    Love all your videos but these type are what's really missing on TH-cam. From a novice saddle maker and rope maker I appreciate you knowing that there's an audience for this. DALE YEAH!

    I hope you do more like this that teach alot of us how to do many things we've never been able to before!
    This is extremely helpful!
    (Although I don't want you to slow down on your regular videos! You're a cool & good man Dale!)
    Thank you for the camera man, and the gentleman who did the knot!
    Thanks to all y'all good ol boys!!

      The old joke with me (from Oklahoma) and some of the great basin buckaroos was that they dallyed because they were afraid of commitment haha. In all seriousness some of my favorite people ever come from your part of the world.

      @trevorwright7114 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s funny because I live in Texas and I always dally and I always carry 60 ft ropes. My dad prefers to tie hard and fast but I prefer dallying.

    Well Dale Yeah. I've been doing this for a little while. I think its the best way to tie on. This way is easier to get on the saddle horn and off the saddle horn.

    Really cool DB I will tie the knot because I love knots but I'm a big Northern chicken and I like to throw my dallies when crap gets too real. Who knows maybe after I tie the horn not I'll get a colt good enough to tie hard and fast with. If you don't tie hard and fast you ain't no cowboy. Thanks Dusty and Dale for the tutorial Ol'sons

    • @DaleBrisbyBullRider
      @DaleBrisbyBullRider  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Oh shoot, nothin wrong with dallying. You do you you boo-boo. But if you do decide to tie off, this is one way to do it.

    • @spurrit
      @spurrit 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You throw your dallies away when shit gets too real? You have no business on a colt. Get a broke horse that knows more than you. And ride with some folks that are willing to help you.
      Or get back on your tractor.

    Could you tell us what are the differences between dallying and then tying off versus tying on? Techniques, rope length, horse ability, horseman ability? Dusty gave a quick answer in the video. Vaqueros prefer the dally and cowpunchers prefer to tie on?

    I guess this is tradition, but I have a question. All you appear to be doing is forming a choker that will close on the saddle horn. So why wouldn't an eye splice to pass the choker be better? I know it would be simpler and I think it would be stronger.

    Hi Dale. I worked on a small 400 acre ranch as a kid. We just used a feed trough to bring the cattle in. Does this process not work well on larger ranches.

    • @dallastornado96
      @dallastornado96 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Jones there are some places that run cattle on nearly a million acres, you would need a pretty big feed trough. Large outfits have cowboy crews that go out and gather the cattle.

    • @spurrit
      @spurrit 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The feed truck only works on cattle that have been fed with a truck. And you can't drive a feed truck everywhere. On a lot of places, 400 acres would be one pasture.
