- I took part in a RACE ✅
The Battersea Park 10K Chase The Moon was my first event of 2025 and followed a month of consistent running. In this video I tell you all about my training, how the race went and we take a visit to the National Running Show 2025. All this whilst out on a very early Long Run with a familiar face (@AubreyRunning )

That’s my guy! Such a joy to spend time with you. Thank you for holding us all to account and making silly o’clock actually enjoyable
Thank you Aubrey, for coming up with the idea to make silly o'clock a regular Sunday thing 😊
Great work Chris and Aubrey on getting in those very early morning long runs. Great edit, as always, Chris!
Thanks Andy. Never thought I'd enjoy early morning long runs but running in a group like this makes it fun and worth setting the alarm.
always love your videos Chris... Having Aubrey made it even more special...
Thanks Philip 👍 😊 It's handy that we both live close to each other and get to run together.
Love the videos as always! Would have said hello at the show but about 1000 people in the way! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Philip 👍😊
It certainly was hard to spot everyone at the show this year.
Love seeing some local routes to me Chris.. bizzarly I run past Earlswood Lakes lots on my long run but never round.. It'll be good for adding some distance when my routes are running up short! You boys are brave on the Woodhatch to Horley A217 stretch.. not sure I'd fancy dicing with the traffic on that one!
Thanks Neil. Definitely worth a run around Earlswood Lakes and if to fancy a bit of off road running, Earlswood Common is worth exploring.
We were being very careful in the road. At that time, there wasn't much traffic and the road was straight. We could hear the cars coming before we saw them, so quite easy to get back on the pavement. Great sunrise during that part of the run.
Always look forward to these videos coming out, helps give me motivation to get out and run in training for London 💪🏻great video again Chris! Well done on the 10K 🥳
Thanks Gary 👍 😊
Everyone needs a bit of motivation to get out for those runs. I'm just glad these videos can help. Good luck with your London training.
@ thanks Chris 😁👍🏻
Well, Chris, thank goodness you didn't have "smell-vision" in this video - I can do without that smell! LOL. I enjoyed your video. I'm about to go out for my own run now - training for a ten-mile race in Washington D.C. and a half-marathon in Brooklyn. Keep motivating me with your videos - the responsibility to get me to run is all on you !!!!!
Thanks Cathy 👍 😊
That is alot of responsibility on my shoulders 😆 but I will do my best.
Believe me, the smell that day was the worse I've experienced!
Hope your training is going well.
@ LOL. You should tell me to shut up and be responsible for my own training, or lack of training and not put it all on you!! 😃
@ Thanks for your good wishes about my training. In case you ever come to NYC and end up meeting me, I must warn you that I am old and slow - so I won't be amazing you with "burning up the roads" - but I enjoy still being running-active after just turning 75. I am blessed to feel so healthy.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one Chris!
Let's Goooo 👌👍
It’s nice seeing someone do long runs the speed I do them! Most people seem to go faster, even though they run races about my race pace. Thank you!
@conradburdekin722 I generally try and do long runs in HR zone 2. For these group long runs we are following Aubrey's marathon training plan and fortunately for me the pace is in my zone 2. We increased pace towards the end to finish strong.
@ yes that’s my zone 2 pace as well. It seems not many other people I know are prepared to run that ‘slow’
@conradburdekin722 I used to struggle a bit to run at slower pace, until a trained for an ultra back in 2021. That taught me the need to go slower, to get faster/longer.
@ yes I do ultras and there’s no way I can do them fast 😂😂
When I was training for a 50 mile ultra, doing lots of slow, longer runs, it's the most fit I've been and during that training block, I ran my fastest 5k, 10k and HM times in time trials. I'd love to have the time to train like that again. Maybe when I retire 😂
Great to see you both out!
Thank you 👍😊
We are keeping each other going, especially when it's early and cold!
Well done Chris. Cheers! Phil
Thanks Phil 👍😊
