Dean, I am from Pittsburgh and have lived in Berlin for the past 34 years. I stumbled on this video quite by accident. I know Jörg from Berlin and was BLOWN AWAY to see him in this vid. He has talked for several years about the Mt. Oliver "Echt" project. Can't wait to hit Pittsburgh in July and see the church. Love the Neighborhood videos. Keep up the good work !

I grew up in Allentown/ Mt. Oliver...it has definitely changed since the time I lived there. Not for the better.

Thank you for speaking with the immigrant from Uganda, DB. I work with exactly the same folks here in NH and you really captured her shifting reality. She obviously felt comfortable enough to speak freely and be heard...that's a tall order.

I watch your Neighbourhoods of Pittsburgh videos from Melbourne, Australia. I don't know what rabbit hole I fell down to find them, but I am pleased I did.

If your not looking for trouble your not going to find it? I knew a guy who was murdered in the alley 50 feet behind you where you made that statement. Just throwing that out there...

“If you’re not lookin for trouble you’re not gonna find it” perfectly sums up Mount Oliver. Hands down one of my favorite neighborhoods I’ve lived with. Never had kinder neighbors.

Better neighborhood begins with you. Start small. Help a neighbor, clean a park, feed the homeless. Be a moral leader.

I just got a job offer in Pittsburgh. I’m from Michigan and have never lived in a city of this size. I was nervous about taking it. Still am.

Good video! I've lived in Mt. Oliver my entire life... I wish I was in it! I think Mt Oliver is trying very hard to improve right now. They've had nice events going on on brownsville rd.

As a lifetime resident of the Pittsburgh area, I appreciate the time you take to truly look into the people and businesses that are trying to make this city a better place, I loved every episode so far and you have yet to disappoint me, keep up the great work Dean

Do a Carrick one, if you already did I can't find it. Good job on the videos brotha. There's a lot of history in Carrick, there is a very small grave yard in the middle of Carrick at the top of Copperfield St. Where the 2nd mayor of the city is buried. And all the tombstones are ancient. Check it out.

My Grandparents had a shop on Brownsville Road from that late 1930's to through the 70's. While it is sad to see how depressed the neighborhood is, it was nice to see folks tat are trying to bring business and reclaiming abandoned properties to make living spaces.
