Drive. This was bar non one of THE best racing vids I have ever seen. No music, no voiceover's just pure, straight up RACING. Congratulations to you guys for making me a true fan, and a diehard lover of what you do.
I love videos like this. Just pure race footage. pure race sounds. Next time, can we get a race-length video of these? i love just sitting back and watching and listening. Its very soothing.
This is a fantastic example for showing those who have not been around motorsports live just how fast these cars fly around corners. It's just mind-blowing.
Fantastic Video and Coverage. It was a pleasure meeting you by the Aviation Gin Pit and Team area. You are a stand up guy and I appreciate you taking time to chat. Keep up the good work!
I really like this as a concept, it's so nice to just be able to enjoy the overall atmosphere of a race day with a video like this. Thank you SO much for doing it :-D
Nice video! My buddy and I caught a flight down and we were there Friday and Saturday. 2012 was my 4th year attending the Petit Le Mans. Of course I'll be there this year too.
Awesome footage! And J.F. it was a pleasure to meet you there! I was the dude who came up to you on the open grid walk before the race and towards the end in front of the Viper trailer.
Leo I liked this very well shot...I did not know a race day was that busy...got a question around 7:55 to 8:00 they keep zig zagging why? Is it to warm up the tires?
a great track and a killer list of the best manufacturers competing, a must see if your lucky enough 2 have track nearby, i believe there are 10 alms venues in the states, petit le mans october the 19.
ALMS, Road Atlanta, Trackside video = just awesome. I love your videos guys. Thanks, this is pure motorsport ! But I'm not a big fan of the slowmo part.
@Spearfisher1970 wow, i completely missed that. (i was even at the race and missed it then) i would assume they do own ultimat vodka, and just changed up the livery on the car for it. The flying bug on the side of the cars is part of the patron livery, which is originally black and green.
What sucks about the Viper chassis? What are some pros & cons of each car(Porsche,Corvette,Ferrari, etc)?Would love to know as i am really starting to get into this form of racing as it has actual cars you can buy even though they all heavily modified.Way better than Nascar as there are actual turns in this form of racing. Thanks in advance!
The shots are too long to not get bored of it. But it matches the concept, that you wanted to show the atmosphere of the race. It's just too long for my taste :-) But the pictures are excellent, gave me a lot of inspiration how to use a DSLR on a racetrack (i have only used video cameras before, i'm a rookie at the DSLR business)
That was GREAT!!...I felt like I was there...just need SMELL-O-VISION , for the exhaust fumes;rubber and fuel smell..and last but not least.....a mild sunburn!!
It doesn't do much on a car that weighs less than half of the GT cars in the ALMS. It makes a greater difference with a lower contact patch/weight ratio configuration as prototype and sports cars have.
Drive. This was bar non one of THE best racing vids I have ever seen. No music, no voiceover's just pure, straight up RACING. Congratulations to you guys for making me a true fan, and a diehard lover of what you do.
Please keep these Trackside videos coming. No commentary; No music; PURE genius. Just plain beautiful.
Thank you Drive...
I was there, but this video gives an even better overview. No bs commentary, no ads, just full awesome.
this is amazing, behind the scenes, no commentary, nothing but sweet ass cars and racing!
Beautiful. I've been a race fan since the early 1960s, and I haven't seen or heard better. Thank you.
Loved it guys! The begining had the feel of the original Le Mans movie with Steve McQueen. I could watch camera work like that for hours.
Great job, Leo and team! It was great to meet you on the outside backstrech Saturday! Thanks for putting up with us.
Fantastic video! Once of the few that actually capture the "live" feeling of speed.
I love videos like this. Just pure race footage. pure race sounds. Next time, can we get a race-length video of these? i love just sitting back and watching and listening. Its very soothing.
i love how you guys manage to capture experience in these videos, i always feel the journey through the weekend in them
One of the best race tracks!
This is TRACKSIDE. No presenter. Just racing!
This is a fantastic example for showing those who have not been around motorsports live just how fast these cars fly around corners. It's just mind-blowing.
I don't always watch trackside, but I always listen to it.
Fantastic Video and Coverage. It was a pleasure meeting you by the Aviation Gin Pit and Team area. You are a stand up guy and I appreciate you taking time to chat. Keep up the good work!

Nice video! My buddy and I caught a flight down and we were there Friday and Saturday. 2012 was my 4th year attending the Petit Le Mans. Of course I'll be there this year too.
Amazing. Well done. Captures the spirit and feeling so well. Thank you.
I miss the Trackside series, don't scrap it, Drive! :D
This is beautiful, in a 2001 a space odessey kind of way. Well done, /DRIVE
Awesome footage! And J.F. it was a pleasure to meet you there! I was the dude who came up to you on the open grid walk before the race and towards the end in front of the Viper trailer.
A trackside video of the Bathurst 12 Hour would be fantastic!
That's exactly the point of the trackside videos. To give you a feel of the ambiance of being trackside at a race.
great coverage guys.....camera angles are awesome
Very nice, it's ike video photo journalism. No presenter, no naration to inject their own views. Just great videography.
Love the opening shot of the SRT Viper!
Yep. While the track is under yellow, the field slows down a bit behind the safety car. They swerve like that to keep heat in the tires.
Absolutely amazing footage.
11:11 this is sick as hell! you actually get a sense of how fast they're moving
Great shots and pure racing sound.
Love the Lola prototypes!!!! Reminds me of the Group C days!
Really glad to see em new Vipers in action, I'm impressed
Well done drive, I was there and you guys captured it really well
11:37 reminds me of the DRIVE intro
GREAT stuff Leo!
I can always here this race each year louder than any other.
I live about 10ish miles from the track too haha. I love it though!
Excellent academy performance Leo!! 2:25
Great coverage!
Watching the deltawing make its way up that hill from the other direction was very cool.
This is the soundtrack that plays in my mind when I fall asleep.
Thank you.I didn't know that.Heard they had problems, specifically the chassis.
thanks for that --- turns at 11minutes == great framing.
Truly awesome video.
awesome filming !
amazing camera work
Really good camera work.
man I wish I could have gone. Road Atlanta is one of my fav tracks. AND I could have run into you guys. How cool would that have been?!
Great video, stylish, intelligent and beautiful.
beautiful. this is great!
Nice camera work boys!
Masterpiece
Leo I liked this very well shot...I did not know a race day was that busy...got a question around 7:55 to 8:00 they keep zig zagging why? Is it to warm up the tires?

Great video.
14 people don't like racing, but watch the videos anyway.
this is great filming and producing done here, if this video dont leave you wanting more then iono
11.17, what a set of corners!
What's wrong with the editing?
Brilliant, well done...
I wish I had an LMP trolley to cart me and my buddies around. We'd be the coolest guys in town.
I was listening to the commentary during the race and it was mentioned that this helps slings rubber marbles off the tires. Is this true as well?
Very ala Steve Mc Queen.. Loved it.
I wish broadcast footage had shots that captured the speed like this.
ALMS, Road Atlanta, Trackside video = just awesome. I love your videos guys. Thanks, this is pure motorsport !
But I'm not a big fan of the slowmo part.

This is a series. We have a whole playlist full of these. Thank you and enjoy! :-)
yes! the Viper is racing!
Are there hydraulic jacks built into the cars for use during tire changes?
Well done!
The editing for trackside must be a nightmare! How many hours of footage do you guys shoot for one of these episodes?
Please make these again
Thanks to whoever found my keys and turned them in that day. Other than that it was the greatest race I've ever been to.
They showed you guys filming on ESPN 3
The Ferrari 458 Italia is beautiful :3
Lol, are those jack up stands embedded IN the cars?!
who ever didn't put music to this is a fucking G
omg .. my ears ..they are so satisfied
That's a cool shot at 22:13.
Would be awesome to get Australian V8 Super Cars at this circuit
Nice to see the Deltawing..
needs more close up + super slow mo. I wanna see the tires and suspension working!
What ever happened with the Nissan Delta wing?
not holding my breathe but it will be great to see Lotus Evora GTE get up to speed. when ever you are ready lol.
The shots are too long to not get bored of it. But it matches the concept, that you wanted to show the atmosphere of the race. It's just too long for my taste :-)

Why TV broadcasters don't use camera angles like these I will NEVER understand.
well shot but not well edited video... man the pictures are awesome, gave lot of idea how to shot a race at my local track, Hungaroring
That was GREAT!!...I felt like I was there...just need SMELL-O-VISION , for the exhaust fumes;rubber and fuel smell..and last but not least.....a mild sunburn!!
its just different...so very different...thats why all these different series exist. But thanks for the opinion.
Amazing
i met Leo at petit and all jokes aside he is a pretty cool dude
Wich cam are you using
Those would be the Lola B12/60 Mazdas as fielded by Dyson Racing.
PERFECT
The only thing for me that is missing from this video is the smell. Otherwise perfect.
That's awesome
Delta Wing doesn't make an appearance till 16:50 :(
17:50 Orange MP4-12C in the top left corner in the background!!
It doesn't do much on a car that weighs less than half of the GT cars in the ALMS. It makes a greater difference with a lower contact patch/weight ratio configuration as prototype and sports cars have.
At 2:01 it seems to say Vodka, so that's what I called it as. So Patron owns Ultimat?
Brilliant
