This anime is such a piece of art. I see myself in Ichikawa as I used to be like him during my first romance, back when I was 16 through 19. These characters are masterfully written, to the point where they feel characterized as real people who are a bit quirky but quite deep.

Let's be honest, the narrative and character development in this work is legendary, no matter how much other romance works try to replicate it, it is very difficult, for that reason it is my favorite ROMCOM and I consider it a masterpiece of the genre, I am a lover of the romantic genre but i never expect to see something so perfect.
It's not difficult, just stop using the same gag or using tropes like tsundere-kudere, make an alive characters who are like people, not tropes. It's NOT difficult at all! And let poor characters develop, stop circling around one idea like "oh, she is a tsundere, she can't say anything nice to MC until 100 chapters" - that's what makes romances bad! Give a character the right to do things that can actually progress relationships! It's so simple, it's not even funny! There's so many ways you can progress the story yet authors just going circles with stories like Kaguya sama or Takagi san... That's so stupid. I don't understand why they feel the need to do that. If authors were allowed to give a proper development instead of repeating one joke over and over, Dangers in my heart would be just a normal romance like everything else 😢
@@olyabutorina6869 You're right, romance is my second favorite genre and the works coming out lately feel empty, I don't enjoy current romance at all because they are absurd, full of unnecessary fanservice and silly stereotypes that drag out the story and their relationship feels forced, too slow or too fast, that's why works like Oregairu that delve more into social relationships were in my TOP, even though I consider it more of a mature teen drama than a romance in general, for me it's hard to see it as romance. And this work is everything you say, it breaks with that way of doing stories by focusing more than anything on its main characters and their development as a couple, honestly it was quite a surprise for me to see how this work was being judged, its beginning seemed strange to me but not bad, it was interesting to my point of view but I never thought it would become my favorite romance and evolve to such a magnitude, I take it back, it's not that it's hard to replicate, it's just that it's very well written and its main characters and relationship feels REAL, that's why it works so well. Kaguya sama is an amazing work and deserves all the success it gets, however I can't see it as a romance in general. It's more of a comedy and ya, sometimes it focuses too much on other characters neglecting the main cast and that's a SERIOUS problem, it's like saying Konosuba is the best ISEKAI when clearly it's more is comedy I know very well that ROMCOM is “Romantic Comedy”, but it really bothers me that a genre with so much potential becomes a poorly done parody by neglecting the romance and its development in the first place. I know there are works that focus more on romance than comedy and I think that's great, but they follow the same cliché patterns of their competition and it makes their relationship unrealistic and forced, this of course conveys nothing to the viewer because the basis of their relationship doesn't exist in the first place by following silly stereotypes. The only generic thing that Dangers In My Heart shares is its premise of lonely boy and popular girl/model, only in this case it takes it to its peak in an excellent, organic and realistic way. I hope that thanks to this work the authors will reflect and change a genre that was destined to be one of the most beloved but is currently the laughingstock of the industry.
bro the overall editing and the music fade at the end are both actually so good and i was like how the fuck this guy so good at this and then i looked at ur older videos and was like damn he came a long way - very good, u deserve more subs
Thanks so much! I actually have even more videos (probably about 250 or so) that I've made, but many of them have been privated because their quality wasn't up to snuff, though I keep around the ones I made during my first year so people can track progress exactly as you did! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that lol After three years I'm finally feeling like I'm gaining real traction in terms of views in subs, so I'm hoping this year keeps going well for me and I can make an even better video for S3! (Also, despite typically disregarding older vids in terms of quality because I feel like I grow every month and become better each time, this video is still one of my favorites to date even though it didn't get much traction, so I'm really happy you enjoyed it!)
Is it wrong that I think The Dangers in my Heart gives freaking KAGUYA-SAMA a run for its money? While it may not be as funny, what it may lack in comedy (at least in comparison, this is still a funny series) it MORE than makes up for it in character development.
I think it’s better overall than Kaguya. While Kaguya has more jokes by volume, meaning more are bound to hit Danger Heart has less and never misses a single one, and that’s in addition to having better characters and a relationship. Both are great, but while Kaguya is just a good show to me, Danger Heart is in my top 3 of all time.
I never watched Kaguya sama because the idea of two characters in love who don't want to confess is so stupid and you know they won't be in relationships any time soon. Also I don't think that a person who is really in love will run away from confession so hard. No matter what your personality is like, a true love gives you bravery and wings to confess and the only thought in your mind will be "I want to be with this person as his/her beloved one". So basically characters in Kaguya not even in love that much lol. How can I root for them? 😭
Dangers in my heart is now the standard and reference for me when writing snd thinking of romances. Overcoming personal flaws, growing as people, and spending quality time, its what makes this romcom the best I've seen thus far, and likely one of the best for a long time.
Recently I’ve been using music from one specific game, so hopefully that never gets copyrighted lol. I’ve always thought the music was integral to the experience tho so I always spend a decent amount of time getting the right tracks.
Not really. It remains consistent with the rest of the show and sets up for development whilst informing you that he's a silly kid with no friends who doesn't want to admit he likes the popular girl, because he's convinced himself that he's ~different~ from the rest of the riff-raff and that's why he has no friends, not because he's not trying out of fear of getting hurt again. Murder in particular is only a focus for him because the last thing he did that he was proud of was write a book on the psychology of murder and win an award for it.
