First of all, this man is SO fine there really aren't adequate words for it, it's insane. Secondly, his performance in this show? ALLLLLL THE AWARDS RIGHT NOW!!
Ugh!!! the editing is so good, literally I had goosebumps!! The music, the scenes, the audio that u chose, the coloring, the editing... Literally a PERFECTION⭐
Joel did not do the right thing. But that’s okay. He was just trying to protect what he loves. And he did even with the risk of actually losing Ellie later on when she finds out. But see.. Joel’s not a hero, he’s a father who’s lost people in his life over and over again. So he made a choice… he chose Ellie over the world. And I understand that on a level that hurts me to my core. P.S This is one of the most breathtaking series I’ve seen in my life. The producers, actors and everyone who worked on it should be beyond proud. I loved the game before I loved the series but now I don’t think I can watch anything else. It breaks your hear just to mend it a little bit and then shatters it all at once.
I respectfully disagree, just like in the game Joel absolutely did the right thing in saving Ellie. Marlene and co. were going to murder a teenage girl, without her consent, and without the guarantee they'd even be able to produce a cure anyways. Marlene specifically says, "he thinks it could be a cure" they aren't certain and it's mostly, if not all, just wishful thinking. Now I don't know about you, but I think anyone about to take someone's life against their will with the justification "I have no other choice" needs to seriously re-evaluate their morals. Joel's actions, while brutal, were in defense of Ellie. If anything, Ellie still has the same opportunity to help be the "cure" if she really wants. Joel's actions, his "choice" did not take away her agency, the Fireflies' actions would have. They weren't going to give her a choice. Joel, even if inadvertently, gave that choice back to her when he made his. Also, even if the cure was guaranteed the ends still doesn't justify the means.
@@noahfence8054 I can’t agree with you more. I guess I was thinking more along the lines that they were certain that it will work. Which now that you mention it, they were not. And even in that scenario they were not telling her that she would be losing her life in order to help create a cure. Marlene said she did not tell her so as to not cause her any discomfort and panic so that puts Ellie in a position where she makes a choice not knowing what awaits her. While I do think she still would have chosen to go with it, even if she knew that she would die, I am thankful for the different perspective that you’ve brought forward since it made me think on it more and realize that there’s a lot more to Joel’s and Ellie’s choices than I could understand at the time. I wrote the comment right after watching the episode and it was the emotion talking rather than rationality. Hope you have a great day! 😌
I love the Joel and Ellie dynamic despite his fear he loves Ellie and will do anything to protect her

So powerful emotional trailer music..
Too much spoilers, can't share it with someone who hasn't seen the show in order to convince them to watch it. But it's a good edit still.
