I saw another reaction to the same skit. It was a couple. The lady at the end got mad. She started arguing with the boyfriend asking why he's not watching women's sports. She said she doesn't watch sports so it doesn't matter to her, but since he does watch sports, it's his responsibility to watch female sports. Since men watch sports they have to watch women sports as well. Comment section was filled with "This video is about you."

What if men start asking why male models got paid a lot less than female models when in actual fact, they are doing the same job, walking down the fashion runaway? We don't hear men bitching about that, right? Equality if it only benefits women, huh? 🤔

Or how about how the average porn actress earns between $800 and $1,000 for a male-female sex scene, while men in porn average $500-$600 per scene. The guys have to do more of the work in those scenes.

      @aymanm.8462 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

in no field will the same opportunity give you the same outcome. that's just life. opportunity is not the only playing factor in the outcome. look for covid for instance, the whole world had the same opportunity to make money from covid but only a handful got the good outcome. it is what it is indeed. if same opportunity equals same outcome no one would be motivated to do shit. you need opportunity, brains, hard work, fighting spirit, competence, your competition and a bit of luck etc. etc. and that's where we all differ and that also what determines the outcome in the end. the people at the top are machines, like it or not, they've worked 20 hrs a day to get what they want and they still defend their position everyday from other hyena's and those machines see you as competition the moment you reach the top 20% in the field and trust me, they will not let you reach the top without a fight. so yeah, opportunity determines maybe 10% of your outcome tops.

Doesn't anywhere in life. Forcing pay equity is just enforcing inequality. People get paid for what they bring to the table and for what they produce. Woe-meyn cannot compete, so they get subsidizied by equality and equity special interest programs. simple as that. Woe-meyn can't handle the truth that meyn are physically superior. They definitely aren't ready to admit we're superior period. Woe-meyn can't compete in non-physical competitive fields either. bingo. from poker to chess to mathematics competitions, on and on. top femayle always ranks middle mayle, physical or not. but that's a truth that would burn icarus to ash. silence!

In days of old when Kings and Queens ruled the lands, the rulers had a bad habit of killing messengers who told them news they didn't like. This made people avoid telling them the bad news that they actually needed to hear. So the rule was, the King couldn't punish a court jester for what he said in his acts. The jester was used that way to inform the King in a roundabout way of truths that he would punish anyone else who told them to him. Bill Burr reminds me of that. He makes some really funny stories, but there are hard truths in them and people can see it... which gives that laughter some real bite.

Great point on male pro athletes of prior generations having to hold down other jobs outside Pro sports. (1949-1962) Philadelphia Eagles legend, a "60 min man", Chuck Bednarik aka "Concrete Charlie" didn't earn his nickname for his notoriously hard hitting game play. Bednarik hits were so hard that in 1960 he knocked NY Giant, Frank Gifford out cold that fans thought Bednarik had killed Gifford. Bednarik earned his nickname based on his off-field hours job as a concrete salesman.

Something people seem to forget is that sports is an entertainment business. High risk high reward, its not a regular job. Bill is actual wrong with soccer analogy at least with US portion that they have as high viewership as mens. But women's complaint didn't actual make sense.
The first time they renegotiated contract they made a very stable contract that fit more in a traditional business, health benefits, sick/maternity leave, dental etc. They raised overall pay for everyone however that meant the win bonus and stuff of that nature was significantly lower because they spent all money.
On the men's side of contract they did exact opposite. They made a high risk high reward for a few. They didn't get any of the benefits above. What they did do is put all money on winning and bonus aspect so a few could get very rich. But overall the avg player is making less with no benefits.
There was no real favoritism. They just negotiate very differently, one selfish other unselfish. The real meat and bones question is the difference in teams clubs. The reason US mens soccer was so happy to sign high risk contract was because the club team they played on provide all those extra traditional benefits the women's league negotiated from the league. So people women's soccer team should have been going after was not soccer association but clubs teams that are not provide same benefits as the mens.

Here is simple example 2018 World cup (men) revenue 5.36 billion $ expenses 1.82 billion $... 2019 Women World Cup revenue 94 million - 130 million $(really hard to find straight answer), expenses (no idea, nobody listing it).Almost nobody goes to women games, nobody buys merch, nobody watches on tv. So women football (soccer for USA) is not entertaining, it makes little to no money. Its like actors from some small home made move with 0$ revenue will ask same pay as Tom Cruise or Sandra Bullock.

I can only speak for American professional sports, but in the NBA, NFL, MLB there's literally no stipulation preventing women from competing in the league (I'm certain there's nothing preventing women from competing in "Men's" soccer either but I don't know for sure). Some people just want to complain, and sometimes it's lucrative for them to do so.

I work with a massive female basketball fan. She says that the WNBA is so slow.
When I was in high school, the girls basketball program had the same problem that the WNBA has today. People weren’t interested in watching a game being played in slow motion. The difference is that my high school basketball teams players were not being paid to play so money wasn’t a problem. The WNBA is hemorrhaging millions so something drastic has to be done. Closing down the league is the obvious solution but they need bodies in seats immediately. Most people don’t start a fire using money which is the NBA is doing. For 25 years, the NBA is subsidizing a league that has never made a profit. That’s burning money in a fireplace. That’s simple economics. I honestly really hope the WNBA starts making money but 25 years of history is not a good sign. I know next to nothing about basketball but I know losing money is not good. I figured that out when I a small child.

As an example I noticed about women soccer (football) in Europe, that they constantly get better from year to year. So 10 years ago you got bored out as a soccer fan when watching womens soccer. It was like looking a bunch of 9 year olds playing. No offense but it was like that. Meanwhile the matches are in many parts very good to watch! They improved their technique and physicality and will keep improving. And hopefully then more people go to watch their games.

I think this is an american pblm. Don't hear these issues so much in Oz although american culture is starting to poison the well here too.

I think the problem with the WNBA specifically, is they are trying to play men's basketball. It isn't good. I watch high school girls basketball because 1. I can cheer for and against schools I know. 2. It's a different sport. It's slower, more focused on passing. I appreciate it for what it is. The WNBA is just watching bad men's basketball.

My only area of disagreement is on the intelligence thing. Intelligence is an individual thing. Neither women nor men are smarter as a whole. Certain individuals are simply far smarter than the norm, and they throw off any attempt to accurately categorize intelligence purely by gender. Otherwise he is spot on.

IMO, this is one of the worst job choices Harbaugh could've put himself into
    1. The Chargers have one of the worst cap situations in the NFL, about $45M over the cap
    2. They WILL lose 2-3 of there best players, due to this cap situation
    3. Their defense sucks, and their GM swallows!
    4. Herbert is heading into a massive new deal in 2025, which won't help them add talent they need
    5. They are in the same division as the Chiefs, so getting a home game in playoffs isn't happening
Outside of that, it's a sweet job!

I think using sports to illustrate unequal pay is a bad example because sports is about drawing power and putting "asses in seats". You can spin it however you want , but that is the truth and nothing is going to change in 100 years.

Look, men who "think but cannot say" should stop simping and say how things really are. And that's it. And what Bill Burr said in his show is what I've also been saying over the years. One of reasons why there's so much nonsense going around is because people who know how things are, or why they're this or that way, aren't saying anything because they're afraid or concerned of some loud but minority people.

He is 💯 % correct. Attendance isn’t the only issue. They say they are just as talented as men….nope. Not even close. That’s why nobody…not even women…want to watch them. Their sense of entitlement is ridiculous. 😆🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I think everybody agrees that if womens sports doesn't generate as much revenue as mens teams then they shouldn't get paid as much. The controversy here in the US the last few years has been about the US womens national soccer team, which since 2015 has generated more revenue than the mens national team over the last 8 years, and will probably continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
