An all time favorite of mine! I used to play this on my walkman when taking off on airplaines - until they changed the rules and disallowed electronic devices at take off.
Rare that actuality compares well to the golden lens of memory. I watched this back then and it's impact now surpasses what I recall. Wonder what Bowie did next?
Saw these guys warming up the audience for Shriekback back in the mid 80s. Both bands worked it hard and were fantastic at the old Warner Theater In Washington DC. At most there were Fifty people in Attendance. Go figure?
Yes, go figure. I saw a clip of a classically trained violinist busking in New York once. She was unbelievably good yet the only ones who really noticed her and who wanted to stand and listen were children. There's a parallel there somewhere. The Comsat Angels were one of the most ground breaking bands to emerge from the post punk landscape of the early '80s. Awesome. Yet like that violinist they went generally unnoticed. But for us 'children' who stood and listened, it was an exhilarating privilege to witness.

I'm pretty sure that the self consious-looking skinny bloke walking across the studio floor as the band start is me!
This band make oasis look pathetic 😅
