After investigations on the disaster, the KLM pilot was faulted for having added fuel to his plane before take-off. It's said that if that wasn't the case, he would have had a chance to take off before hitting the Pan Am plane. Sadly though, all that fuel made the accident much worse after the blast. Abel is a very good narrator. I have watched the Panam-KLM documentary but it still feels interesting to listen to Abel.

I had watched the disaster because I am an aviator and I have a lot to learn from the documentaries on air crash investigations.But I must admit that mkuru just told that story like an experienced veteran in aviation. That was well done mkuru. And another aviation fact here: Do you know that the first ever Jumbo crash (Boeing 747) happened at Nairobi's JKIA airport in November 1974?

It was a Lufthansa Flight(Flight 540).. Crashed and caught fire shortly after take off. It was enroute to S.A. Johannesburg.Sadly, 55 passengers perished

Mkuru you were right when you say that the first Officer of the KLM aliraise an alarm when the captain decided to take off. But what you've not pointed out is that at that time, in the cockpit, the Captain's word was the law, and a Captain could not be corrected by a junior officer. So when the first Officer raised the alarm, Captain alipuuza tu, and it cost them lives. But sasa walicome wakachange wakasema that the relationship between a Captain and his first in command should be more of teamwork. Yaani kusaidiana maze, so now while the Captain is in charge, the First Officer also has a say. Isn't that an object lesson even in life?🤔. Nangoja like yangu kutoka kwako sasa Mkuru😅
