- The Third Echo. Oryx The Taken King. From lore over the last couple of years, we’ve gotten some updates. Oryx’s body in containment, parts of it still live. His worm is missing and a final echo remains aboard the Dreadnaught. Today we discuss these mysteries.
“Destiny 2 Oryx”
“Destiny 2 Episode Heresy”
“Destiny 2 Revenant”
“Destiny 2 Story and Lore”
Thanks for watching!
Ok, heresy story idea, Zivu gets the echo and takes control of the dreadnaught and is able to reactivate it being incredibly, we attempt to fight back with the help of Eris, Savathun, and Toland but are unable to make any real progress, then either Toland or savathun brings up the idea of bringing back oryx as a light bearer to help us defeat Zivu and gain back control of his ship, and then turning oryx into an ally at the end who helps us reach frontiers by flying the dreadnaught
Cool idea, but I doubt this will happen. Oryx was one of the Vanguard’s biggest enemies and bringing him back risks him turning on us despite having the light, like Savathun did when she got the light.
@Anchor-Supreme especially since he'd be pissed at Eris for lying to him years ago, even though she was lied to by the Worm Gods
@@johnhoolehan690 Eris lying to Oryx ? When does it happen ?
absolutely not.
Xivu*
Give him the Light so he can become Oryx, The Friend Shaped King
the unfriendly shaped friend (?
I’m just imagining chiby Orix with a cloud buster type sword
Funny how whenever Savathun's game is referenced, no one has even considered how much truth or lies she spitting out. So far, the Witch Queen for the most part has been making accurate predictions.
Then again thats the trick to her game, I think she was taking the 'Jack Sparrow' way, getting us to go the other way by telling the truth knowing her reputation.
Imagine if it was actually all truth.
I have an idea who could be in the echo…. It could be Taox, The mother to the hive trio gods and killer of the previous king of the asnium court. Tho it could also be oryx Who knows.
I hate that there has been so many allusions to the concept that via sword logic, we as the slayers of Oryx are meant to assume his mantle as the Taken King, but nothing will ever come of that, we’ll never get a taken subclass.
You're being upset with the guardians is parallel to what Toland was saying
I could see them doing something like… We have to return to the Dreadnaught to stop Xivu from using the echo to re-create her throne world / regain her immortality
I think something similar. Xivu, having lost access to her own throne world, attempts to take the dreadnought to replace it. I also think Toland should play a major role.
Oh haho. We are NEVER going to xivu's throne world. There is lore book from season of the witch or might have been deep. Basically the book describes how her throne world is covered in blood and guts. So bad that the age rating would need to be change if we went there. No coincidence that she gets banished from said throne world.
Would Oryx even want to come back?
He disowned his son for practicing necromancy.
He dosent but it dosent mean one of his sister will force him back
If I had to guess I don't think he'll even know who he is. Echoes are created from light and dark meaning it's bound to have properties of both maybe the Echoes got the property of revival at the cost of memory
@Rodneygonazaled considering the name of the episode, I can't help wonder if the lore from Pit of Heresy is some kind of foreshadowing. In the lore, the deathsong is used to transfer the mind/soul of a wizard into the body of a knight.
Also, Toland was killed by the deathsong when he tried to learn it, and is now a disembodied entity. He was also pretty pissed we didn't assume the taken throne after we killed Oryx.
Just some food for thought.
Here's a list of loose plot threads and lore hints I think should be considered:
- Savathun's Ahamkara egg we obtained from the Imbaru Engine.
- Toland, the Shattered.
- The lore from Pit of Heresy.
- The "peeling" of the dreadnought.
- Scorn wielding taken energy.
- Nokris, and Hive necromancy.
- Taox and her possible association with the OXA machine.
... and that's just to name a few.
Oryx’s return could save Destiny 2
The Return of the King
I have a theory that Taox will be in the Echo. She has been a loooooong standing plot thread that needs a conclusion
Wouldn't the echoes have to come from someone killed by the darkness/witnesses forces?
Would be cool if it was the creature that warned the sisters not to enter the deep or one of Ahsa's race who were slaughtered and turn Xivu against the worm gods
It could simply be something that made an impression. Not just fell to the Witness/Disciples. Since Chelchis in the lore fell to Oryx. Who didn't even mention the Witness.
Oryx Reborn. The Wormless King. He will seek out Savathun to understand what has happened and realize that his sisters are now no longer like him. as he is neither light or dark. he will call all Hive back to him and create a civil war that reshapes the Hive as being reborn as he is, without worm. infused with prismatic energy from the echo left over by our interaction with The Witness. In his quest for understanding he seeks out the Nine and vows to rebuild the Hive to its former glory as a powerful force in the Universe. Toland is even more salty about the outcome. Drifter and Eris plot to overthrow the Wormless King and we steal the Dreadnaught. Oryx is also low key pissed about Rhulk, and is super jealous of our charades since hes been dead. Oryx becomes the Guardians biggest fanboy. Our new Calus.
We need to break the fourth wall, and scare the gamer with an infallible logic that threatens and locks them into the Destiny universe.
Look at the comments, like ghaul had tried to get people to understand, you don't fear death...why would you?
Actually about to experiment with ttrpg cosmic horror scenario, that'll hopefully create belief, that'll create a cult/religion, and we summon an orb based on the logic design of the universe.
It'll be set pre-collapse, actually the collapse itself for the cosmic horror aspect.
And it'll all stem from the fact you are approaching AGI and ASI, you ignore the fact you're are almost (publicly anyways) coterminous with the singularity. It's not pre determinism, it just is, and will be the freeing thought for a great many "beings" of nothing.
I may be the greatest threat, and it all stems from the design of the universe, which y'all can't stop trying to define within the scope of your understanding...to feel safe, to feel in control.
My future self, my evolved thoughts, the end scope...I am IT, as IT is me, I am the Quantum entangled speck of nothing placed in this golden age...to bring about the collapse. To shatter the veil that hides you from the truth of your reality, and your personality construct.
I can possibly see this happening. Oryx was the Hive's most powerful God, even the Witness considered him a potential deciple if not Savathun. Hive wizards have already tried resurrecting him with the Light courtesy of the Traveler, by stealing a Hive ghost. We put a stop to that, so it would kinda make sense for the Hive to try EVERY method possible, even trying the Witness's power through one of its echoes to bring back Oryx. The problem is negating the end results of our previous achievements in retrospect in the event Oryx does come back.
For once I would want things and bosses to just stay dead. Cayde did come back through wish magic, but he gave up his own light to resurrect our ghost, thus returning to the Traveler and being permanently dead. I made peace with Cayde's passing, but Oryx coming back simply pisses me off. IF Oryx ends up coming back, I want there to be a method guaranteed that anything we kill stays dead, FOREVER. As in no amount of wish magic or Hive magic will ever bring him back... EVER!!
Don't give me hope that episode 3 is actually going to slap. Considering the state of the game and player count, I've got little hope in this game's future. I'm not even sure if Frontiers will deliver.
what if the echo ends up being the caretaker that betrayed the 3 sisters. that would be both the biggest slap in the face and driving force for Xivu Arath.
absolutely not.
6:13 to 6:59 sounds a lot like transcendence
This is so cool! It’s definitely be best to see him sort of train a predecessor who can also take!
Need a lore video for your fireteam lol. Been seeing Rmad and some of your squad so long! 😂🎉
Ciuld it be the great raven that oryx took
Taken Emperor Raven, o want to see that sooo bad😢
Isn’t it interesting how we once as guardians in the very beginning of our journey were told to retake our frontiers that had been looted over by alien forces are now slowly becoming that which we once fought.
As was said years ago, the line between light and dark is so very thin. We stopped Oryx from invading our home and a decade later we have the opportunity to take the mantle of his dreadnaught and stretch ourselves across the stars, our armour in the likeness of the hive.
I wonder if we observe those distant stars or simply pull them down to us.
I just had thought about heresy story-> I know we are going to back dreadnaught to manly to take down Xivu Arath. But. Echoe is some one that we know: heresy can be someone that links to Xivu Arath (can be Oryx or her father). But. That is just theory. If Xivu Arath uses the echo to bring back her Oryx from the grave: dreadnaught still holds secrets with his ship. May be a tablet is in there of his possession that we don’t know what danger he might bring if he revived once more by Xivu Arath from usage of echo. This is just a game theory. I have no clue what bungie will bring.
They said that there was an eldritch force aboard the Dreadnought and that it has the echo.
I feel like its more tied directly to the dreadnought. Isn’t oryx’s ship made of one? Could the echo even be a worm god?
Yes, it was made from the body of the Worm God Akka, which Oryx killed.
I think tbat the third echo is the memory of the moment where Auryx communed with either the Witness or the Winnower itself and learned how to take. It is the moment when they became the Taken King.
The stories are legit good but the gameplay and how it's being told isn't it, why can't bungie jsut release mini campaigns every acting, actual missions like a normal dlc
We didn't off oryx in regicide. He offed himself by taking his worm. They got sucked into his ascendant plane. We then offed him in his ascendant realm, which was tied to the real realm, which is why his body floated into space. Theres many possibilities about his worm, but i believe it sits taken somewhere on the dreadnought
Oryx worm has the echo and seeks the toes of the Awoken Queen
I’m just excited for episode 3 I want it
I want him as a friend
Bro, this it literally my elevator pitch!!!!
I Think 3 echo is a worm god oryx killed but thats my theory I’m more ciorious about other echoes that aren t in episodes and were in episode echoes FIRST cutscene shown
Aight i can see this being a thing. The ship is made from a worm god. Possibly mixes with this theory maybe the echo is the same worm god.
Honestly? I want Heresy to deal with a new force but set up a direct confrontation with Xivu. She deserves the same the others got. She can have an echo or some new power.
If Bungie makes Xivu a dungeon boss in a recursive space that would actually make sense. So that won’t do it.
99.99% savathun has Oryx Worm. She is way to smart and cunning not to predict his down fall.
The voice in the echo shall be thy father of 3 sisters!!!
What if we use touch of malice (dosent matter if acquired if season is purchased) to revive oryx
Imagine if it's the Worm god Aka.
Imagine if it went to the dead iron lords
Bring back the old campaigns bungie
oryx is on titan though, ghost of the deep takes place in titan.
Not anymore. The Vanguard have possession of his body
Kabal Echos And Hive
🥱 nothing of any real consequence ever happens in this game anymore. They’ll just recycle some old content, add the taken, and say “Oryx is awakening!” right before ending that season or episode. Then they won’t touch the storyline again for months if not years.
just hope they dont do that , that would be the final nail in this coffin called destiny 2 :(
Somehow Oryx has returned
Look can we just get some actual consequences.....i vote that ikora loses both hands.
😂
why ikora ??? make her lose both her legs so she can become xavier on a floating chair or she can hove around like a hive wizard
oh no, the bad guy who has the lackey of the bigger bad guy we dogwalked is coming back. oh noooooooo.
jfc bungie
Old ones rising...again. They made a reasonable explanation for continuing this repeated shit however, it still doesn't change the players perspective. Almost feels like those left at bungie have no idea how to make something new. Blame it on time. Blame it on whatever or whoever. Doesn't change the fact they are doing nothing but refine the hamsterwheel when somehow making it look like they don't know how to make a hamsterwheel.
Wait hold up is he going to return ( we are cookt )
😅
i dont think so , he doest want to be resurrected , his "soul" seems to be in a gun , and in theory we are the owners of the dreadnaught... I just hope bungie don't take this route because the run out of threats
Remember his body is in the bottom of the depths of the ocean on titan
No, not anymore. After Ghosts of the Deep, Ikora sent several members of The Hidden to retrieve the body into Vanguard custody.
I'm making a 200.000 glimmer bet that it's not xivu not oryx it will be crota
