Tyson is the first thing that comes to my mind whenever I think of boxing...
My grandma (from an eastern european country) never watched boxing or basketball or knew most of the artists. Doesn't speak English, doesn't know anyone abroad outside of couple names:

I love the way he constantly trained footwork and fundamentals to the point where he didn't even think about it, it just happened.
What is equally amazing is the stamina. The upper body movement from side to side is using energy, then he's moving forward and finally, punches in bunches, hard,fast,and precise.

It's not possible. He's a legitimate ONCE. EVER. If there was a Tyson today, you'd need a Foreman, Ali, Holyfield, Razor, Shavers, etc. While about every sport has improved over the decades, Boxing from last century into this one may be the one sport that has arguably declined, skillwise. Specifically in heavyweight. I could be wrong, but it seems like less widespread technique+power fighters today. Less fights that are somehow extremely hard hitting AND over 3 rounds still going, etc. Idk I could be completely wrong stat wise. I'm just speaking from the eye test.

The mid to late 80s are widely considered one of the worst eras in HW history.
tyson could fight but he wasnt top 10. The reality is that he dominated the worst era in boxing, the 80s. The 80s was just terrible for heavyweights and had no good boxer in that time period, atleast for heavyweights. Tyson avoided every good boxer of the 90s and lost every big fight
