Do you prefer the planners opposed to deep diving trolling lures..???
I’ve used planners for Kings but got tired of having them trip on occasion and having to re-set them. With pulling them in a bit and letting loose.
My daughter and I got hooked on your show finding it about a week ago. We have 3 years of your bids to catch up..

@@tarponspringsfishingclub I personally have more success with the planer / spoon setup but it's easier to pull a diving lure. I found braided main line helps a lot to prevent the planer tripping. I did used to slay kings on the Rapala Husky Magnum 15 Purple Mackerel.

FRESH Spanish mackerel is one of the most underrated tasting fish out there. Any time I hook into one it's a big decision on whether it's dinner or swimming away.

I casted with a T-tail lure (freshwater) today, in this spot at my pond where there was a leafless tree, other trees and a bush and at that specific spot it was a very good spot, I got a lot of bites there, I didn’t land any fish, no hooked any, but I got some bites,
I've told you before......you're in gear too long while the fish is hooked, you have to stop sooner and reel,reel,reel. You battle the boat current more than the fish when in gear. Also puts more pressure on a hookset, especially using lighter leader.
To each their own. I keep boat in gear and rarely have issues of pulling hooks. That immediate stop without someone manning the rod loses more fish. But everyone is different. That's what makes us human. I'll do it my way, you do it yours :)

Nope, you just need a Recreational Boating license endorsement on your drivers license from the DMV. You need a Captains license if you intend to charter or run a business in which you receive money for a service.

That barracuda was something else that was a big fish it went at.. Thanks for wearing a vest when trolling I didn't see it till later in the fishing and you know what happens when you fall in the water trolling and I say so from experience I wasn't even trolling I was anchored and in the water, boat lost its anchor and when I noticed I went after it in fairly rough water which was only going to get worse. Too long of a story to tell but to me I see it as a miracle that I made it that day it was a long time ago
