Quite right Chris - You owe us nothing! You certainly don't owe us an explanation - but thanks for sharing. Hope your son makes a full and speedy recovery. You are my absolute favourite running youtuber because you are not only a skilled content creator, but modest and authentic. Looking forward to more videos (but only if/when you want to!).
Your son is a great fellow. Going to support his team from the sidelines takes courage and generosity. He'll go far. And I am very happy you are BACK!!❤
I work from home and have a few TH-camrs I watch to keep me company while I work. You have definitely been missed in my living room! Looking forward to what’s to come
Still the best flybys Chris, you haven’t lost any of your skills during the break in recording. Always more important things in life than creating You Tube content. One a week, one a month or one every 6 months you still have plenty of followers. Excited to see the forward look next time.
Good to have you back, do what you need to do, we are the lucky ones. I haven’t uploaded our next video for about 3/4 weeks as I am currently ill with a chest cold… the pressure mounts. But we look after ourselves and our families first 😀
Good to have you back Chris! Sorry to hear about your son mate! Danielles son had exactly the same problem last year too ACL tear from playing football. Hes getting back to sport now. I am sure your boy will bounce back quickly hes young, fit and strong. I look forward to seeing what you have planned for the rest of the year mate. 😎🤘
Thanks Ben, I remember you saying that. It's a common sporting injury but a lot less common for young people. Something to look back on positively once the recovery is complete.
So good to hear from you again. Was just thinking about your channel the other day! Sorry to hear about your son, but I’m sure he’ll come back strong as ever! 🤓
Thanks Heather. He's certainly got the will power, so hopefully this will be a setback that he can look back on later in life, as just a little bump in the road 👍😊
Great to have your videos back, Chris 👍Sorry to hear about your lad - hope he comes back super strong 💪 I missed a year of running with injury myself, 1st race back done last Sunday! 🎉 Looking forward to seeing more content from you soon, but whenever your schedule allows 🙂
We were only saying at the weekend that we’d not seen anything from you in a while. Glad you’re getting back to it and that your son is making a good recovery xx
Thank you Alison. I honestly didn't expect to have been missed on TH-cam by so many. This support demonstrates it was the right time to make a comeback 👍😊
No explanation needed family and life come first and always should. Having said that great to see you backout running and sharing your experiences with us. Speedy recovery to your son. All the best
Welcome back! 👍 Sorry to hear about your recent challenges: life can be such a rollercoaster. Well done you on calling out the silly comment and on rising above it: haters gonna hate, but they also lead much less happy lives… You keep doing what you do, lots of people love you for it 👍
Loving the return Chris.. as a Redhill running local it's lovely watching you run many of the local routes (and a few I haven't been down.. bit of inspiration there alone).. I overtook a horse while running on that Gatton trail!!! LOL!.. hopefully will photobomb you at a local Parkrun soon enough or see you running circles at Battlebridge.. wishing your son a strong recovery too!
Thank you. We have some great running routes round here, both on the pavements and the trails. I've not been to Battlebridge for a while, must do something about that 👍😊
A very honest video Chris! I know you didn’t have to explain yourself, life happens and I know running is a passion, but family does come first. I wish your son a speedy recovery and isn’t in too much pain, and is back out playing soon - it cant come quick enough for him!
Thank you. Most of the time he isn't in any pain but the recovery is a balancing act between pushing the physio to build up strength and over doing it, which can cause pain/swelling. But so far, so good 👍 😊
Well said Chris. Really happy to see content from you again, and I will be tuning in whenever you post something, and giving you a thumbs up. I hope your son makes a full and speedy recovery. Best wishes.
Wishing your son the speediest of recoveries. You need to run when you want and you don’t need to apologise to anyone. You’re always welcome back to the YT family.
Thanks Katie. Hope you are well and your marathon training is going good. His recovery is a long one but he's very motivated (far more than I'd be). Strength training every day and running every other day. Next big milestone will be when he can kick a football (November).
Great to have you back. Just wanted to add you should remind people to make sure they are subscribed because I noticed I wasn't and I don't know how that happened because I was before. Hope your son's recovery goes well.
Great to see you back Chris! First running channel I subscribed to back in 2019 and you inspired to me to start my own channel. Always great content. Ignore the haters, there's always going to be one person having a bad time that feels the need to vent unnecessarily on social media. Rise above, there's nae need!
Hi Chris, Welcome back mate. I just had a link pop up and was excited to see that you were back posting. You know....one thing that we should all expect is that at some time life is going to take over. Sounds like you've been up against it, and I'm very sorry to hear of Rory's ACL injury. My wife is an ex orthopedics scrub nurse, so we know only too well how serious the injury is. Please pass on our best to him for a full recovery. Glad to see that you are back hitting the trails and hope that you are enjoying it. Your postings made a big difference to me when I was going through a really hard time medically myself. I will always be grateful to you for sharing your journey and adventures. Thanks for your commitment to share your experiences and knowledge with us all. I look forward to plenty more pointers in the future. We're with you all the way. Take care, Phil👍
Thanks Phil, that's very kind. At the moment Rory's recovery is going well. The consultant was happy with the reconstructed ACL when we saw him during the week and the physio has increased his strength exercises. So all good news. 👍😊
Thank you Hannah. We are fortunate that his surgery was performed by a very experienced knee consultant and he's now following the physio to the letter. Hopefully that will put him in the position for the best possible outcome 👍😊
Hi Chris - nice to see you back. Really enjoy your videos but don’t think you needed to give an explanation to anyone. Followed all your NDW 50 training and race videos and found them really useful as I done it this year. Just managed to beat the cutoff 12:41 but done it so really happy. Keep up the good work and you are very much appreciated. Ty Gavin
Thanks Gavin. Great to hear that you finished the NDW50. Seeing that finishing line and beating that cut-off is all that matters. Fantastic achievement 👍😊
Thanks Jamie and great to see you've made a come back to our screens as well. I was sorry to hear about your knee injury but glad you've made a recovery 👍😊
Fantastic to see you back on Chris. So sorry to hear about your son and wishing him well for a successful recovery period; you come across as a great Dad giving your unquestionable support & time no matter what you miss out on yourself. I hope I can provide such selfless support to my kids when they have these challenges. Enjoy your running, and looking forward to seeing your next video!
Thanks Tom. I'm sure you would. Challenges happen and we all just have to adapt to cope with them but we can come out of them stronger than before. Thats something I always believe in 👍😊
You owe us no explanation, Chris. I want to say thank you for your videos - I signed up to run my first half at Wokingham Half Marathon and watched your video of the pacing you did there to get an idea of what the course looked like. Because of the work you put in, I felt like I knew the course and knew what was coming and it made the day better. So thank you for that.
Great video Chris.. TH-cam should revolve around real life not the other way around..love your films, good luck to you and your son, always do what’s best for you and your family.. the uploads will take care of themselves ..🤝
Great to see you back uploading Chris! And I wish your son a speedy recovery!! 💪🏻 totally agree with your views on the comment! Absolutely no need for it
Great to see you back, Chris. I really understand how your son must be feeling. Ive always been an avid runner, but last year i was diagnosed with a horrible, rare middle ear disorder that completely stopped me doing most forms of exercise for about 11 months. Im managing it better now and secured a 10K PB at the Worthing 10k yesterday. I dont think it can be underestimated just how devastating it can be for us runners to have our ability to run taken away from us (or indeed any athlete in any sport). Wishing him a speedy recovery - remember, the come back is always stronger than the setback!
Thanks Sam. Sorry to hear about your ear issue and the impact it has had on your running but a 10k PB is fantastic news. Sadly injury is part and parcel of any sport but serious injuries are just so devastating and can be so unexpected. I think we should all just enjoy every moment that we can do the sport we love because we never know what is around the corner 👍😊
Chris, I am very sorry for your son with his serious injury, and pray he recovers well. I remember one of your older videos where you had him at a park run and he said on camera that he prefers football to running. Football is his passion. I hope he returns to his beloved sport soon.
Thank you Cathy. It was a terrible shock at the time. To be fair, he took the news a lot better than me. Injuries in sport are obviously always going to happen but an ACL rupture is one of the worse especially for someone so young. Not only is it a year of recovery but his football development is on an extended hold. But I know he'll be back and until then he'll continue to be a supporter.
@@HereWeAreRunning I have heard of ACL injuries in professional athletes here in the US, and I know it can be a devastating injury. Your son apparently has great character in how hard he is working to overcome this. I am sure you are proud of him.
Yes indeed. It's one of those things where it's fine until it's not fine. There is nothing in between but I'm confident his focus on recovery will work well for him.
@@HereWeAreRunning Chris, I agree - I believe your son will fully recover - (1) he is young, and that will help immensely, (2) here in the USA we have had professional athletes with this injury who recovered and were able to return to their professional sport, and (3) your son clearly has a loving and supportive Father who will encourage him during any dark and painful days. Good luck, Rory! [I hope I am remembering his name correctly from one of your older videos.]
I did wonder Chris what had happened , you did pop up yesterday out of the blue thankfully, very best wishes to your lad , looking forward to you making more down to earth videos 👍
It’s great to see you back Chris! I for one, have missed your content! Really sorry to hear about your son’s injury. As you say, he’ll be back even stronger. Thanks so much for sharing your news - good and bad. Keep going Chris! Brilliant to see you back!
Hi Chris, I’m so glad to see you back, and so sorry for all your troubles. Wishing your son a great recovery, it sounds like he’s on a mission 😂. I have wondered over the months if you’re ok, and hats off to you for being so honest on camera. Onward and upward my friend, always pleased to see your channel popping up on my feed . 👏👏
Chris great to have you back, fingers crossed your son will make a full recovery. I haven't run for 15 months due to live in general and lost motivation like yourself ,it's only now that I'm thinking about starting again and listening to you has helped me get my trainers back on so cheers mate look forward to many more videos. 👌👍
Sorry to hear that your running has also suffered. Really hope that these next few videos will help to motivate you, as it sounds like I've been through a similar situation and I'm now turning the corner 👍😊
Welcome back Chris. We have missed you. Sometimes life gets in the way, and it takes all you have to give and family always comes first. Your son will be back doing what he loves soon. Children bounce back so easy. It's great to see you back and your true followers will always be here waiting.
Really good to have you back. Your channel was one of the first I came across when I got into running in lockdown, and the fact I’m up the road from you made it particularly special as I run some of the same trails as you. Totally understand that life gets in the way and you don’t owe us anything! And best wishes to your son, hope he’s on the mend and will be back stronger than ever.
Great video and thank you for your honesty. Love watching your videos and I’ve seen you when I’ve been marshalling the run series events. As a fellow runner life throws challenges which affect our ability to train. I hope your son is recovering well from his injury. Please come to East Grinstead and do a video on the 10k. I’m marshalling and it’s a great event which is run by my running club, East Grinstead Runners. Look forward to more of your videos.
Wishing your son a strong recovery. Completely agree with what you said about that comment. I didn't watch your videos regularly but I noticed your absence and just assumed that other parts of your life had taken over and hoped you'd be back. I'm glad you are.
Hey Chris! 👋 Soooo good to see you back! All the best to your son and his recovery. As you said, he'll be stronger than ever once he can get back on that pitch. Really looking forward to next week's video! Remember - you don't owe anyone anything, so only share your running adventures when it suits you. Always know that your videos are greatly appreciated and enjoyed 😊
Nice to see you back Chris best wishes to your lad ! Once he’s back fit again be ruthless and tell him your taxi has stopped ha ! Best wishes on your videos ! I’d like to some reviews on products maybe?
Nicely done Chris - sorry to hear about your lad, speedy recovery. You don’t need to explain anything, as a fellow running TH-camr (earlier in my journey) I know how much effort it takes to put these videos together and how much time. Great to have you back and most importantly, prioritising your loved ones and being authentic rather than worrying about social media commitments is 100% the right thing to do 🫶🏻
Great to see you back Chris All the best in yours sons recovery Love what you do but as a father also I understand how hard it can be to just go out for a run sometimes. Family always comes first. All the best
Fantastic to see you back and on one of the best trails in the South of the UK. TH-cam algorithm put your video right at the top for me today and I'm glad it did. Will see you in and around the NDW.
Thanks Ben. Good to hear that the algorithm is suggesting the video. I used a few tactics but wasn't sure if they would work or not. See you out on the trails soon 👍😊
Good to see you back and hope your son's recovery continues well. I did see a notification of this video and indeed saw your Brooks Ghost 16 one so the algorithm does seem to remember some of us!
Thanks Tim. Good to hear that the algorithm is still getting the videos out there. The interesting thing was that my last video before the break was the Ghost Max and it's done very well, 6 months later the Ghost 16 has reached far fewer people but this video is definitely reaching lots of people that enjoy the content, which I'm happy about 👍😊
@@HereWeAreRunning I did a video on the Ghost 15 and did not get that great views. I tend to think Ghost fans are very loyal and don’t need to watch reviews of the next one!
Thanks Brian. It's a very slow recovery with lots of bumps to be expected along the way but he is very determined, so I'm sure he'll come back from this both physically and mentally stronger 👍😊
Great to have you back posting content again Chris. Wishing your son a successful rehabilitation. I think you have addressed that comment in the way you always have been and come across on this channel, a humble person who has the best interests of his audience at the centre of everything you do and promoting running in such a positive and inspiring way. Just do you. Nobody has the right to expect content. Looking forward to more content when it’s right for you. Take care and wishing you and your family all the best.
Thanks Mark for your kind words. They'll definitely be some more regular content coming over the summer, perhaps not as regular as there once was but hopefully a lot more regular than the last year 👍😊
Glad you are back Chris. I was pleased to see you running more consistently on Strava well before this video came out. Good luck with your future plans and hope you are enjoying building your running fitness back up. That has always been my favourite part if I have had a break from running.
Thanks Dave. I'm enjoying the stage I've got to at the moment but it's taken several months to get here. Still a long way to go but I feel I can start to see progress now 👍😊
Chris, I am glad you are back posting videos on your channel. I have missed you. I wish you all the best in getting back into running condition, building your channel, and being emotional support for your son as he recovers.
Well done Chris Had wondered that had not seen you around in a long while (I didn't have your number) Hope to see you around soon & your son smashes his return Jack Finn
Hey Chris I was sent by Aubrey A GOOD friend of mine..my name is Seth and here for support I'm a average hobby jogger up to 10 k and a shoe running tech junkie can't wait to follow you on your journey one love God bless
Good to see you back Chris, I’m sure your son will make a full recovery, he’s got that thing that us dads don’t have anymore, it’s what the medical profession call “Youth Juice” 💪🏼😂 as for the keyboard warrior, not worth the time of day!!! 👊🏻
Thank you. Yes, he certainly has plenty of "youth juice" and the recovery is going well so far. He just needs to make sure he doesn't push himself too fast 👍😊
Thanks Julie. I've missed the trails. It's taken a while to build the fitness to do that run but it was really nice to be out there enjoying the countryside. 👍😊
Thanks Darren. His attitude towards his recovery is very good but I think with this type of injury, there is always a bit of luck required but he's half Irish, so maybe that will help 👍😊

It’s great to see you back Chris! I for one, have missed your content! Really sorry to hear about your son’s injury. As you say, he’ll be back even stronger. Thanks so much for sharing your news - good and bad. Keep going Chris! Brilliant to see you back!
Thanks Steve. Your support is greatly appreciated and hopefully the content will be a bit more regular again 👍😊
Thank you. Yes he's definitely on a mission and I know that however long it takes, he'll be back stronger than before 👍😊
Glad to have you back! Missed these videos. Hope your son makes a speedy and full recovery.
Cheers!
Many thanks Nick. It's good to be making videos again 👍😊
Best wishes to your son for hos rehab and recovery. A like and a comment for you and the algorithm, good to see you back.
Many thanks, I think we are winning against the algorithm 👍😊
Good to see you back hope your son getting better.
Thanks Andy 👍 😊
Chris great to have you back, fingers crossed your son will make a full recovery. I haven't run for 15 months due to live in general and lost motivation like yourself ,it's only now that I'm thinking about starting again and listening to you has helped me get my trainers back on so cheers mate look forward to many more videos. 👌👍
Sorry to hear that your running has also suffered. Really hope that these next few videos will help to motivate you, as it sounds like I've been through a similar situation and I'm now turning the corner 👍😊
Speedy recovery for your son . Sending you and yours the best
Thank you for your support, much appreciated 👍😊
Welcome back, Chris, and best of luck to your son with his recovery 👍🏻🙂
Thanks Mark, much appreciated 👍😊
Glad you are back Chris 💪🏃
Thank you 👍 😊
Welcome back Chris nothing more than a bump in the road for both of all be it a painful one best wishes to both of you.
Thank you Paul 👍😊
Great vlog - glad your son is recovering - great words regarding the negative comment .
Looking forward to future training vlogs and race vlogs too 😃
Thanks Claire. I've a growing list of video ideas and I'm excited about sharing the content 👍😊
Welcome back Chris. We have missed you. Sometimes life gets in the way, and it takes all you have to give and family always comes first. Your son will be back doing what he loves soon. Children bounce back so easy.
It's great to see you back and your true followers will always be here waiting.
Thanks so much for the supportive words 👍😊
Great to have you back. Always family first.
Thanks Joanne. Wise words and very true 👍😊
Welcome back u inspired me to run north down way 50.
Thank you. Good to hear that my videos are helping other runners. I still consider NDW50 as one of my biggest achievements.
Thanks Nick. We certainly have some nice trails round hear 👍😊
Thanks Caroline. When is the 10k at East Grinstead? I'm currently considering several events.
Wishing your son a strong recovery. Completely agree with what you said about that comment. I didn't watch your videos regularly but I noticed your absence and just assumed that other parts of your life had taken over and hoped you'd be back. I'm glad you are.
Thank you. Really appreciate you watching 👍😊
Thanks Kerry. You are always so supportive and it's much appreciated 👍😊
So good to see you back! God luck to your son with his rehab, too!🙂
Thank you. Fingers crossed, his hard work will pay off 👍😊
Great to see you back Chris. Wishing you the best with your running and everything else going on.
Thanks Michael, your support is much appreciated 👍😊
Glad your back Chris, wishing your son a speedy recovery!
Thank you, I really appreciate the support 👍😊
Nice to see you back Chris best wishes to your lad ! Once he’s back fit again be ruthless and tell him your taxi has stopped ha ! Best wishes on your videos ! I’d like to some reviews on products maybe?
Thank you, I'm not sure when but some day I sure my kids will be taxiing me around instead 😂
Nicely done Chris - sorry to hear about your lad, speedy recovery. You don’t need to explain anything, as a fellow running TH-camr (earlier in my journey) I know how much effort it takes to put these videos together and how much time. Great to have you back and most importantly, prioritising your loved ones and being authentic rather than worrying about social media commitments is 100% the right thing to do 🫶🏻
Very true words, thank you 👍😊
Glad you are back Chris. No what it is like fitting in running with a young family. I hope your son makes a speedy recovery!
Thanks Mark, much appreciated 👍😊
Great to see you back Chris
All the best in yours sons recovery
Love what you do but as a father also I understand how hard it can be to just go out for a run sometimes. Family always comes first. All the best
Thanks Ben. Very true words 👍😊
Glad to see you back. Sorry to hear about your son’s injury but, he’s young and strong and will soon be back doing all the sports he loves.
It's good to be back 👍😊
Great to have you back!
Wishing a good recovery for your son.
Life happens to all of us.
It does indeed. Many thanks 👍😊
Nice to have you Back @here we are running!
Thanks Frank 👍 😊
A good point, Ghost Max was a brand new shoe, so maybe that had something to do with it getting more views 🤔
Welcome back Chris hope your son is recovering well keep your chin up 👍
Thanks Brian. It's a very slow recovery with lots of bumps to be expected along the way but he is very determined, so I'm sure he'll come back from this both physically and mentally stronger 👍😊
welcome back Chris!
Thanks, it's good to be back 👍😊
Great to have you back posting content again Chris.
They'll definitely be some more regular content coming over the summer, perhaps not as regular as there once was but hopefully a lot more regular than the last year 👍😊
@@HereWeAreRunning excellent that’s great news 👍🏻😀
Great video Chris. Love your honesty and wish your son all the best. Take care. 👏👍💪
Thanks David. Really appreciate the support 👍😊
Still a long way to go but I feel I can start to see progress now 👍😊
Glad you’re back :) major sigh at the comment, thought you addressed it v well
Thank you Emma, appreciate the support 👍😊
Chris, I am glad you are back posting videos on your channel. I have missed you. I wish you all the best in getting back into running condition, building your channel, and being emotional support for your son as he recovers.
Thanks Cathy. Your support is really appreciated 👍😊
@@HereWeAreRunning 😀 You're welcome, Chris.
Well done Chris
Had wondered that had not seen you around in a long while (I didn't have your number)
Hope to see you around soon & your son smashes his return
Jack Finn
Thanks Jack. Hope to see you at an event soon 👍😊
Great to see you back Chris
Thanks Neil, it's good to be back 👍😊
Missed your videos Chris. Welcome back.👍
Than you Graham, it's good to be back 👍😊
Hey Chris I was sent by Aubrey A GOOD friend of mine..my name is Seth and here for support I'm a average hobby jogger up to 10 k and a shoe running tech junkie can't wait to follow you on your journey one love God bless
Hi Seth, welcome to the channel. Thanks for joining the journey 👍😊
He just needs to make sure he doesn't push himself too fast 👍😊
llleeetttssss ggggoooooo.... good to see the return!
Thanks Aubrey. Hope to see you out on a run sometime soon 👍😊
Looking forward to more stuff!
Thank you. I've got a list of ideas, for the next few videos so just a case of finding the time 👍😊
Welcome back great to see you back out on the trails
Thanks Julie. I've missed the trails. It's taken a while to build the fitness to do that run but it was really nice to be out there enjoying the countryside. 👍😊
“if you are new to the channel, why not consider to subscribe ”
Well said 👍😊
👌
👍😊
Good luck to your son, but by the sound of his attitude I don’t he needs luck. Ps your videos are amazing
Thanks Darren. His attitude towards his recovery is very good but I think with this type of injury, there is always a bit of luck required but he's half Irish, so maybe that will help 👍😊
Thought that story was going to end with your kid dying with the music over the top
Sad music for a sad moment but thankfully not as bad as that.
