your unranked to gm is one i actually respect because there's never a moment where you go silent to focus on the game. you're playing the game but focused on TEACHING which is what these unranked's are for! i learn so much from these videos, also with how quickly your mmr gets put into masters + it's not really a "he's just stomping metal ranks!1!1" scenario. thanks for all that you do (: edit: for everyone that says "of course you got GM you're already GM!" or "step 1. play videogames since you were a kid" do you not think hiring the best personal trainer will not get you the best advice? do you think that you'll grow the muscles overnight after one session of using that advice? OF COURSE you won't rank up to GM in two hours after this, but you are going to rank up if you keep applying what you learned. you'll never get better if you just assume it's something that can't be done.
I dont know about him, but I recently realised I have a better gameplay while talking to a friend or having a debate on discord than when Im actually focus on the game. Since we're on DPS UR2GM, I would love a video about Echo. I feel like she's the aerial version of Tracer. Equally squishy, but less unpredictable in movement.
Dude. After watching the karq ana coaching and half of this vid I went into some games and it *FINALLY* felt like I knew what to do when nothing is happening. It seems so simple to aim for damage but it's not easy to see how to maximise it while also making your own space. Anyway great content

As a guy who’s been playing since launch and is top 500 consistently, I Still learn from your videos man. @@crooks1000 I guess but it’s not like he’s going into voice chat and flaming them, unless they are watching the stream they aren’t gonna know he’s insulting them which means the match isn’t gonna get disrupted
I was a top 500 Tracer when the game peaked on OW 1. I hardly ever play anymore but my knowledge from my experience remains. Theres some points he missed on how to improve your tracer gameplay. First, dont shoot all the time. Tracer is the most fragile hero. Avoid bringing too much attention to yourself. The point is to be annoying yes but you have to focus on specific targets to annoy. Not just anybody at first. Healers are your top priority. Always try to find your way to annoy and potentially kill their support. He doesnt ever talk about it and his gameplay never actually shows it which causes him to be a little useless at times. Thats just poor target priority. Pulse bomb. Use it when you can, yes. Except when every decision matters in overtime. If they have a mercy, prioritize pulse bomb for when she tries to rez. Otherwise you risk wasting a pulse bomb on a target that gets rezed and its back to a 5v5. You wont always be able to one clip a mercy trying to rez so make it a 100% chance of stopping it by using your ult. Blinking. Something I learned is to try your best to absolutely avoid blinking down a straight path. Confusing how to word it. If an enemy is right in front of you, never blink straight backwards. Always blink off center your target. You become an easy target to hit when you blink parallel to your target. Hitbox. The smallest hitbox with the highest speed. Be that guy that spam crouches at times against hitscan. Makes you so hard to hit in the head. Positioning. Like I said, Tracer is fragile. This isnt about your positioning. He covered that. This is about enemy positioning. As any role, its important to keep track of enemy positions but as Tracer, you need to know all their positions as much as possible. Helps with recall position, avoiding stuns/hooks, getting minimal value because your target is just hard pocketed, etc. Damage range. God it was painful to watch how far this guy shoots his targets from at times. You have insane damage fall off. And insane one clip potential. Again, youre fragile, but maximizing your damage will get you out of harms way faster. Get up close and personal. Learn the maximum range you can one clip from and thats your goldilocks zone. Live in it. Now, for gods sake stop shooting the pocketed tank and GO FOR THE MERCY
I was gonna say the same thing. I guess you want to "annoy" the enemy team. But in high ranks if you expose your flank, shoot far away, & deal minimal damage, it's almost always over for you because they will intensely focus you, be more likely peel for their teammates, & much more likely to kill you. The hardest part about tracer (besides aim) in my opinion is getting 1 feet away from the enemy and them not being able to hear or see you. Even if I walk & don't crouch for 1 second 20 ft away the enemy team will hear me and my surprise flank is exposed.
For those wondering, healing isnt value because it's trying to undo the value the other team got. Damage is pressure, healing is not pressure. Healing can let your team DO pressure, this is extremely important for tracer and why he spams healing so often, but it doesn't impact the enemy team like damage does. This is why zen is so incredibly strong.
only been watching this for 15 mins, and as a tracer main this is unreasonably beautiful and satisfying to watch, a lot of what I’m watching is what I already do, and a lot of what I’m HEARING is what I never thought of, especially shooting all the time
I know this is a super old comment, but even being decent at tracer I don’t think I shot all the time. But I watched some awkward content before I came back this season, and one thing I realized is shooting all the time lulls people to sleep on tracer. They get used to hearing you and ignoring you and it costs them
Just a tip for metal rank players, you will never have aim as good as him, 1/2 of your shots will land and your plays will happen a lot slower, be patient and understand your plays will not happen as fast as presented. This also means you should not go for the same plays as quickly, you need to take more time for yourself and develop the skills over time and practice.
One advantage that you have in comparison to another new players that want to learn tracer is that you blink calculations and movements around the map are precise. You always know where are the doors, the health packs, the hallways, etc. And that is the number one reason tracer gets killed, they blink into a wall. Can you give a tip to master this apart of just playing more?
@@Awkward2 Thanks I have been playing soldier because of you and improved so much 💪. Also what are some tips to improve your aiming on console or tips in general that are different from PC to console. And for the last I would love to see an unranked to gm on Ramattra. Yeah I mean lol, this is why they can reach GM in two hours, they already been there, and done that. When you are trying to reach gm for the first time you arent given these teammates that at least know what they are doing; a tracer in gold cannot track that way ,so saying this is educational when you are starting from 0 with the mechanical ability of a gm, it is a ride in the park lol. They basically be saying: "look at what i can do, that you clearly cant because im already gm and stomping lower ranks xD"
I have a life is not full coping tho. I myself never had negative KD, which by nature of the game is fairly easy to achieve on most of the cast. Some people have more on their plate than you or me however. I can guarantee there are people out there Playing OW or other games that where born into a live that would've made you "off" yourself. Your attitude towards learning is exceptional, your teaching style is exceptional. Your outlook on others, emotional intelligence and all that could use some work but that is ok, because like you said, for some things, we have to accept the fact that we suck and move on. (Or from my perspective: Realizing that you suck and if you don't want that, aim to better yourself. One step at a time.)

In general I agree with trying to improve if you play a game and have the ambission to climb. But for some people climbing is not important, they play for fun and they prefer to pour a much bigger part of their free time into another hobby. I disagree with akward when he said that "either don't play or play good" (about 1:25:00 ish). But people that play for fun wouldn't say "I have a life...", so that guy was deeply insecure.

This is the first time a “life hack” has actually worked for me. What did you do and how?

"I came up with the damage philosophy" Pretty sure it's just common sense that you should constantly do damage. I wouldn't attribute that to any person "coming up" with it.
@@badfrostbyte6171 You say it like being that good would turn you into a more egotistical person, but rather I think it's the other way around. I believe that in order to get to that level in the first place, you need to be egotistical. Watching this guy's videos seeing how he repeats the same things over and over, even the most simple things, makes it seem more like these are things that he's been telling himself all this time working up to get as good as he is now. You need the confidence to tell yourself what is the truth and what isn't, you need the confidence to grind. You see another person, you need to say to yourself "Doesn't matter who he is, I can beat him, I just have to __" over and over again. This hurdle for improvement is a daunting task, someone who doesn't believe they're good enough (or could be good enough) to make it isn't going to continue that task to begin with. I really feel you need to be egotistical to improve at, well, any skill. But most especially competitive ones that directly compare yourself against other people.
53:40 😂 the sombra is getting pocketed by the mercy Then mercy leaves and sombra dies Then mercy comes back and tries to avenge her teammate with her pistol 😂😂
I feel like the skins take is a little silly. Most people don't tend to care about the rarity or cost, they just get the skin because they genuinely like the look of it and want to be the one to use it. I also feel the opposite it's ridiculous to find it cool to have a 10k dollar skin just because it's expensive or someone else doesn't have it.

to all the nonbelievers, even without being able to one-clip or confirm every kill, just the tips of always doing damage and pestering reshaped the way i look at the damage role. your videos have been the only thing to help me stop tunnel-visioning and overcommitting when i’ve already found value just by chipping. it really doesn’t require cracked aim to carry in games. thanks, awkward
the most impressive part of these is awk’s map knowledge. being able to walk in and out of doorways without even looking is a huge part of his positioning.
I actually tried this method today and won three games in a row sadly lost one but I had great improvements. I was practically useless as a tracer before this
@@ecciq I met a lot of good tracers that are not smurf, they existed ofc, but there are something that you can only see more on gm level. For example, constant animation cancel, 1 clipping even while I'm strafing and have some heal on me? Yeah, they don't belong to my rank. There's a difference between me getting 1 clip while im running in a single line or standing still (playing scope heroes) etc, and me strafing around; the speed acceleration and fast-changing of direction in this game are very punishing for the opponent to consistently aim, especially high spread tracking or a single burst. Non-smurf good tracers can have good games and get tons of value, but you don't see the technical side, movement and aim after re-watching some vods. Most people only watch vods where they excel at a game, but rarely do they watch a game where they got completely dominated by the enemy,. It's how I found the number of cheaters/smurfs/ or the shitty matchmaking doing its work.

your unranked to gm is one i actually respect because there's never a moment where you go silent to focus on the game. you're playing the game but focused on TEACHING which is what these unranked's are for! i learn so much from these videos, also with how quickly your mmr gets put into masters + it's not really a "he's just stomping metal ranks!1!1" scenario. thanks for all that you do (:
edit: for everyone that says "of course you got GM you're already GM!" or "step 1. play videogames since you were a kid" do you not think hiring the best personal trainer will not get you the best advice? do you think that you'll grow the muscles overnight after one session of using that advice? OF COURSE you won't rank up to GM in two hours after this, but you are going to rank up if you keep applying what you learned. you'll never get better if you just assume it's something that can't be done.
kragie has an educational unranked to gm on tracer that isn't very educational😂

Hey man, do you have discord ?
I was gonna say the same thing. I guess you want to "annoy" the enemy team. But in high ranks if you expose your flank, shoot far away, & deal minimal damage, it's almost always over for you because they will intensely focus you, be more likely peel for their teammates, & much more likely to kill you. The hardest part about tracer (besides aim) in my opinion is getting 1 feet away from the enemy and them not being able to hear or see you. Even if I walk & don't crouch for 1 second 20 ft away the enemy team will hear me and my surprise flank is exposed.
"Healing is not value, Damage is value"
Me as a Mercy main trying to learn Tracer:
Idk about that, his aim isn't that great but his decision making is god tier, how fast he processes information is insane
You are hands down the best at these unranked to GM's. The comms, tips and gameplay are what make it entertaining!
Go into a Custom lobby and put infinite cooldowns and start blinking around through "complicated" areas.
I think aim is also a hige difference, when you can hit double of the shots you can soend half of the time exposed
@@sjw7345 well yeah but people can't really teach you to aim better. That's effort you put forth for yourself

"I came up with the damage philosophy"
Pretty sure it's just common sense that you should constantly do damage. I wouldn't attribute that to any person "coming up" with it.
Ikr, he makes great videos that are super helpful, he just seems to be pretty egotistical. Idk, I guess we all would be if we were at his level.

You probably think every tracer doing good is a smurf
@@ecciq true
