    I really wanted one but for the price you pay, there should be a torque sensor and not a cadence. Torque sensor is the standard now.

    Pedego is currently working on a class 3 upgrade for the Avenue.

      That would be great. The speed going up hills suck. And the flat ground speed is terrible in only being able to go 20mph, or less shown here is ridiculous with the ebike having a 500WATT motor. The only issue that can’t be solved with this version is the weight being too heavy to ride without a motor which is terrible out on the road when you eventually need, or want to utilize the ebike for a lot longer than a simple ebike battery will allow one to in this day & age. If this were 20 years from now in the present as that is how slow ebike batteries progress apparently it is a no go for me. It is a nice looking ebike though with good potential albeit with the weight being way too high still with the other issues being addressed by Pedego in the near future.

      Would the class 3 upgrade mean that it'll lose the throttle assist?☹️

      You posted 9 months ago. Still NO class 3 upgrade. Your source?

    Comprehensive review, but you forgot to mention the stealthy battery placement. Oh, for longevity, I wouldn’t blow thru stop signs like that!

      Ah yeah i should have mentioned that. It is pretty stealthy.

    That’s a sexy looking ebike. The issue I have is it not having enough power. Also the weight is too much for being practical without a motor, and for the style of the ebike being 28” in tire height. If the torque were higher allowing one to go up relatively steep hills at 20+mph, and the weight of the ebike weighing 35lbs it would be truly practical.

    • @buffalomind6838
      @buffalomind6838 ปีที่แล้ว

      The circumference of the wheels are great a being a normal size bike, but with that how are you not able to reach 28mph with a 500watt motor as well as s not being able to go up hills at a bare minimum of 18mph? That completely steers me clear of this ebike.

    • @ChrisCrossed
      @ChrisCrossed  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s lighter than most ebikes, any thing less usually means smaller motor with less power

      @@ChrisCrossed I have the Jaison ebike, and that ebike weighs 60lbs. It is a 20” by 3” tire, 500w nominal, and folds, so that means added structure to make it Uber stable. I have to judge things from that perspective.

    Nice job on features of this new bike. I am having trouble with the latching for the downtube recessed battery. The battery module does not click in securely to the double latches. It will fit in and make contact with the electrical connection but will not latch securely and cleanly. The misfit makes it so that the key cannot be removed. The charging is affected by not allowing the charging connector to make electrical contact with the battery side connection. The battery must be removed for charging and this then leads to the latching problem. Could you review proper battery removal and installation?

      Had to bring the bike back to the dealer so no longer have it, your dealer can diagnose I'm sure...

    • @24ecko
      @24ecko ปีที่แล้ว

      Take it to a Pedego dealer. They'll swap out the latching mechanism.

    Chris, from your experience with different e bikes, besides ease of maintenance, do you see any advantages of having these "mag" wheels compared to normal spokes. Mine are mag types, but made out of plastic.

    • @ChrisCrossed
      @ChrisCrossed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I do, 1) they make cleaning the wheels easy 2) there are no spokes to adjust 3) they look COOL!

    • @24ecko
      @24ecko ปีที่แล้ว

      One major advantage is (at least for pedego mag wheels) is that if you burnout the motor. They'll swap out just the core of the motor instead of disassembling the spokes of traditional wheel.
