    20:29 yeah that’s a bit unclear but my assumption is that when Mae came out she was screaming about the fire, so they just blamed it on her since all the witches were out ready to fight.
    I wasn’t expecting Indara to be the one that was be trying to be sensible one in this flashback. Ep3 gave me the impression she would be the aggressor but it was Sol and Torbin.
    Enjoyed your reaction.

    I went back and watched all the sol and qimir scenes and got more pissed at him .
    1) he calls out qimir for killing a child eventhough he is the one who brought that child on a mission and however he chose to “kill” mae .
    2) he then says qimir is clouded by darkness and corrupted mae even though mae is reasonably angry because she watched him destroyed her life and kill her mother .

    Totally agree with yall. The way this episode was written it made Sol look like a child kidnapper. He had no knowledge of these girls other than seeing them use the force. He manipulated one into wanting to be a Jedi. This was not an episode that showed the Jedi in a good light. A lot 😅f the past episodes are making sense now

    He was just obsessed with osha
    He should’ve used the force on the twins not the bridge , he fucked up and didn’t try at all to make sure both kids made it out alive . Him having a connection with osha is a pile of bullshit because he couldn’t tell the difference between them twice in the show now .

    People need to realize that the Coven was not evil and when you go from that viewpoint you realize that they were just a family trying to protect there children but also there way of life-
    They didn’t kill anyone they didn’t hurt anyone the only time they used there powers was always in defense never in trying to kill someone
    After Mother Aniseya was brutally murdered by Jedi Sol wrongfully that is when the Coven fighting still in defense but also in offense so that no other person would die-
    You can feel how you want to feel but Jedi Sol Jedi Torbin and the wooky Jedi we’re all in the wrong
    Carrie Anne moss was the only one who consistently tried to understand what was going on from a higher big picture view point
    But those Jedi after what they did should have all been stripped of there station and immediately removed from the Jedi order and the fact that they weren’t because they kept the secret for 16 yrs shows that they were corrupt and had fallen into darkness
    The witches were definitely innocent the Jedi came in like child protective services and instead of actually looking at the situation Sol just immediately said they were in danger all because he wanted a Padawan if you listen to Carrie Anne moss character
    She states and that’s why I have a Padawan and you don’t they made that scene jump out because they wanted the viewers to realize that Sol was jealous of not having a student to teach so much so that it clouded his judgment.
    Yes the witches lived differently but all three of the male Jedis were jumping to quick conclusions and making their own decisions
    At the end of the day aniyseya had made up her mind about letting osha go with the jedis there was no need for violence
    When she shouted out No it was her way of trying to stop the jedis and mother Koril from fighting and before that happened Sol yet again jumped to conclusions and killed her immediately making him the bad guy and darkening his spirit
    Everything after that moment was just a response to the jedis killing their leader
    but they never were in danger the ceremony wasn’t evil and neither were any of the witches
    They just did things differently

    I watch about 8 channels with TH-camrs 20's to 40's from different parts of the USA, London & Ireland. The reason I enjoy watching you two young men (compared to me 😀) is you are unapologetically recounting the Black experience. As an older Black woman (Chi & 'Ville), I understand the significance of a No Knock warrant. Those in authority not getting more information and people discounting your community's traditions and rights. The audacity and authoritarian view of the Jedi is what Leslye Headland's would be from her life experience.
    No matter what the inadequacies of the writing, direction and/or acting I enjoy the overall story and what they were trying to display.
    No Star Wars movie, series or book was perfect, but since watching and reading 1977 the experiences have been joyous.
    Stay locked and safe in my Brothers ❤❤

    • @JBurnz001
      @JBurnz001 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The black experience isn’t an experience that is one thing. Everything is the black experience and we all have different things we experience in life. The problem with people brining in their personal lives into this show is you then take away the characters being people in their own right. The experiences of the witches is not like many of our peoples experiences. We don’t know enough about the witches to even try to act like we can resonate with them. They’re are also wrong by saying if somebody says they don’t see color they’re wrong. Thats the worst way for thinking because trust n believe, these young kids for the more part don’t see color. It only becomes a thing when the older generation puts it in their heads. Thats why there has been no progression politically, the older folks can’t let go of the past. Until that can happen the world will be an endless cycle. We can’t ignore that our karma came from when our people went around enslaving and colonizing the world. That karma came right back around to us. I hope the kids who don’t see color can one day actually live like that without our generation n the ones before us, polluting their minds with the color/race bs.

    • @hannahhudson9335
      @hannahhudson9335 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@JBurnz001Saying you “don’t see colour” is a form of ignorance. We SHOULD see colour, our race/ethnicity is important, our heritage and culture and lived experiences can differ greatly depending on what “colour” we are. We should see colour and see our differences and respect those differences. Saying you don’t see colour is just what I usually hear people say right before they say something ignorant or racist. We have established that the Witches are marginalised by the Republic, which is something a lot of people with all kinds of differences can relate to in terms of our social and judicial systems. So therefore it is quite easy to relate to the Coven, especially if you’ve experienced foster care, or cps overstepping and intervention in your life. If you can’t relate or empathise with that when it’s been made very clear, then perhaps you’re either: watching this from a perspective of privilege, you’re just looking for a reason to hate and gripe or you’re just not as empathic as you think you are.

    Sol, being hyper focused on the safety of the girls (even though it appears out of character and unwarranted), suddenly sees Aniseya apparently turning into a smoke monster _that seems to feeding off Mae_ - I'm not saying the whole situation wasn't a lesson in wrong choices, but given his mindset his instinct was to protect the child. And Jedi carry lightsabers...

    Great reaction guys your comments are always on point even when they're darkly humored. Indara was the voice of caution and wisdom in here. Definitely the MVP. I think mother Aniseya was just trying to turn her and Mae into smoke to get her daughter away quickly from the fight about to go down between Torbin and Korril. Sol just thought it looked scary and so automatically meant evil hence overreacting. I feel so sad for Mae to have lost everything and when she found her twin again been rejected for wrongs she didn't really do. Yeah she started the fire but she didn't intend to kill Osha just destroy the book with the Jedi crest because she felt rejected. And the Jedi could technically say they didn't lie as such since Mae did start the fire and everyone was lost but the 2 things were not linked. Very slick of them...and disappointing. Such a good episode despite the continuing writing issues ✌️😁 #istilllovestarwars

    6:38 The inability to sense the other side goes both ways. You don't recall Palpatine's inability to sense Luke through the force. I don't remember his exact words when Vader told him about it, but it I think he said that it was strange that he could not sense Luke in the Force. Palpatine hid right under the entire Jedi Council's noses and none were the wiser. Vader had Leia in his custody and had no clue who or what she was. The same thing happened with Kylo Ren and Rey and Finn! I don't know if it's a balance issue (Sith and Jedi often talk about the scales tipping one way or another) or not, but we often see Jedi and Sith unable to sense the presence of the other.

      Facts. The large majority of fans don’t even have enough cultural awareness to realize how racist, homophobic, and anti-female they sound. Others totally know how awful they sound and enjoy making those type of comments. Those of us that come from different backgrounds have inside knowledge to how the world is cruel and unforgiving. I’m biracial, so I got to see hatred and prejudice from both sides (black/white). Most of the fandom is white and male, although other demographics are rising for viewership. Also, the ones truly acting out were born before the 90’s. They’re also the same group that hated the Prequel series and sent death threats to Hayden Christianson and the actor that played Jar Jar Binks. Then there are the hardcore prequel fans that were born in the 90’s. They’re behind the extreme hated for the Sequel Trilogy. Anyone that challenges the concept of the Great White Savior, I mean Chosen One Anakin. Never mind that Anakin becomes the most evil villain of the OT, ROS, and the Clone Wars.
      I love Anakin/Vader, but the whole chosen one prophecy didn’t really make sense until The Clone Wars really fleshed put Anakin/Vader visually.

    I've been absolutely loving your thoughtful discussions and commentary for this series, as an American I immediately got the white savior vibes from the Jedi especially with their approach to taking children. Fans upset that the jedi as an INSTITUTION can be corrupt forget that when we were first introduced to the Jedi they were no longer an institution truly. In the original movies the jedi order of the Republic have been killed or scattered due to order 66, so our exposure to Jedi is very different. Once Luke becomes the face of the new jedi order the concept of what being a Jedi is has evolved to be very different. We can still love jedi characters , especially since most of the best Jedi characters have struggled with the bureaucracy of the Jedi order.
