I've got a 1988 CE24 which I bought new and it's still my main guitar, and although since then I have collected every guitar I've ever wanted, the PRS CE24 is still my #1. And I don't care what kind of finish it's got, it is just sweet.

That gold one, ohh! I have always loved the tone Lee gets when he's playing. The 57/08 pickups are the best that are in PRS guitars, ive got them in both of mine.
I have the black one. Has totally become my workhorse. Single coil sounds are great and it just kills it on the hard rock. Most stable trem I’ve used as far as tuning stability; and that includes some Floyd Roses! I don’t know how they do it.
Pete is correct! The 24 fret neck is longer because the last fret on the 24 and 22 models end at the same part of the body and so the bridge on the 22’s get pushed back for the scale length.
I love it when they say things like "if you're a professional or semi professional musician this is the kind of dough you've got to spend". The reality is 99.9% of every price bracket of musical instruments are bought by noodlers, beginners, not-a-chancers, posers and collectors. They should just say "hey, while you're spending all your time surfing the internet in your basement, add these guitars to array of guitars sitting on stands behind you while you do anything but practice. They'll sure look cool"🤣
LOL most of the nerds with this kind of money don't even leave their guitars out. God forbid some dust gets on it. They're probably sitting in a case that's opened once a week at most.
The white one is breathtaking. I wish they did an SE version of this.. If this is the kind of money you save, i dont see why a custom 24 SE wouldnt go for 600 with this finish. It would be an instant purchase for me.
I have a strong feeling they are working on an SE version of the CE24'S now. It would make sense since they did the bolt on SE Silversky. But there is no chance of a nitro finish on an SE model ever. Maybe a satin finish but not nitro.
I would love to see them use Alder wood for the body again, like the late 80's and early 90's models. I have a 94 and 91 CE24. I love those guitars. Alder bodies with maple top. HFS and Vintage Bass pickups with a rotary 5 way selector knob. Perfect, for me anyway. I can do anything with my CE24'S. And they play and feel amazing. Just plays effortlessly for me.
AAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!! I love that gold top!. Nitro finish and an ebony fretboard? If only there was a Pattern Vintage profile, it would be the trifecta of perfection. The tones are incredible and the playing is just outstanding.
Pete's right -- the neck on a PRS 24 *is* longer. The extra frets don't 'push' the neck pickup closer to the bridge, they push the headstock further from the body. To maintain the same scale length, the bridge and bridge pickup are located closer to the neck pocket.

Bummer that Satin CE24s are always limited edition! 😢 The one that got away for me was a satin black Sweetwater special CE24 with flame maple top and matching headstock. Found one used at Sam Ash but couldn't justify the purchase at the time. -sigh- haha

I think they would really sell out fast and be hard to get at first. If they are as nice as all the other SE models that have been released lately, I would love to see how they come out of the Indonesian factory. That factory is killing it now. At first glance, lee's CU24 looks like it has 85/15s in it. 85/15 and 57/08 are my favorite PRS pickups; the 85/15 are loaded in my core CU24 and my CE24
PRS's often just seem _too_ good, _too_ perfect, but these ones sound spectacular. The only thing I would change would be to have a transparent finish even if the top is not figured .... a stripped down, basic guitar with a "natural" finish just looks _sooo_ good.
I have a 2018 CE special edition satin in "Angry Larry" finish. It's a great guitar, totally versitale, and the perfect guitar for any gig. I was in a cover band, and there was never a reason for me to switch. I LOVED having the satin finish to distinguish it from _ as you guys said - all the glossy-looking PRS SE and cores. HOWEVER... the thin satin finish is NOT durable. I have bracelets which have made minor microdents. But the BIGGEST issue is that the satin finish has become shiney around the pickups and controls - basically anywhere my hands are on the body. In essence, it's on its way to being glossy, which kinda defeats the whole satin thing, right? Worse yet, the edges of the binding are really wearing away, meaning the paint is beginning to flake away. It's very very small, but worth noting. Bottom line: If you use these often, the satin finish WILL NOT HOLD UP. Is it bad? Not necessarily. It just means that, unlike all other PRSs, these will actually relic. I have a few SEs that have been equally used a lot for gigs and vacations... they look brand new. So just know that these "players" guitars will begin to show the world all the love you're gonna give them.

Dang guitars are expensive. The internet say Gibson is expensive, although Gibson has like four models with full nitro and set necks for less than $2 grand (still kinda expensive). Enough $$$ talk. Those look and sound rad!

Is the BOLT ON neck a 'feature' for some people? It would seem like just too much of a 'cost cutting' measure to me, and sort of loses the 'essence' of a PROPER PRS?
@@andertons Nope, unless it was changed very recently, CE24s come with SE trems. I only found out because there are many guitar forums talking about how big of an upgrade a core trem is on CE24/22s. PRS should make it better know, IMHO.
They should have all the same parts as the "Core" guitars I hope for that price, right? Are they the same pickups and tuners and hardware and electronics as the American models? And the gig bags are nice, but they really should come in a hard case for that price. ESPECIALLY THESE GUITARS, THAT ARE OBVIOUS PLAYER GUITARS, AND ARE GONNA BE TOSSED AROUND A LITTLE BIT WHEN THEY GET REPEATEDLY PACKED AND UNPACKED IN THE VAN OR VEHICLE YOUR BAND IS USING FOR TRANSPORT TO GIGS. YOU HAVE TO BABY THOSE GUITARS IN A GIG BAG IF ALL THE OTHER BANDS EQUIPMENT IS PACKED IN THERE TOO.
can we pleeeeease get these as an SE and possibly even as 22 fret? I don't understand why they waste money making SE's look more expensive than they are and then make something like these CE's which would be a perfect look for an SE with the eyes on production cost
I’ll stick with my used 2014 S2 24. The price on these is just prohibitive for us poor folks. Literally any PRS SE is a gig-worthy tool. Guitars these days are just so good. We live in a blessed time for good inexpensive gear. Just my .02
Love a satin neck, but not the body. To me, nitro is just like the tone wood debate. I personally hate for stuff to look beat up. I don't try to get my car to rust.

Unplayed I like the black one but with some arm rub and pick scratches the gold will look lovely
They made a run of ce22 guitars in the 90's (I owned a 96). Then they started back making them in the 2000's, but discontinued the 22 a few years ago.

I have a PRS CE22 from 1998 with a gloss black finish on front and back of the body. Just used it for a recording session the other week!
Dressed down & raw needs moons not birds. Matching head stock for the white model would be Dave Navarro for the 24 fret crowd .
