered? If I put a steak in front of a hungry wild dog, is it rational for me to blame the dog for eating it, at what point do I stop blaming the dog for being a dog and take some personal goddamned accountability?
@@brye687 God was always forgiving and merciful, He never changed. He gave Adam and Eve the right to be image-bearers by honoring their choice instead of returning them to dust for breaking the single commandment he had for them. God is the eternal Good, when he feels wrath it is sinless in the same way he feels jealousy. When the Father (God) completely destroyed the Canaanites and cursed Esau, it was no different from when the Son (God) rebuked the Pharisees and Jews in saying they were followers of the Synagogue of Satan. The second point is invalid, Adam and Eve fully understood good and evil and their reasons for eating the fruit were evil (Genesis 3:4-6). Yet just as quickly as God laments injustice, he calls for Vengeance to the serpent: “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:15) If he does not condemn them he is unjust. It is self-evident the higher good of free will outweighs all human-brought evils. Wild dogs aren't image-bearers, neither are humans truly masters.
@pyongyangbroadcastingservi3086 @pyongyangbroadcastingservi3086 Invalid, I don't think so... If Adam and Eve fully understood good and evil, what was the purpose of the fruit? You can argue around bad storytelling, but the contradiction remains. And God knew (if truly all-knowing) that they would eat the fruit when he put it before them, meaning it was HIS intent that they eat the fruit. If you intentionally create a situation knowing the outcome, then that outcome must be your intention. Thus, if the outcome was evil, then God's intent was evil. The humans behaved as intended by God, had he wanted a different outcome, he would have created a scenario that would have produced the desired outcome. The crux of omniscience. And as far as God being sinless in his wrath, Who cares? Sin is a condemnation by God. The fact that God doesn't condemn himself doesn't excuse his wrath. Plagues Pestilence Floods Genocide Animal sacrifice Murder of 1st born children The destruction of cities (Including the children of those cities) Forsaking his own son to the cross You can call it sinless, but you can not convince me it's love. You also mention that he punishes the serpent. Remind me who created the serpent? When did he give the serpent free will? And why punish the serpent for doing what it was created to do? Shifting the blame to serpents, demons, and devils makes no sense. If God is omnipotent and omniscient and the creator of all things, then he is the architect of evil and the creator of devils. If I built a bomb and placed it in a school and children die, would you blame the bomb for doing what it was created to do, or would you blame the bomb maker? God created evil, and blames the devil and blames man. An all-knowing being has to know that with absolute power comes absolute responsibility.
@@brye687 Your arguments are logically fallacious. The purpose of the fruit was to show Adam and Eve would still eat it even with God giving them paradise. There are no contradictions. God knew they would eat the fruit, but it wasn't his intent, it was the intent of Adam and Eve. God gave humans free will, to jump to the conclusion his intent is evil is completely nonsensical. If God had to circumvent the inherent impurity of mankind then it would only ignore the problem instead of solve it. There is no "crux of omniscience;" if anything, this just reads like a particularly sophomoric application of the problem of evil which has been rebuked countless of times now. I can show you Lactantius' refutation against Epicureanism if you'd like. Lastly, God did not create evil. He created humans and angels who created evil, but He created only them. To say God inherits the sin by extension as the ultimate origin is illogical. God is the eternal Good, it is completely impossible for him to sin. Before I forget, you saying "The fact that God doesn't condemn himself doesn't excuse his wrath" is a manifest heresy, I advise you to watch your tongue. The statement implies humans can righteously judge God, but in comparison you are just a vessel of clay which bears an image, spirit, and soul, you and man will never be God. It is these false teachings through which God's tribunal is almost undoubtedly forced to expel the revolting like Antipope John-Paul II and Francis to the eternal inferno for their untruthful teachings.

That is a excellent point. That people that use religion and God for good outweighs the ones that use it for bad.

The hyperbolic number of 18,000 is disingenuously overinflated because Agnostics and "Atheists" think it helps their idiot capitulation of "tHeRe Is ToO mAnY cHoIcEs FoR uS to KnOw ThE tRuTh" -counting stories of people worshiping things that they thought (or knew) were just spiritual entities, NOT "gods", will result in moronic counts that end up looking like they're in the thousands, so if you take all the smaller entities out and realize that a lot of those tallies for that "18,000" number are talking about SIMILAR beings, meaning that there were "gods" that were counted MULTIPLE times to come up with that moronic "18,000" number, it then becomes a bit easier to figure things out once you realize what kind of disinfo it is to say that there are "18,000 dIfFeReNt gOdS". 👍
The existence of God is self evident, that's WHY secularists have the burden of proof on them, and MOST scientists throughout history have BEEN RELIGIOUS, but more specifically Christian -whether it's the CODE of reality with DNA (4-bit 3-D code couldn't just magically materialize naturally), the LAWS of nature (AGAIN with NO WAY TO COME ABOUT NATURALLY), or even Historical proof of things that happened in the Bible IN THE WAY THAT THE BIBLE SAYS, like the historical evidence of what happened at the crossing of the Red Sea, the proof is literally all over the place, and to deny the existence of God means that you either don't really care about the Truth, or actively hate the Truth. 💯
What it boils down to, is that we all have this time to find the Truth while we are alive, and if we don't figure it out before we pass, we'll KNOW Him in one way or another when all is said and done. ✌

Because the concept of morality sprouted from
the understanding of our own mortality, and we cannot have a fully honest conversation about right and wrong with someone who believes their actions have consequences past their own death.
Thank you for sharing this. For me, it's more about how people live their earthly lives. Your comment has me thinking about another aspect, though.
And, by the way, the reason life forms on Earth are compatible with gravity is not because God made it so; it is because we evolved to be compatible with the gravity of this planet. You've got it backwards.
If you tell people you're an Atheist they look at you like you have no moral compass, because you think for yourself and utilize logic. Religious people need a God standing over their shoulders every day of their lives to ensure they know right from wrong. You aren't very moral if you need a God to tell you not to do harm to other human beings on this planet.

When discussing Atheism, Agnosticism, or even...for instance...Christianity, one of the most important things to ask the _user_ of the word is, "How exactly do _you_ mean that?"
With that in mind, regarding the need for another word to describe Neil's position, Apistevist: Someone who rejects using _faith_ as a legitimate method to reach conclusions.
But that isn't a position of belief or disbelief in gods
@@drsatan9617 You're right that Apestivism, "...isn't a position of belief or disbelief in gods," but it _does_ directly influence how one arrives at such a position.
@@OmniphonProductions not for me
@@drsatan9617 So your position of belief or disbelief in gods _does_ employ an element of faith, rather than being solely dependent on evidence and logic?
@@OmniphonProductions nope. No faith, I don't hold the belief that faith can't be used to prove things I just haven't been convinced that they can
To say there is no God is natural but to say there is God is nothing but faith..Faith and Fact are not the same 😅
As an atheist I don't challenge the beliefs of others, until they push their belief on me.
What logical contradictions?
@pyongyangbroadcastingservi3086 I'll start with an easy one:
You have an all-knowing God who starts off wrathful (Old Testament) and then becomes forgiving and loving (New Testament)
An all-knowing being wouldn't fundamentally change its disposition. It's illogical
Here's another simple one:
If the fruit from the tree of knowledge had to be eaten, before man could comprehend good and evil, how then could man know that it was good to follow God's will or evil to disobey?
Yet just as quickly as God laments injustice, he calls for Vengeance to the serpent: “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)
If he does not condemn them he is unjust. It is self-evident the higher good of free will outweighs all human-brought evils. Wild dogs aren't image-bearers, neither are humans truly masters.
@pyongyangbroadcastingservi3086 @pyongyangbroadcastingservi3086
Invalid, I don't think so...
And as far as God being sinless in his wrath,
Who cares? Sin is a condemnation by God.
The fact that God doesn't condemn himself doesn't excuse his wrath.
Plagues
Pestilence
Floods
Genocide
Animal sacrifice
Murder of 1st born children
The destruction of cities
(Including the children of those cities)
Forsaking his own son to the cross
You can call it sinless, but you can not convince me it's love.
If I built a bomb and placed it in a school
and children die, would you blame the bomb for doing what it was created to do, or would you blame the bomb maker?
