Big stepper with belt transmistion. It all depends on what will be produced on the machine. For difficult details, I recommend buying a ready-made machine.

Fortunately, all my projects (wire bending) with raw material for scrap did cost around one mid-range machine and now I'm proud owner of 4 with knowledge what is priceless.
I might sell but price need to be a lot higher than machine it self, and project need to be reworked with knowledge that I've got after few tons of wire used.

Your problem might be wire straightening or poor material quality or miss alignment of straightening unit with feeder or bending unit or to much force on feeding rolls ... etc. This is life with wire. Some experienced person told me that wire has it's own physics and I agree with him :) I suppose You are over straightening wire. Wire is straight but it is twisting.
I am wondering if you thought about using pneumatics for the cutting/shearing? And what drawbacks it would have if used in place of stepper/servo to drive the slide.

Force need to cut 6mm 800 MPa wire in my calculations is 13,5 kN. So if Your arm is 6mm You need something around 47,5Nm. Some gearbox and You could cut 6mm with small 3D printer motor :)

I can bend and feed now. However, stuck on cutting. For cutting i am using a 1kw motor with 15:1 reduction gearbox. It can cut upto 2mm but i need to cut 6mm. Tried increasing the motor acceleration but it stalls when it reaches the cut. Need help.
With that amount of force You should be able to cut 6mm. Are You using servo or normal electric motor? What is length of force arm. If You can cut up to 2mm You are surly using to long arm to move cutting element. With that motor You can have up to 7mm of move (max down pos to up pos move). From my calculation You have something around 30mm. If it is 30mm You need to have ~3kW motor with gear 1:25.
@@maciejmajewski4312 I am using a closed loop stepper motor. Length of the motor shaft is 50mm. Have fixed a triangular cam on the shaft (positive action cam) which drives the slide forward and reverse , total travel distance is 25mm.

Maciej Majewski Witam. Interesuje mnie maszyna, która wygina drut 3mm, wystarczy 2d (płaskie formy) jednak formy jakie chciałbym produkować mają wymiar do 100x100cm. Szybkość nie jest ważna, wręcz przeciwnie. Że względu na duże formy człowiek musi pomagać maszynie aby ta nie powiela już wytworzone formy lub musiałby być jakiś dodatkowy stół który obracalby taka formę.

Wykonywanie elementów większych wymaga jedynie zmiany orientacji płaszczyzny gięcia oraz odsunięcia podajnika drutu o potrzebną odległość. A steap learning curve of about 2 years with a impressive result, really nice piece of equipment you developped there !

Trying to figure out how much torque I would need to feed 6mm wire. I already have a straightener, but its too bulky, so might add that latter.
There are too many variables affecting the moment needed for the wire feeder. Your need to experiment:)

The wire turns on it's axis when feeding with just 2 rollers. Is that the reason 4 roller feeding needs to be used?
Without 4 rollers wire could slip. Feeders in welding machines are mostly equipped with 4 rollers.

I've done pneumatic cutting in my first machine. Electric system is way faster than air driven.

@@maciejmajewski4312 Yes, that's correct, but the speed will be very low and the stepper will heat up very fast.
