I have 2 of these machines because they get hot and I mean really hot . I added 4 more 18650s to it and leave the case open to help with cooling then I swap between the hot and cold machine to build a battery
Great vid - thanks. Quick one - in your video you mention that we can buy new tips (1.5mm-ish to 2mm dia. copper rod..) if needed and that it can be bough online... My questions: 1) Where would one look for these extra tips online - what search terms - is it general copper rods or specific for this model spot welder? 2) How does one know when it is time to change the tips? what to look out for? Thanks.
Any known design flaws on this model, like on some of the other ones which need to be modded? And does it have auto discharge to storage voltage after a certain time unused, and circuitry to prevent it from discharging too low?
From the video - no strain relief on the welding leads getting out the case.Twisting them would likely break the solder connection off the battery and can even short it for extra fun. The soldering quality 2:52 is atrocious too.
hey there @MINIz guy - can i ask a small favor? While upgrading my unit today there was an accidental short. Which destroyed one of the chips on the PCB. Unfortunately the damage caused the plastic package to melt off some of the chip markings. And can no longer read properly to find out what this thing is. It's the flat wide rectangular IC marked as 'U2'. Which is located on the main PCB, nearby to the corner where the LCD display is glued on. Clearly this chip needs replacement. But i'm kindda out of luck finding one unless you could please help me out! If you could please find the time to open it back up again, your device? To find out what those chip markings says? Would be so very grateful. It is pretty small and can be hard to make out without a strong light. And maybe some type of an aid to make it easier to see them. Like a magnifier or smartphone camera etc. Sometimes also wetting the chip a little bit... and rotating it. This can also help to give a better visibility on these markings. And make them stand out more.
@@MINIzguy it is really hard to say how good they are. They probably are chinese fake Infineon mosfet's. Unfortunately they can be faulty :/ Every cheap spot welder from Aliexpress usses them. How many welds/battery packs have you spot welded so far ?
@@SadBoyJanuszKiedysToBylo Only 4 packs from 3 to 6 cells so far and then the testing in my videos. So far nothing broken. I need to buy .2mm and rebuild my Milwaukee battery packs soon, but I picked up a project car and got busy.
I think it's not 5000 becasuse the circuits installed 6 mosfet, every mosfet can mannage 300A 375Watts or heat desipatation. moreover as long as it's worked! it's fine.
@@MINIzguy what was your plan if you had managed to desolder the battery? Zeee 7.4V 60C 1500mAh 2S, in 2p configuration? im thinking about attempting this

That's a time bomb. Why dont u use just a small transformer, 1 bridge rectifier, and capacitors!, 10,000uF 25v in parallel of 6 pcs would be enough for connecting batteries.
One Day we will say MOSFETs and LAUGH AND LAUGH. as soon as you see them. BIG TROUBLE BRUDAH
Hi sir i am yiur new subscriber. Thanks for the video you upload.
mi scusi,si può modificare il pedale da impulsi in automatico senza usare il pedalè?

They're just copper rod you can find online. You sand them down and if you can't sand any more, you replace

Hi.. The MOSFET used is No. 4N04R8
Can you use it while charging?
Hi , I've just bought one of these from eBay but it's not working .
The welder powers up 6.75 and then starts to power down
charge it
@@MINIzguy I charge it till green light comes on
I think the cx4500 spotwelder is much better and cost nearly the same.
Hello,
Can you tell me what kind of mosfet's this spot welder has ? I cannot see the serial numbers on the video :/
4N04R8 mosfets. Are they any good?

@@MINIzguy Ok, I understand. Oh yes, you bought very nice E46. When you gonna fit turbocharger in this 3.0 liter beast :D ?
No turbo plans, if the chassis lasts a few years I may turn it into a Spec E46 car!

hi i also buy one and i like the weldings he makes. but the batterij survived the product. it last 2 charges
I thought the battery was too weak, but mine didn't fail. I had a hard time desoldering the battery with my 140w iron so I gave up and sold it

also where did you buy yours?
Amazon
the soldering looks like a skid mark
Can u desolder the lipo? And just plug it in?
If your power supply can provide the amps, sure. But I doubt it.
Holy shit the soldering on the cells - that's bad.
