Merci Flora de nous honorer, nous les Parisiens, de votre présence. Merci pour les choses merveilleuses que vous avez dites sur notre ville. But oh my word , you are too humble. I followed one or 2 of my friends on tracking and added you to the list of people I tracked. YOU RAN ONE OF THE BEST PACED MARATHONS I HAVE EVER SEEN! You really SHOULD share your 5km splits with subscribers. I fully expected your 5km splits to get slower as the race progressed, but hell no, you showed 98% of us how to close off a marathon during your last 7km. I have run more road marathons than I can remember , but NEVER have I achieved such close to perfect pacing as you did. Not even the ELITES run faster in the last 7km, check out their splits, I have already checked the mens and womens winners splits. Lovely to see your emotion at the end, genuine, honest emotion and you have every reason to be super PROUD of yourself. Onwards and upwards. Much admiration and some more, from Paris. Yes, my city but I was too lazy to go down to watch on Sunday but I am inspired to run this marathon for a 2nd time in 2025.
De rien!! Etc merci beaucoup, trop gentil 😍🥰 haha yeah I'm pretty happy with that, who knew that even splits was the way to run a marathon 😅 something to replicate next time I hope!

I started getting emotional before you even started! It’s so amazing to see you start to come out the other side of EBV. I know how hard it is to do what you love when the chronic fatigue has other plans. Running and post EBV fatigue don’t mix all that well. Years later I still have to be careful but I didn’t know back then that I had EBV or what the consequences were if I didn’t slow down and rest. Being gaslit by doctors certainly delayed the healing. The fact that you maintained your pace at that heart rate is a testament to your mental fortitude and all the hard work you’ve put in. Nourish your body and mind and rest for as long as you need. Remember, you CAN do hard things! I’m so proud of you!!! ❤
Dear Flora, I almost got tears at the end when you started to cry. How brave of you to show your vulnerability! Paris was my first marathon in 2016 and I also havent run one since 5 years now. My next one will be Amsterdam in 2026 where I also work and live close by. This is my first video and looking forward to see more. I already have the feeling that you have been through a lot? Which I can relate to so I’m sure my next marathon will also be very emotional. Kind regards, Leon
I signed up for the Paris maraton 2025, your video is truely helpful to see the route and plan all kilometers step by step :-) Gratulations for your result!
I have enormous admiration for you. I'm at the point in the video where you're tearing up and I'm getting choked up over here, I can completely understand what a big achievement this is especially given the year you've had. I still remember the IT band problems with Tokyo Marathon and have been following along ever since. Just, congratulations on this massive accomplishment and wishing you the best rest and recovery
Wow! absolutely fantastic Flora well done & a great video, it brought back memories for me, how you feel, the atmosphere during the race there nothing like it. Was crying with you at the end, thanks for the post.
Your comment - who needs a heart 😂😂😂. What an emotional finish - huge congrats to you! Have been following you for a while now - it's so great to see you having accomplished this after all you have endured over the year! Looking forward to more of your videos❤
Amazing, so happy for you! You've really inspired me to get back into running after 5 years of knee injuries with 2 surgeries, hope I can get to this point too!
Incredible Flora - well done. Truly amazing especially considering everything that’s been going on for you. Thanks for taking us along with you, I wasn’t expecting to get so emotional with you!
Great effort Flora! I love watching your content, always so positive, even when you're voicing your doubts. Enjoy your recovery and good luck with your next training block and race! 👏👊🙂
Flora that was amazing! Super congrats for finishing =D That was a great pacer/tour guide you had and the guy in the crocs made me chuckle =D Paris is beautiful! Time to celebrate WOOHOO!
Ahhh Flora, well done. I kept checking the live tracker to see how you were doing, and when I saw 4:23 I was proper chuffed for you! Also: what a burst of speed at the end! You overtook loads!
Well done!!! Mega congrats! and Thank YOU for sharing your journey with us. You have no idea how much hope this gives me that i won't be a useless couch potato forever with my chronic fatigue. Take good care of yourself. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Congratulations!! What an experience, and an incredible performance, especially while recovering from illness! You've earned every happy tear! Looking forward to the recovery videos!
I did the half marathon in Paris with my son on the 3rd of march. So nice to see some familiar sites. We went trough Bois de Vincennes also and the finish at Place de la Bastille. Well done!
I am so happy for you. An incredible effort - especially after everything you've gone through over the past year. That really got to me, seeing you get emotional after your finish, and hearing you say that you feel proud of yourself. So you should. I hope you had a lovely celebration!
Those emotions at the end are powerful stuff! A big big bravo for the strong finish and PB! Brit here living in Paris, also ran the race (as my first marathon) and it was a mind-blowing experience. Keep up the good work both with the running and the vlogs :)
Congratulations Flora!! Always so positive and inspirational. ❤ You inspired my running during lockdown but due to illness and life(!) my fitness dropped considerably, but from summer of last year I made a lot changes and I’m hoping to take your positivity and determination to Manchester this Sunday for my first ever marathon! The only goals are to enjoy it and finish it in one piece!
Well done Flora! Awesome finish, you were really motoring! Thanks for a great, professional documentary of the event, again, well done! It brought back memories of my first (and only) marathon - the beautiful Capetown Peninsula Marathon in Jan 1989 which I ran at virtually the same pace and time as you did here clocking a PR at 21km to boot. Awesome Flora. Be well!
🎉🎉 Great job Flora. I would say you must be delighted, but you said it yourself. Must be a great feeling, with all the EBV stuff you have faced to finish and finish in a time you are pleased with. Well done.
Hi Flora, I just wanted to say that your experience helped me through my first 1/4 marathon in Rotterdam yesterday :-) (which has the best atmosphere ever btw) I was very nervous because I’m not a runner naturally (sports in general are not my talent) but knowing that you could complete a marathon with high HR from the beginning cured my anxiety and helped me get through the race and not panic when it got hard. It was my longest run everrr! I had such a wonderful experience and enjoyed every second of it without focusing on time and HR. Now Im planning to run a half and eventually a full marathon. 😊 So a massive THANK YOU for sharing your setbacks, fears and wins ❤ it inspires me to continue running even though it gets hard sometimes.
Congrats Flora ! We know of the journey you've been on, and so happy to see you managing and pushing through. Hope you'll feel fine and be healed entirely soon enough :) Very fun seeing familiar places (I live at the outer edge of Bois de Vincennes and used to be in Bastille all the time, run along the Seine, etc), sad I couldn't do my usual run along the marathoners due to my knee ; next year for sure !
Thrilling Flora! I'm a French living in Somerset. I've been watching your videos for a while. Quelle surprise to see you running the Paris marathon. I ran it too but it was a miserable day for me as I was just coming out of a flu, coughing all the way long, ending in more than 5h. But hey, that was so beautiful run, I'm thinking of doing it again (but shhh that's my secret). Well done again, fantastic run!

6:17 I think the guy running next to you was trying to say that this is where you will find the mayor of Paris. That was Paris City Hall (Hôtel de Ville de Paris). It is decorated for the upcoming Summer Olympics.
Congrats Flora after your nightmare year, know what its like coming back from EBV, and other injuries like ACL repairs, best feeling in the world able to compete again in events and feel alive and well. Hope your go from strength to strength for the rest of the year and stay injury free, safe running :-)
I ran Paris this year also. Ran it 3 times now. First time on the new course. Much prefer the extra around Opera etc at the beginning than when I ran it last in 2015.
