There was also a wealthy passenger named Benjamin Guggenheim. He was in first class. It is believed that after he was offered a priority on the life boats because he was rich, he declined the offer and told the crew "I am dressed up in my best and am prepared to go down like a gentleman. But I would like to have a Brandy" He then went to ship's bar, opened his favorite drink and it is believed he stayed there until his death.
I admire how he didn't want to be favored over other people for his millions. His story touches me the most.

In the RMS Titanic there was a lady known as Violet Jessop. She was a nurse and a ship stewardess . In 1911 she was onboard the RMS Olympic when it collided with the HMS Hawke a british warship. In 1912 She survived the disastrous sinking on the RMS Titanic. She also survived the sinking of the HMHS Britannic in 1916.
Not to mention that she was only 29 year old during the sinking of the Britannic.
She died at an age of 83 in 1971.

There is another unspoken hero by the name CHARLES JOUGHIN.
As everything was going to shit, Charles Joughin was remarkably calm. When the RMS Titanic hit an iceberg on April 14, 1912, even the ship’s staff was in a state of panic. No one stepped up to the plate to take charge. In fact, most of the staff were running around just as frantically as the passengers.
So, our boy Charles stepped in.
Charles was head baker and fittingly, his first order of business was sending loaves of bread to the lifeboats so people would have food to last until they were rescued.
He continued by helping others onto their boats until he reached his own. Only instead of hopping on, he forced a group of women and children on, saving their lives.
The icy water filled the ship quickly and Charles was fully aware that his chance of survival was slim at best, so he did what any person would do: get drunk out of their mind.
He went to his cabin and got as much whiskey as he could. On his way, he threw chairs into the ocean for people to use as flotation devices.
And then he jumped off the ship, into the freezing water.
He spent hours in the unforgiving Atlantic ocean.
Most died in minutes.
The alcohol coursing through his body fought off the cold and kept him alive.
“I was just paddling and treading water,” he said.
As dawn broke, he found a lifeboat and swam towards it, only to find that there was no space for him.
Luckily, another nearby boat had room and he managed to climb on. They were rescued soon after and there was no illness or injury to even prove he’d been in the water.
Charles would go on to join the Navy and died at 78, living a full life thanks to some whiskey.

@H M sometimes those phones may have been stolen or involved in fraudulent activities and in looking for them, the serial numbers to the phones are used. So getting you is easy and it is atleast safe to keep off 2nd hand phones

Another issue is, the last minute change of captain was not well crafted, in fact he should have been maybe co-pilot, because he knew it more than any other person.

Also there was a baker drinking during the sinking of the Titanic. That man was Charles Joughin, who was the head baker on board the Titanic and the famous survivor who got hammered on whiskey. It is said at low to moderate doses of alcohol, cold water of Atlantic would still tighten Joughin blood vessels and cancel of vasodilatation effect of alcohol.

Yeah, nice one. Another thing, the ship was fueled by steam so high temperatures at the sides were weakened by heat. That's the reason the metallic parts were easily broken when the ship hit the iceberg.

The key error love it, if I’m not mistaken a last minute change of shift was also a factor in the knucklehead forgot to leave the keys on the ship keys that went to a locker that kept the binoculars that could’ve helped him see the freaking iceberg love the title bro but I want to hear you tell the story, my man!!!

The Binoculars was actually the Key, no pun intended because if he saw the ice Berge in a distance of 3km, with the binoculars he would have seen it maybe in a distance of 5 times more before the actual distance(this is all hypothetical but you get the point). Essentially binoculars are enhanced eyesight. What he saw with his eyes he would have seen better(not necessarily because it was dark) but faster/Earlier with the binoculars(the point).

Stories have it that there was a nearby ship SS California like 20miles away. Apparently it had stopped to avoid the very iceberg Titanic hit, and when they shot the flares to the air the captain ignored them saying they company rockets, only for them to realise they were distress calls the following day when it was too late.

To add on what u talked about at the beginning about good leadership..I've been living in Australia for a while now, and the way government ya huku ilisaidia watu wao during covid..it was great...people could access money from welfare (government)for free till they found a job..u were also allowed to get 1.6 million shillings from your retirement savings incase u needed it..yani basically what am saying, the Australian government took care of its people..the tax we pay is a bit higher, but u can see where the money is being used..hopefully Kenya will change for the better one day..coz i wanna move back home..

Mkuru there is something you missed on the story.
the ship had been burning for three weeks and the captain knew it and he decided to handle it on his own. the burning weakened the metal on that side which crashed into the iceberg. this made it for parking of the ship to change such that the burnt side faced the sea side that nobody could see it.
they had just travelled for four days😃

1st great story, great detail to the story!
The reason the front side of tbe titanic was easily damaged, and not the whole side, waa that during construction there were budget cuts and hurriedly completed, not enough reinforcement was put there. Some reports detail that due to the size, there was a fire at some point which was covered up.
All these errora were caused by the simple fact that funds were drying up, the investors didn't know it would cost them that much for that long, pressure had mounted to start the sail ASAP! so it was hurried and stuff overlooked, errors hidden in reports and pap! Ikakunywa maji
